Yeah pretty lame... Bunch of +X this and that... Only thing that i enjoyed was the Cap of the Explorer not a game breaker item but i kinda like it
Also noticed that the shields are classified as "misc." items... makes it seem like you could wear several of them at once, but i seriously doubt that. Just a detail that i picked up. Simple "shield" would have sufficed :/

Some of them have some nice additional effects, like Elven boots. These remind me a little bit of artifacts from Dragon set in Heroes V. I am particularly interested in whether some artefacts' sets would grant racial-specific boosts, like they used to do in ToE.

No more boring then previous installments, like H3. Its just a selection, and the sets are not included.

What hurts my eyes the most is recycled Heroes 6 art (skill icons, artifacts, map objects...) This is not H7, more like Heroes 6 1/3

Pretty much on par with skills and most creature abilities. Boring, repetative, and probably overpowered. +8 to a stat!?
Hopefully some resource artifacts will make an appearance.

Interesting, some of these are from older games like the White Wolf Shield and Staff of Lyre from MMX. What I want to know is why certain artifacts change in value. The Assassin's Blade was a Legendary Artifact in Heroes 6, and is now just a minor one? Is there a lore reason such as loss or gain of magical properties over time?

+8 is not much. Look at H3, where you had the Titan's Gladius (+12 Attack, but -3 Defense) etc.
That is why it would be good to see this return, artefacts that increase one stat, but also decrease another to make it less OP'd. Overall these artefacts we see now are decent, but the variety lags behind. It's only statboosts, or extra initiative, and one for negotiation. What about increasing Luck/Morale? And decreasing enemy stats etc? An artefact reducing enemy Morale by 3 for instance. Or artefacts that increase/decrease health.
There is a lot that artefacts can do, so there should be a bit of variety in them.

I am not so displeased with how the game is shaping but i do agree that some more complex or interesting abilities wouldn't hurt. In that regard, Magic the gathering is a very interesting place for inspiration.
As for the artifacts, they seem very much what one would expect. After all they are objects that enhance some of your physical attributes in their plainer form and may grant some extra juice in the form of a spell or an ability in their most exotic.

I call this a lie. For there are many artifacts that included a lot of additional effects, not just stat ones.
Besides, this is H7, we expect more, refined, better stuff. Not just artifacts.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Also, what do people think about those requirements to wear the artifact in H6? Like you needed to be Blood class or be might-oriented hero or such.

I'm sure that if there are some requirements, they will be limited to Might/Magic classes.

Majority of artifacts in H3 only improved your stats so i don't know why you accuse him of lying. Also you guys should stop acting like religious fanatics who got their "Holy Book" mocked by saying a word of truth about it cause your "Holy Book" is not perfect.
Edit. Also hating any new information just for the heck of it gets boring after a while

Well, it was not just about stat increase. You remember well artifacts like Boots of Speed to increase movement, the resource increase artifacts, or spell immunity artifacts, or spell boosting orbs, or spell learning books, or...
There are so many artifacts there and they weren't just stat boosters. So no, I do not approve of statement "Heroes games had similar artifacts".
And H3 is almost perfect for the time it was released. And now we get, in 2015, some features that are half-made, not enough work was put into them.

Besides, if we are talking about fanaticism, why do we have the spider theme in the Necropolis? Spider architecture, spider units, spider tattoos? It does not make them any powerful.
Besides, if they want a good game, they should:
*expand development to few years, not just one
*receive more money for development and invest it wisely
*focus less on making new features that may not work as we hope or think
*read feedback, whether positive or negative
*etc.
But hey, we are talking about Ubi here, which seems to be more stubborn and ignorant than us fans.

Again, this is a selection. Sets not included. H3 also had two expansions with additional artifacts. But sure, all aboard the hate train!

I am not talking about sets. Even with the expansions, you got about 10 new artifacts. H3, again, had many more artifacts.
And why just looking at H3? You got H4, having even more artifacts and were imaginative. Then again, the features were changed a lot, so it explains a bit.
Again, devs need to be more imaginative. Unless Ubi does not allow them to be.
Just what games are you playing, even? I, for one, know it deserves *my* hate because they can do much better than they are. They caused too many mistakes in my opinion. For if they did better work, we'd have a much different approach, rather than ignoration from their side.
And by far worst thing possible, I believe Ubi is splitting the fans, old and new, for their amusement. One tries to point out their mistakes and gets yelled out "how hateful the comment is". Yell more and you get that article saying "Heroes fans are too conservative".

Vanilla H3 had 8/10 slots for stat boosting artifacts, 9th slot was for universal artifacts and 10th was for sets.
Edit. Also comparing vanilla game to game which had a lot of expansions and mods is plain stupid and ignorant or rather wrong.
