all i want is necromancers to take a bunch of random bones wherever they can find them, build the biggest, baddest weird skeleton Frankenstein's monster hybrid, give it (un-)life and release it on their enemies in a raged frenzy. Is that to much to ask?

Since no Manticore in Dungeon, I really hope the Lamassu returns.
Maybe try a different shooter this time than the Lich?

And the Fate Spinner had a projectile as well. Which means the Lich wouldn't be missed at all.

That is if we see Fate Spinners at all. Lich is signature creature from Necropolis, same as Skeleton and Vampire, it would be strange not to include it in the lineup but if they are going to be the same as they were in H6 I wouldn't mind changing it for something else.

@Danny
No offense, mate, but I hope we do not see Lamassus in H7. At least not with a design similar to the H6 one, which imho was a disaster.
As for the Spinners (and as I have stated before I think they were a VERY nice surprise in H6 Necro), if they don't return in H7 I am totally in for something fresh and really terrifying!

If fatespinners don't return in necro, i hope that they will at least be included as (necro aligned) neutral.
Lamasus i quite liked and i can't see what was wrong with their design. However, i absolutely won't mind them replacing lamasus with as awesome new creature.

We won't see Lamasu & Fate Spinners cause any magical creature in this time period died.

That is not exactly what happened. Between Heroes VI and V some kind of mass extinction of creatures (probably caused by someone playing with Void ) created by the Dragon Gods (excluding the Elder Races and their children (dragons)) like Sun Horses, Glories :'( and Namtarus occured, hence they won't be seen again in Heroes VII (this is the reason why Courassiers ride normal horses). This may be also an explaination of lack of bosses in Heroes VI because they are also beings created directly by Dragon Gods (at least some of them).
With Lamasus there is a completely different story. Lamasus are a failed experiment of Wizards from house Chimera during which they joined Manticores and human beings. Lamasus have died just after they were created. Since there was quite a lot of them Necromancers took advantage of them and made Lamasus their units but Wizards are not that stupid to repeat constantly everfailing experiment so there were no more Lamasus created, hence Necromancers did not have a source of this creatures, hence Lamasus have never been seen again in Ashan.
Let's move to the last point - Bone Dragons. As mentioned before, dragons are children of Dragon Gods and mass extinction did not affect them, hence resources for Bone Dragons' production are present not that rare. The first Bone Dragon was in fact Spectral Dragon and was created by Belketh around the time of Heroes VI. Their popularity increased dramatically during Void-related disease among Necro creatures in SoD (when also Namtarus were affected) and later they replaced Namtarus completely after this mass extinction.
I hope that it explains all concerns about Lamasus, Namtarus and Bone Dragons.

And where did you get this information? I cannot remember an article on mmh7.com about this mass extinction and in heroes online glories still exist. The only thing I could find is in the description of the cuirassier, where it says that there are not many sun riders left (not all extinct though). Could you give us the source of your information?

I don't really want Lamasu or Fate spinner back. Lamasu has a stupid design, and fate spinner is yet another spider queen trope, bleh.
Necropolis should really be about monstrosities, not some fantasy cliches.

According to recent votes we won't see Manticores in Dungeon. Does it make Lammasu a part of Necropolis line-up?
I'd be extremely pleased with such a news. What do you think?

It would fill an empty spot that is needed in the game, but i don't really like the lamasu. too much flesh and skin you know.
plus i like my Necropolis as free from beasts as possible, with the possible exceptions of bone dragons, skeletal mounts and various beast-bones put in a big freak construct. just beasts seems a bit... non-spooky i guess? too reliant on strength or power rather than cunning, reducing moral and numbers, which is what i liked about old school Necro.
