Everything pale, tall, slender and halfway attractive in fantasy looks "Elvish".
Just like everything burly with a beard looks "Dwarfish".

Indeed. You are right War-overlord.
I'd better stick to the "Blaahh"...

The right one is clearly elvish, because she is a half-elf. The picture is from D&D 3,5 Monster Manual, where vampire was a template that could be added to any humanoid creature. The vampires on the picture are from the examples in the book a human vampire fighter and a half-elf vampire monk.
Mmmhmm. Thank you for clearing it up.
But, imho, War-overlord has a point, too.
Anyway, I insist they are not bad. In fact, anything diferrent from the Arthas stereotype suits me (even the ridiculous H4 vampire I always thought of as a tragic depiction for a Heroes game Vampire...)

It did get revised... by a fan.
Seriously, that's the only hope to fix the shortcomings of the game.

I'm content with neither, so eh... I really don't get why they didn't just go with 3D in general, especially with towns looking so good on maps as objects.
I'm actually glad they didn't go with 3D. Maybe it was the H5 art style but I never liked any of those towns. The spinning was annoying, you couldn't make out any of the buildings, and it was too blocky.
I would have preferred the h3 look for the castles screens. The more realistic look plus the view of the city walking up to the actual castle
