Why not a Vampire dressed like Vlad Tepes(=The Impaler)? He's Dracula after all, the father of all vampires, his clothes are medieval (from the 15th century) and Romania is my homeland

I'm gona love to see the return of Death Knights (and really headless would be great! I imagine them to have a sword in one hand and there head in the other - no shield, they are already dead and never fear to die again).
This is absolutely brilliant.

Also to see the bloodsucking vamp from H3. Vampires dont need lethal weapons like swords and dont need armors in battle. H3 has the best conception for them. They must turn into shadow, bats, wolfs, ravens, etc, and sneak near the victims. There may be hero with specialty that make stem not only regenerate, but also increasing their count in battle.
Yep, I agree, swords are for pussies ! They need to be those scary, hair-raising,frightening,blood-curdling creatures they once were in H3.

I think Necro should be more like the Heroes V one, with lots of skeletons, with a powerful magic and with less green (a 50-50 combination between dark and green would be better than the Heroes VI's Necro, although the Egyptian theme is quite good for me).
P.S. This photo by SepSpring is a good example of it :

H6 is probably the game where I like Necropolis the most, thanks to the new units. I know a reinvention is expected but I hope the Lamassu & Fate Weaver are retained, especially if the other champion has to be a dragon... I absolutely hate Necropolis in H5, Wight/Wraith was a joke and the units looked cheap, so I hope the H6 direction is continued.
My favourite thing in H6 Necropolis is the town theme music, I expect something as epic for both Academy & Necropolis in H7!

@LizardWarrior: in Stoker's novel (where all the vamp thing start) its clearly said that Dracula is not Romanian, but Székely, speak Hungarian, and is not Vlad the Impaler, but just one of his relatives. The movies messed all this...
... but I like his outfit (for a vampire king) and the pop culture connect the vampires with him, so its going to be nice, if maybe they reduce the red a lil bit.
The champ creature for necro must be something EPIC. So I vote bone dragon or even something like this.
@OnLy4DuNgEoN: I wasnt high. The idea comes from another Stoker novel: The lair of the white worm. I really love Gothic Victorian horror stories.
@artu: I agree. Vamps may be Victorian, but we must keep the medieval look of the skeletons. As for mummies, they can be upg zombie. They are close as creatures after all.
1: Skeleton/Skeleton Warrior (medieval)
2: Zombie/ Mummy (medieval/egyptian)
3: Ghost/ Poltergeist (medieval - they may have some ghost like clothing)
4: Vampire/ Vampire Lord (victorian)
5: Lich/ Archlich (medieval/ancient)
6: Dark Knight/ Death Knight (medieval)
7: Bone Dragon/ Dread Dragon or Plague Worm/ Death Worm (medieval)

This. I basically only played Necro in H5 and not only I didn't get bored of Wraiths, they were the coolest creatures along with Vamps.
I think this is really important for a faction, to have that something that makes you hit play again. They had that something in H5, at least for me.

I definitely respect your opinion bro, but i couldn't agree less with you. Don't know if it's a troll thing because you must be the first person i find in the entire planet who dislikes the super cool Wight/Wraith and likes the H6 Necropolis units and music! I mean come on, at least you have to agree that the town theme music of the Heroes 5 was just great, as good as Heroes 3!

I love Necropolis in every game. They're fun to play in all 3 heroes games I've actually spent more than five minutes on (3, 5, and 6- didn't like 4) and I think that Wraiths/Wights are awesome and look awesome. My favourite Necropolis unit in 6, though, has got to be the Lamasu. I learn about most mythological creatures from these games and Lamasu is an interesting one.

That's sad, but I'm not optimistic enough to believe that Ubi will change the direction Necropolis is heading right now. Spiders, toxic green and occultism...
Still, I dream that Necropolis this time will focus more on the "brutal or might" side of the faction. I'd gladly see Vain as a campaign hero who can lead army of-less-twisted undeads . I don't believe that we will not see Namtaru again - even if I liked her in H6 I don't think that she suits Necropolis so well.
Race Skill:
Necromancy - I enjoy its version from H6. I prefer to raise dead on the battlefield than dozens of skeletons after battle . If it was on my I would keep it as it was in H6.
Units:
CORE:
Skeleton -> Ebon Guard
Melee fighter. This time thicker than in previous games. Special ability of decreased damage taken from ranged attacks would be great and could make it a town's core unit tank.
Striga -> Banshee (DoC version)
I'm not sure about the name, but this unit could be an interesting replacement for H6's ghoul. Fast but with low health points. Unit could have activated ability similar to H4's berserker's special ability.
Mummy -> Moonsilk Mummy
Core unit ranged/caster. Casts weakness on the enemies. Do not inflict direct damage but dots (damage over time).
ELITE:
Vampire -> Vampire Lord
Teleporter. Melee. Damage dealer. Sucker .
This time vampire could get rid of the fancy sword and use fangs or claws.
Spectre -> Lich
Classical lich with incorporeal ability. No spells, only damage.
Background: Necromancy adepts who decides to leave their bodies, but still study dark magic and worship Asha .
Lammasu -> Putrid Lammasu
I'm sorry, but I love this unit. I always wanted to see sphinx in Heroes game.
Fast flyer. Mediocre stats, but very mobile.
CHAMPION(s):
Bone Dragon -> Spectral Dragon
Mediocre stats oriented on defense. Interesting special abilities. Inflict debuffs with melee attack. Upgraded version could get incorporeal ability.
Dark Knight -> Dark Reaper
(Combination of Headless Horseman and Wright)
I just love the idea of Headless Horseman mentioned by one of you before.
Unit could get regeneration like in H4 and his attack could prevent units from be healed/raised from dead. Again, mediocre stats but this time oriented on defense. Interesting special abilities.

I can't like the Aztec theme of the town. I just can't. There is something wrong in it. And was already used in the H3 for swamp. Its just not necro.
Games like Warcraft are still very popular, for they keep their classical view. And here our developers change everything in 5 years. I want classical Necro!

I like this, I think they should use it. I missed the incorporeal ability in heroes 6, I was hoping ghosts had it but they didn't.
The only thing I'd have to disagree with is the bone dragons/spectral dragons. They're always the weakest high-level/champion unit, and I liked that they changed it in heroes 6. Because it felt like I should actually get that last creature dwelling. Incorporeal ability would help with that some, but overall I hope they give it more defense/HP this time around if they use it.

I think that there will be some connection with H2 Necropolis. That could mean Mummies, or Undead Dragons, but I'm not sure how the former could work out. Whether core or elite, either would be possible with adequate lore.
Also, with elves unequivocally sporting healthy green, I think H7 necropolis will undergo a much needed recolour, so in my opinion, those of you who are fed up with verdant skellies, can take more optimistic outlook on things : ).
From some previous suggestions, a drummer skeleton really caught my attention. That could be a nice variety to ghost support units, or they could be offensive type just the same. I dig this idea : D

Lammasu is cool and he would be ideal for Dungeon or Academy or something similar. He instantly reminds me of the Manticore of H3. He is just not necro. A necro town should consist of classical undead units.

They had both manticore and lamassu in H6, they were almost the same, but at the end of the day Manticore won any battle for badassery. Just dump lamassu and let manticore in Dungeon, there's no need to put 2 very similar units and let more unique ones out. Also in Persian/Babylonian mythology, Lamassu was a winged bull with a human face, not a lion...

I think the best undead creatures art-wise are the Skeleton Warriors and Power Liches from HoMM3.
THAT IMO, is the best art style for the faction

So, Undead Manticors reminds you of Manticors from H3? WELL NO SH*T!
I like those flying abominations spreading Plague everywhere(but this time it should be a Plague that works, and not buffing enemy units ).
They are cool, but I would also be fine with them.
Darkem lineup of creature is pretty good, but he should really work on names and upgrades, because Spectres upgrading into Liches doesn't make any sense, nor Banshees being tier 1 units. :/
