I suggested a possible line-up in the Creatures game thread:
Steyn said:
Sanctuary
Core:
1 coral priestess (= medusa)
2 dragonfly
3 kappa
Elite:
1 kensei
2 basilisk
3 water spirit thingy
Champion:
1 kirin
2 hydra
Now we're talking

And look how well that went for HoMM 4..
So it's the villains for the second installment vs. the villains of the third installment. Except I'm not sure there history has any relevance in regard to the final product?

Sigh... Kha-Beleth's campaign. He is just the right person to show us that demons are not only bent on Destruction

There is no Kha-Beleth campaign I know of, only a Kha-Beleth plan, and said Kha-Beleth plan is still "hanging from the cliffs", which is my gripe with the whole set-up.
Of course, demons COULD be more than just destroyers - but they ARE NOT, not in Ivan's time, since they can't even be on Ashan outside of an eclipse.

I mean a story about how he rose to power and thwarted all Overlords.
They don't need to be in Ashan. Inferno campaign might as well be in Sheogh ^_^
And in H6 Inferno campaign wasn't about destroying everything (though there was an Eclipse on the background and other factions fought against Demons).

Yeah, great campaign will that be. Some demon prince battling one map after the other against other demon armies until he wins - and now he has somehow made it to Ivan's table to tell the story of that demon battles.
Funtastic.

It depends on imagination. Kha-Beleth (or his minions) might go out to Ashan to collect some artifacts/anything. The idea in itself is great, but requires good inracnation into the game.
And it was also said that campaigns will be consisted of 2-4 (if memory serves right) maps. Inferno might be that campaign of only 2 maps. The first map - a normal game, the second - boss rush (all six Overlords). And the one to tell the tale might be Kiril - he's a Griffin.
Yeah, Inferno has huge potential.

*facepalm*
OF COURSE it has potential - but not in Ivan's time and not with some human brat commanding its forces? Are you kidding? I said already I'm not interested in Kiril or Raelag relating some tale of one Inferno army beating another in one map and then one Inferno beating an Inferno Overlord on the second. That's not potential, that's just boring.

What's boring for you is potential for another. You really read through my lines - I said that those battles with Overlords (who 99% will be bosses, so no Inferno VS Inferno all the time) might be interrupted with trips to Ashan and fighting another factions for artifact or something else. Get an arfifact/etc then return and defeat an Overlord.
Yes, my version IS boring too, but I'm just making a sketch, ofc it's boring. There may be another cool things in between fights with Overlords.
At least it's better than having 2 elf factions.

Unfortunately, we will have 2 elven factions in the end, you'll see. Pools here alone favour Dungeon heavily. I imagine is gonna be the same case with wider community.

If I'm not mistaken, majority here voted for Strength line-up (read for Unicorns). Who is winning now?
HC's polls are by no means something on which you can determine the outcome of the voting.

Yeah, but faction voting is much more simple. 2 Options as compared to three, and people who like their prefered faction won't just simply vote for another one xD
Albeit we'll see. I hope I'm wrong.

I hope you're wrong too

No brainer. Dungeon all the way. Heroes need 6 basic faction in every hero game. After that they can add inferno, fortress (but with less dwarves) or some other faction, but the big 6 are a must.
