No, but they are increasingly rare and becoming rarer still. By HV they are nearly extinct with only a handfull still alive.
Also, I suspect we'll see Hydras making a return, rather then Faceless.

That's sad  I hoped faceless will return, what with them being a very unique concept, and the cause dark elves became, well, dark. Can't Ubi just retcon their extinction?

Exactly.
In that lineup from Alex, I would change Faceless for Hydras and Raptor Riders for something, as I am not really fond of them. Now that we have harpies in Stronghold(probably) I don't think that Blood Furies would work(except if they change them a lot) so some other creature from Dungeon or Chakram Dancers I guess?
Having both Manticore and Hydra would be amazing, as Hydra would be proper Champion unit like in H3/H4.

That is a possiblilty, but that would make Dungeon HVI+Hydra. I was hoping for a little more creativity.

I hope for this Although I think hydras would be better in Sanctuary. Aren't they in Heros Online?

Well... i just realized who the Dungeon Councillor might be.
Jorgen. Another character from H6 that has some connection to the Griffin family. I think he also played a considerate role in SoD campaigns?

I think I want the Hydra back but with Sanctuary. It fits better there Imo. That's the race that has the highest probability to take a turn for the old Fortress of Heroes 3. So I'd save it for them.
How about this:

Or make the manticore a core unit. Like this, but with a scorpion tail:
At least that would explain why the wizards tried to create the lamasu. A really powerful manticore does not require tinkering with, unless it would not be controllable otherwise (which the dark elves can).

Harpies are already with Stronghold. They feature in the Iconic Allies list in the Compendium. I highly doubt they'd switch to Dungeon.

That is more or less the case. Manticore are creatures that got corrupted by Darkness nodes. Which is why the get along well with the DElves.
Wizards tried to use them as the basis of realy powerfull beastmen, but they proved very unstable and died to their own poison. However, that did not prevent Necromancers from ressurecting them. Since Undead cannot be poisoned, Lamasu proved very usefull to the Necromancers.

I don't now I've thought about it. If we are gonna start combining Sanctuary and HIII Fortress, we'll likely get another hybrid monstrocity like Infernopolis. No the Swamp Creatures are better left waiting in the wings, untill they get a true turn. Revenge is a dish best served cold.

There isn't Sanctuary in Heroes Online. Hydras however are amoung Kenshi, Kappa and Sharkman but all they are called Jade Coast creatures.
And there is a Hydra boss in Forgotten Site dungeon.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the faceless in champion position. The sylvan lineups had 3 available champions and I would guess that blackies and hydras are a given. So..

I dunno Elvin. First it depends on Dungeon being chosen by "da fanz", though that's not that much of a stretch.
However, they might do the voting on the line-up different next time round.

You heard him, Hydras confirmed as Dungeon champ.
Obviously the shadow of the Black Dragons will be too big for them, so they'll never be picked, just like in H4 :[

I always picked Hydras in HIV. I could cheat Blackies.

I didn't want to include Faceless as Champion in my proposition given their tendency to extinction.
I think that with the choosing of the 6th faction there will be a line-up vote following, just like in Sylvan's case. So Black Dragons are a given as Champion for all 3 options. What do you guys think we might see as the second Champions? I really wouldn't like to see Hydra because as I said, I find that it fits with Sanctuary a lot more. Then we have Faceless but they're going extinct. So what do we have left if not Manticores?

I'm having some problems imagining what would fit tho. It must be champion material and relevant as an alternative for the Black Dragons. You got any ideas?
