- Interesting.- Drago said-. Here's what I propose. I along with Francis and his kin, and a few others, will go into the keep via one of those secret passage ways. Your mounted men, if you have any- He said to the Brother's of Francis- Would use that breach to get into the castle yard itself. meanwhile, those unmounted, will help us harass the garrison in any way we can. I checked out stores after we've dealt with ogres back in Trakonia. there is enough shot made for two more hwacha salvos. other than Blackbird using his magic, we have no other way to further keep them occupied, except maybe shooting at them from our crossbows. If you have siege engineers with you, that would come in handy.

- We move out in two hours! I want to see full battle gear on every single one of you!
With that said, the company began packing up the camp. After a few hours the company was on the move, with more and more Calandrie bannermen joining in the march. The force was moderate, and Drago counted about 700 men in total.
The march was short, and soon enough the castle was within range of a trebuchet shot. Dragomir halted everyone.
- We'll set up camp here. Adrian, let your engineers set up the trebuchets. John here can help them out. Now then- he addressed the others.- are there any volunteers to tag along and infiltrate the keep with Me and Francis' kin?

Infiltration was something I was very familiar with. Even though there weren't many places to infiltrate apart from houses and shacks on our journey, the sheer thought of it gave me goosebumps. Of course, this wouldn't be a sneaky infiltration that I'm accustomed with, but I will get to ride a horse - and who doesn't want to ride a horse?

We'll need some minutes to open the passage, as it's hidden by vines and an huge rock, the passage basically is made in such a way that you can both enter and exit, as it was meant for a way to smuggle the treasure in case things went awry.-
After some time they were almost halfway through the forest. Adrian then spoke up -Mage Halfman, I believe you mentioned being able to move rocks? We could enter more easily by not wasting our time on pushing it- Lucius then took the word -We'll need to be careful once we enter, remember to take the left passage, not the right one, as it will bring us directly to the treasury, and it could be dangerous if the guards spot us, the left passage was meant as a diversion as it brings both to our quarters and to one of the upper towers of the keep, considering what we have to do we'll need to take that one, then we'll take a series of secret stairs to reach the gates, 'tis another hidden passage, that brings to the first tier of the walls, allowing us to reach the gates easily.-
The group finally reached the point where the secret passage was.
-Indeed, as you see there is a bit of a clearance here, usually you would find that here the vines were cleared, as we did to go to the village, I see that without me you didn't go out as often, am I right? Anyway, this should be the point, Halfman, if you could do the honors?-

- I'm a Samann mage, not an elementalist.- Halfman said.- Blackbird, the short bonswadan is. But he's of better use as a man sized trebuchet. Also him being a Brek graduate means that the buggers manning this castle are sh!ting their pants at a sight of an army hundred thousand strong surrounding the bloody castle.
- Less talking more pushing.- Dragomir said and began to push the boulder away. The others joined in and minutes later, the entrance was uncovered. Drago and the rest heard screams and stones smashing the walls of the keep. A volley of explosions shook the walls. The company must've loosened the hwacha.
- After you.- Drago said to Francis while pointing at the entrance.

The passages were still unguarded, the last one would bring them to the gates. -Now, get your weapons ready, we'll get out at the gates, there may be some guards at the door though. Are we ready?-

as the hidden doorway opened, a familiar stench of heavy fragrance fouled the air, lavender being most prominent. Dragomir unsheathed his kindjal and went straight for the guard on his left. Halfman's spell devastated the undead guard on the right. impaling the lightly armored guard, he signalled the others to come, as he unsheathed his sword. The amber on the swords growed brightly.

-We may storm through the keep, they may have bolted the entrance, but the bakery in the third tier actually hides another passage, let's just say that we bribed some builders to give us access to the storage... The baker never guessed why the cakes went missing... Let's get down these stairs, either way we take we'll have to face enemies, so we'll have to run for that building over there. They won't be expecting this move, plus we get to go directly inside my old bedroom...-

Meanwhile Magnus coordinated the siege engines. The Calandrie had not only boulders, but also containers filled with pitch, and before launching it was ignited with a torch, so upon contact burning pitch would pour down on the defenders.
- One more with the pitch lads!- He commanded. The deadly projectiles flew out at the direction at the castle.
As Halfman predicted, Blackbird worked his illusion magic, creating images of heavily armored soldiers, siege engines and bonswadan war lions. along with that, few of his animated boulder golems were pounding at the gate of the castle. they were a temporary distraction, but disguised as half-giants with the help of the wizard's illusion magic, managed to waste up the burning oil supply of the garrison.

"Happy i'm not in there right now" Elena said to Guinevre and Mikolaj standing next to her together with the loaded Hwacha. When the gate would come down there was little to stop a salvo of rockets and that time was getting closer. On the ground lay the next bunch of rockets, already tied together and ready to be loaded once the first salvo was away. It wouldn't fill up the entire Hwacha but would be enough to make some difference.
"Is this what you two signed up for?" she tried to start some small talk. Sieges were always dreadfully boring when not up front.

- I joined for a few reasons.- Mikolaj began.- first of all, I'm a basterd. Even though I'm oficially bear the Raddwil name, trust me, there will be little for me when my lord father passes on to Vellyn's halls. That's one. The few brothers and sisters I have left would never want even a portion of Raddwil wealth be in a hands of a basterd. The second reason is my late brother Krystoph, called the Thunder by some folk. Even though he was way older than I am, he was always nice to me. You can say that I wish to be like him.- He sighed.

Hmm, now that I think about it, I may have been a bit misleading when I said that I was gonna ride a horse. What I meant was that with all the loot I would get from the castle, I'd finally be able to buy one.
So I got to work immediately and started loading my pouch with exquisite jewelry and such, but kept a watch on the rest of the crew, lest they catch me stealing from their property.

The group reached the main hall, only to find it guarded by two dozens or so undead guards, while Marcus was nowhere to be found.
-That was disappointing... Adrian, do we have another plan?- Francis said
-We need to get to his rooms, or even the dungeons! Parkkun forbid we may not find him here!-
Lucius then spoke up: -I don't want to interrupt you, but we may have to defend ourselves...-
-Of course... Just crush their ribs...-

Lucius took his mace and slammed it right in the chest of one of the guards, crushing the abomination and ultimately destroying it.
Adrian was not less capable, he ripped the armor from a guard with his Guisarme and then pierced the chest of one of the guards.

Halfman unleashed a devastating spell upon the undead guardsman. his ray of concentrated sunlight pierced several of the undead, killing them, and igniting them from within.
Dragomir fended off the few of them who jumped on him. Drago went as far as disembody their limbs before eventually going for their hearts.
The undead guardsmen were finished off fast, to a large part thanks for Halfman's magic.
The group was catching it's breath.
- Let's move upstairs to the bedchambers, then we'll clear out the dungeon- Dragomir proposed.
