Out of nowhere, Elena stood behind them short practice sword in hand. "I will strike at you and you will try to block my hits. Before we begin you might want to tie that pretty hair of yours up." Elena proceeded to bring out a small band from her pocket for that very purpose and handed it over. "Wouldn't want it to get in the way now."

- A dagger would be best paired with a smallsword. It would give you more reach and more defense.-Allikha advised.- You should talk to Magnus after, maybe he's in the mood for forging, though I'm highly doubtful about that. The use of a bladed dagger would be simple. Just stick them with the pointy end.- Allikha laughed.- but that's what a bufoon would say. It is more complex than that. You need to work with your feet, as well as watch your oponent. For start we will work on getting that down.- He gestured to some mercs to bring out a burlap ragdoll dummy.
- Get comfortable with your weapon. Adjust to it's weight. It's an extention of your arm. - the orc drawed out his knife.
- once you get the feel of the blade, you can try to swing it. I personally go for the throat. It's usually the least defended part. But your oponent won't just allow you to slash his throat. While he's fending of your strikes, it's a good idea to injure him in the arm or leg, thus lowering his fighting capability. It is important to remember to adjust your center of weight. Otherwise you can tumble off and seriously hurt yourself. You're nimble. Which is good. Your small stature will make you difficult to hit. We will work on that later. For now we'll learn the basics. Now show me, how would you hit an oponent.- He said. Allikha turned to the other trainees.

- See? That's how to do that. And this way you can dodge any blow which comes your way. I'll show it one more time. Then it'll be your turn to replicate the move- Allikha repeated his attack on the dummy, then stepped aside to let Guinerve try. She did it decently. Allikha had to adjust her posing a bit, but soon enough she did it flawlessly.
- Splendid!- The master-at-arms sounded very pleased, as a headless dummy hit the ground.- you're cut from a different cloth than the usual nitwit I get to train from scratch. Now for a change someone actually can follow simple instructions.

"So" Elena said, getting herself in position. "All you need to do is stop my attacks. fail, and it will hurt." She did a strike Guinevre easily parried.
"Like that?"
"Yes." There was a second strike, now from the other side, which was also parried. "Well done." Elena began her third strike, but changed angle and hit Guinevre in the shoulder with a silent *smack* which caused her to drop her weapon.
"Ouch! That hurt" she said and bent down to pick up her weapon.
"You won't learn if it doesn't" Elena said, getting in another strike just as she got up.
"Now that's not fair!"
"Fighting never is. Your friend over there-" Elena nodded towards Francis "-hasn't learned that yet. If you do, you're already a better fighter than him. That reminds me of our last duel. I should tel-"
Elena stopped talking as she got hit on her waist, letting out a pained sound.
"Two can play that game" Guinevre smirked.
"I like you already"
and so they continued for a while, Guinevre getting somewhat more alert but still missing more than she parried and by the end she had several bruises all over but hadn't complained any, much to Elena's (and Allikha's) delight.

"Poor Guinevre... Well, at least she'll get better at this, I hope it will happen in time..."
Once the two were finished practicing Francis decided to do something he liked doing to his old friends, so he addressed Elena: -Funny you mention the last time you fought unfairly, and for that I demand satisfaction!- he then took a white leather glove he was wearing at the moment and slapped Elena with it, he then asked Allikha: -Do we have license to duel right now, or do we have to wait for another time?-

Elena slapped back with her own hand. "I accept, but it will have to wait until tomorrow. Guinevre, let me know if you want more practice. You remind me of myself when i started training but with less complaining." She left them quickly before Francis could object further.

-Oh come on, don't be such a child, instead why don't we train a bit?- Said Guinevre in a jokeful tune.
-I'd prefer not, you are covered in bruises right now, I understand that the euphoria of starting this is getting to you, but there is a limit, don't overdo yourself today...- said Francis, not understanding the joke.
-Don't worry, I was just joking, I know you wouldn't fight me, but why did you slap her with the glove? Isn't that... villanous?-
-That is also true, but you see, last time I treated her like I would normally I risked losing my powers of giving inheritance to my children, so I'd prefer not to forget to treat her as she prefers.-
-Oh, come on, you are in the presence of a lady!-
-I'd normally risk greater pains to behave normally, but sometimes, you just cannot win and have to compromise...-

Francis then brought her for a tour of the company, he would have brought her to Isabella, to see if she could teach Guinevre how to become an healer, but at the same time he feared he could get hit with a pot on the head.

- Get Isabell to use that snake venom salve on the lass, these bruises will be gone by tommorow- Allikha said as Francis and Guinerve left. He then turned his attention to the rest of the trainees.
As Zet had already been set out to search the swamps, Dragomir sat by his wagon. all it was now was to wait for his return.
- What's on yer mind?- Magnus asked Drago, while returning with Drago's horn filled with wine.
- A lot my friend. a lot.- He said as Magnus gave the horn to him. Drago took a large sip from it.
- This whole ordeal is getting more fould by the minute. first ogres, now the living dead. lesser voidspawn. what's next? should be bloody greater voidspawn by the looks of it.
Magnus laughed.
- ah, don't be down on yer spirits me lad. We've seen worse. aye, but ye should know that the goblet, if it damn well exists is sought after be many.

The sun was almost setting and Francis remembered he had to bring Guinevre to Isabella, no matter the risk.
"Let's hope all goes well" Thought Francis, he felt that the woman always seemed irritated from his presence, and tried to go to her station as few times as possible.
-So, for our next stop I'll bring you to Isabella, our best healer, I'll see if we can arrange a training course for you to learn her craft, if she's willing...-
A shiver went down his spine...

Evening soon arrived.
With his magic Blackbird raised a stone monolith, which was supposed to serve as a lookout point.
Drago appointed one of the lower ranking members of the company to be the lookout.
It has been well over several hours since Zet with a few others went out to find the men residing in the swamp.
- I wonder what's taking him so long. Zet shoud've been back rigth now- Drago said.
- Men approaching! Zet is with them!- The lookout yelled out.
Behind Zet's back were 50 or so men, armed with a wide range of weapons, from war schytes to more sophisticated ones, such as swords and crossbows. Few of the men had a distinct nobility aura about them, they seemed to recognize Francis and Guinerve.

When Francis saw the nobles that came with Zet he was overjoyed and ran towards them: -Lucius! You're safe! It fills me with such joy to see my kin still lives, who's that man beside you?-
-Francis! It's great to see you again, how can you not recognize him?-
-Give him a break Lucius, last time we talked was almost ten years ago, Francis, 'tis me, Adrian!-
-Dammit, you grew up so incredibly, and good job with the beard, it makes you look much older! How are my brothers doing?-
Lucius then started talking: -Well, you see , we are trying to reclaim our land, no big thing...-
-Stop it with your sarcasm Lucius, Francis, how do you think we are doing if we are staying in the swamps?-
-Pretty damn badly, I thought our father was keeping our lands safe?-
Adrian started explaining the recent events: -Father is at the verge of death, me and Lucius escaped the castle once the Corneille Noire troops besieged us, they came with an army so large that we couldn't hope to resist. Our Father stayed there, and we managed to learn that he still lives, but is ill.
Right now the castle is ruled by Marcus, after he was forced into becoming a vassal of the Lady in Purple...-
Lucius then clarified the identity of the lady: -By lady in purple he means the cousin of Guinevre, Viola. As far as we know lord Charles is also ill and forced to stay in his bed.-
-Excuse me, but, am I the only one that didn't know about this Viola?-
-Indeed, you were so focused in getting away...- said Lucius
-Oh come on, that was low...- said Francis.
-Do you know why my cousin did this?- Guinevre decided to interject the brief family reunion.
-Oh, salutations lady Guinevre, no we don't know that...- Adrian started talking, but was taken back by Lucius, who was whispering something to him, the two were chuckling because of that.
-So, you two are returning together?- Asked Lucius in a jokeful tone.
-Not exactly, let's just say that returning home makes you meet people you know...- Francis started answering, but was stopped by Guinevre: -We serve the same company now, there is time for that later.-
Lucius then said: -So, Marcus doesn't have to marry her anymore?- -Of course he does, unless she is already married, you bonehead.- said Adrian -So what if we go to the castle? What happens?- -If she is unmarried she has to marry Marcus, it's their duty-
-No way I'm marrying Marcus!- Guinevre interrupted the two, to which Adrian responded: -But how can we enter the castle then? We are bound by our oaths, and Marcus doesn't have any authority to not respect it.- Francis interjected: -Well, she doesn't have to follow us in the castle, we could leave her in custody to the company- Guinevre interrupted them again: -But Francis, you swore an oath right this morning!- -Right, dammit, if you are under the castle I don't think I'm abandoning you...- -Yes, but the moment somebody recognizes me I'll get captured and forced to marry your brother!- -So... I won't go to the castle then.- Lucius then said: -I'll marry Guinevre!- to which Francis and Adrian answered: -No you won't...-.
Francis decided to end the discussion: -Well then, I think we should talk about this after eating, right now we should see what you learned during this period...-
