So far, I am having fun. Played 10 hours yesterday. About to start again. Sorry for those of you who find it unsatisfactory or for whom it does not perform well on your machines. Hopefully a better game comes along for you!

I don't even make it that far with Heroes 6 . 10 hours is a lot, especially for 'only' 2 maps and 2 factions (although a higher difficulty setting requires longer playing, of course). Well, if the game would perform better on my machine I would have spend a lot more time playing it. Now I just did what I could and mostly focused on bughunting.

I've enjoyed playing with the beta, even with numerous glitches which hopefully get fixed before release. I'm a little surprised with the adventure map AI though, as some others have mentioned. I played the small map twice, once as Haven and once as Academy, and both times the AI side did essentially nothing. When I got into the AI side of the map, in both games there were two weak heroes sitting in exactly the same spot waiting to be fought (and easily beaten). Not sure what to make of this except that adventure AI just isn't implemented yet. I guess that although I like as much of the game as I've seen I don't see how this can be released in September. Only two factions shown with a lot of bugs and only partial AI is going to take a bit longer. I hope they don't release the game in abominable shape.

and here i am getting so tired with this beta! i mean i like the feel of the game and the music is top notch, but almost nothing works!!! i worked my @ss off for the grandmaster paragon ability (master of magic) and in the end it didn't work! i had my novice prime spells that were not casted at the master rank(as the ability indicates) or it didn't show! and it's smth that people had to pay to "enjoy"...
also with the enormous amount of bugs and the extremely poor quality of this beta, for only two factions mind you, it seems we are heading to another heroes 6 fiasco for sure. no way in sheogh will this game be ready with all 6 functions working properly in 3 months. the game will be delayed and then the patches will arrive and then the support will stop and then we will have yet another "could have been" game. aah ubisoft...

Heroes 5 test is incorrect, Quantomas reprogrammed the AI to make a map scan in the first turn, to speed up the other turns later, the first turn takes significantly more time than the later turns.

So, let me put my input here as well as i posted it in the official forums:
1. The Graphics need a lift. Trees look pixelated, there colors feels washed out, the resources are hard to distinguish etc etc.
2. Animations need to be worked on! Some work, some don't, others work and look weird, like the Gargoyle flying, or units that look move like chess pawns. Also, the animations of heroes casting spells needs to be better.
3. The Sound needs serious enrichment. More voices to the units, Some of the voices, like the sentinels and sisters sound weird and ugly. Others like the Cabir are too loud etc. Magic don't have appropriate Sound effects, nor do the casting have any sound. More background sounds need to be present. If you can, reuse some from previous titles, like heroes V and prior.
3.1 What's with the sound of wind in every battlemap? It gets annoying after a time.
4. Increase the movement points of heroes. I feel like the game takes forever because i can't do much each turn unless i am on a road. Either decrease the penalty from terrains and grabbing resources/buildings or increase the movement points.
5. More Diverse battlemaps with more and varied obstacles that can give cover and protections. Smaller and bigger ones as well, with more details and association to where on the map the battle takes place.
6. Artifacts don't always work. Sometime i equip an artifact and it doesn't give the bonuses it should. Other time, i equip it and then disappears and other nuances like that.
7. The game needs better zooming and more free zooming
8. Please, please, please work on the Interface and the towns and if able, make different Interfaces for each Faction.
8.1. Make the Recruit tab of the town also provide more info on the units and the bestiary like previous titles did.
9. Town building costs need to be increased and also the leveling of the town be balanced a bit to allow for a slower progression. In the small map, on easy, i finished the Town very soon and my hero was still lvl4
10. Difficulty levels need to be fixed. On easy mode, the hero gets experience very hard and thus, the town is finished before i reached lvl5. That meant that i always fought very low numbered stacks of enemy units, i didn;t get exp, couldn't build my hero and in the end, got bored of the game and just went with auto-combat.
11. During combat, the pathway of the units change just before you click on them, and that ends up with the unit attack up front rather than by flanking
11.1 My ballista at times attacked my own unit instead of the enemy
11.2 The action of a warfare unit or an ability of a unit causes a loong lag before the next unit can act.

agaphte all of the animations need work! and lots of it. you can't even name that half finished because this "beta" is closer to the "start" point of the progress bar, than at the finish point!!
i wonder how they actually released that!

Well file mou, at least we do have a working project at the very least. Let's hope that when the beta ends, they will gather all the info we have given them, work on it and then enter a new beta (or would it be gamma?) phase at early August.

this was reall the pre-alpha version, if not the alpha. after this "beta" ends and all the bugs reported, fixed then we may enter the real beta with all the factions..
and you think they will work at full staff on the summer? and i really don't think that we have gathered enough info. just the more obvious things. and just for two factions and maps... my faith is lost:/

I want to believe that even with these two factions we may pinpoint universal problems that might apply to all factions or be prevented for the other factions. Surely, now it should have been an open beta and then there should be a closed beta with the full content.
But, for now, we can do the best we can with what we are given.
To be honest, i am enjoying the game even with just two factions and only half the neutrals available. Imagine with 4 more factions how much more fun it could be

To me the game feels very much like alpha-stage. I have beta-tested a handful of games so I do have little comparison point too.
I finally got around to try haven, "try" being the key word. I played 30-45 min and it felt just like h6 haven to me in general. I just felt so bored I couldn't bring myself to continue. The racial like with academy feels like a huge let-down to me. You can increase morale from so many places it feels stupid to me having that as racial. The chance to have "full" extra turn instead of "half" is indeed very powerful and it felt like it's the only reason to build racial. On academy the extra turn for hero felt like only reason to build racial. Difference being really IMO that academy racial works better in short game while haven has much better racial in long game.(Then again academy kinda needs couple spell schools to make best of situation so it's not that early unless you go for single target spells...)
Tier-system feels roughly the same as h6 and how I felt playing h7 academy. Very few units are dying, about 100 archers can't even kill 10 golems(out of 30) at close range. elites can't kill their own stack-size core and for champs same goes roughly against elite. The battles feel very strung out to me. Ohh boy just imagine fighting with giant army and lvl 1 hero on both sides...
Also I tried the random system, it does work in a way. It makes me feel like an idiot though since the abilities are clearly designed to work for specific hero types so most of the time there isn't really a choice there if any. Frankly I wouldn't play the game on the random system, it is clearly an after-thought and not meant to be played with it IMO.
All in all, I won't be buying this game. Maybe when price is around 20-30€ AND it has good mods. I just don't find the game enjoyable really. With academy it wasn't as bad as haven, but that's partly since academy was missing from h6

EXACTLY THAT!! it doesn't just feel like an after-thought, it shamelessly shows it's an after-thought!what on earth was so wrong with the randomness of the leveling system that they insist on not building around it?????
if we were allowed to only one perk per rank the random system would have some meaning. now that you can choose anything you want, you just wait for the next level up to get it -.-
i ll handicap myself on this one:/

I think it was very positive reception of King Bounty legend series. But this game had a lot of other things going for it + you needed to find the right combinations of runes to get the desired skills.

All hail the Spider God
On a serious note, my main concern from the start is the loss of randomness and element of surprise (you know every stack, you know if they will join you, skills, one could say spells too as there are very few of them...)

Diversity is definitely going to be a big issue this game. All the champions are too similar strength wise. Titans arnt even anything special. They all coat the same gold to build the dwelling which was immediately a red flag.
I can't help but notice that the tier 6, or top elite, is going to be a melee walker for probably most of the factions...which really sucks. We're already 2 for 2 and unless the Druid or medusa end up being the top elite ( I doubt it) then we will be 4 for 4. So I reall hope the Wyverns is at least the 2nd strongest for stronghold so not every top elite is a melee walker. It's bad enough they give ranged elites to every faction but giving them similar stats is an overkill.

i experimented with a different difficulty, in options i raised ai treasure by +1, and suprisingly, it worked! it acts much more logical, collects things, raises a proper army, gains levels. still not good to make me suffer but it is much more healthy then a normal ai. i advise you to create a new game and in custom difficulty set treasure of theirs to be like +1, or +2. im curious about the +2 one, didnt experimented it yet, bu t+1 one gives me some hope.

Indeed a lot of us have been voicing our discontentment after it was confirmed by the reveal articles. Skill system is the biggest deal breaker of all to me.
