Actually Norway is secular, very few here believe in any kind of religion outside of Smiths Friends, Jehovas Witnesses, very very old people or immigrants from other very conservative countries. The few who do are a severe minority.

JJ I meant even if in this life (now) you don't know, in the next you will learn and make your choice.
But you don't believe there is a next life so probably this doesn't count.

There is also a massive difference in being a member of the church and actually believing in the religion. Most people are baptized due to tradition and don't bother removing their membership since it is "free".
37% believe in God (any religion), 39% are atheist and 23% agnostic.

Not in the bible. Bible says, they who believe in me will live. Next life? Only when you believe.

The Bible says also that some will awaken to life and some to judgement. Now, from what I know, a judgement implies a trial. The Bible talks about two RESURRECTIONS.
Please note that this is just how my church interprets things.
1 Timothy 4:10 For to this we toil and strive because we have hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of believers. 11 Command and teach these things.

What has Timothy 4:10 to do with resurrection? Nothing at all.
John 11:25f: "Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the lifee he that believeth on me, though he die, yet shall he live; and whosoever liveth and believeth on me shall never die.

What is the wages of sin? Death.
What does Jesus save from? Death.
What does being saved from death mean? It means you will live again.
As in Adam all die, all in Christ will be made alive.
It doesn't say that if you don't know about Christ in this life you are doomed, does it? Only if you know about him and still refuse.

While I don't agree with that, suppose it is as you say. Then what about those who don't know about Christ? They certainly don't believe in him, not knowing about him. If they still have a chance on the same things that those have who know about him, it' obviously better to never have heard from him, sparing you from the believe-or-not conundrum. If not, they are obviously at a massive disadvantage, right?

Wrong. Jesus saves us from death. That means all of us get resurrected and get an opportunity to obey Christ. If we refuse, we die the second death. End of the line.
What I am trying to say is that according to my church's interpretation you DO get a second chance.
And if you obey him from this life you get rewarded after the resurrection.

That sounds silly. I mean, you die. Then you are resurrected and the guy asks do you believe in me. Well, OF COURSE you do, he just resurrected you.
How would you obey him, if you never heard of him? That doesn't seem possible.

Not just believe He exists. But obey the commandments. That's what it's all about.
You get a choice. Live the way God meant you to or live your own way and suffer the consequences.
Silly, maybe, but it's much better than eternal torment for over 90 percent of humanity.

But you cannot obey the commandments if you don't know about them. And if you know it's god who gives you a choice, it's not a choice at all. Once you KNOW He exists and has just resurrected you what choice is there? Or, more correct, why would your choice even matter? If it DOES matter, it's just because HE says so (and makes it so). Your answer is basically "Whatever".

You're right. I shall present this to the church and get back here to you when I have an answer.
The way I see it now, you are right and it's not much of a choice.

Okay JJ, so the answer I got is:
There will be 1000 years for everyone to learn about Christ and God and then be judged according to God's law. At the end of the 1000 years they will be deemed either worthy to live forever or condemned to the second death.
Perhaps this makes more sense. They won't be able to say "whatever, I choose God".
