We have a new player Arcax so we are good to go. Like before I assigned a random number for each and asked Arcax to tell me the pairs, here's what we have

That's what I don't understand... If I know Academy is broken/has a lot of advantages why would I chose it (JUST AN EXAMPLE!! Not saying you suck at balancing Elvin)? Because it increases my chances of winning ?

That's what I don't understand... If I know Academy is broken/has a lot of advantages why would I chose it (JUST AN EXAMPLE!! Not saying you suck at balancing Elvin)? Because it increases my chances of winning?

No, I wasn't in the closed beta...but I have been around for a while, so I'm a veteran in that sense. That doesn't make me a good player though.

Darn it Elvin. I'm addicted to your duel map now. I usually just pick two factions in a hot seat, make the strongest choices for both in levels/arties/spells/etc. and then march them out to face off and let the computer auto fight the side I don't want to play. Its really fun, except yes, the computer is stupid and they are usually one sided slaughters so I try to handicap myself a bit.
Normal maps are getting ruined for me because of the instant gratification of large armies and tons of level ups right away.
Um...the point is thanks to you and Ash for making this map.

Why use auto-combat for one side? For the tests I've done, I set up both sides, and then I fight on both sides. I do a good job at weeding out personal bias (afterall, I can't lose either way), but I suppose that might be a problem for some people.
edit: Plus that's far more useful than just slaughtering the A.I. If I fight myself then I am fighting an opponent of equal skill every game and I can determine what works.

Sorry Adon Always good to hear that I made something people like. And yes vs AI there is little point, I always either control both sides or play with a human. It's the sole reason this map was created, to try smart strategies that the AI cannot.
Btw I updated the masterpost with the matchups chart.

Haha I don't think I can fight myself without bias. I'd always want one of my favorites to win (Academy, Stronghold or Sylvan).
Slaughtering the AI may not make me a better player, but it is a fun stress relief after a hard day of work

Which is just sad. Exploiting an imbalance for your own gains is simply bad taste and has nothing to do with sportsmanship.

Well I have 3 things to say.
1. Nothing can be better than testing the map with your father.
2. If, by ways only by God known, I beat Fiur, I get to play with Ash/Elvin? This is sick, man.
3. In the semi's, where there are 3 qualified, what must we do to pass to the final? Play each vs. each and the 2 with most wins qualify?
