I remember that. However in my case you pick the skills yourself with sphinx leveling so you can pick the right counters. Also remember that the new stormwind helps a lot with the dragon/dryads speed/initiative. From that part the spells and artifacts you will affect the outcome as well so it's hard to tell.

Well, this duel map is balanced, but there are still some matchups that need a bit of attention, like dungeon vs necro or sylvan vs inferno.

I just lost, Eugen passes to next round! Normally I'd demote my status to major n00b but the last game was damn lucky for him Either way both games were fun.
A few comments. The first was academy vs sylvan and motw with arcane armour, regeneration and summon hive saved the day. Eugen's first hit was overwhelming but academy has enough tricks up its sleeve 
The second was inferno vs orcs. What to say, perhaps I should have charged bliindly on! My seducers never got the chance to act and his superior speed and everpresent lucky strikes dispatched my demonic forces before I could do anything. My dark were pretty ineffective even though his shatter was basic.

Duel vs Elvin finished, final score 2-1 for me.
Academy (him) vs. Elves (me)
This was a hard defeat. Wasps can really be a pain btw.

Watched the replays, hmm Sylvan lost again. And got slaughtered (although Academy is pretty darn hard to beat with MoTW and mini-arties going for it).
Saying that Sylvan was the in faction in Doomforges duel is NOT in any way indicative of this current version of Elvin's map/duel system btw. The game has gone through expansions and patches since Doomforge and Elvin's set up is unique. Anyone who draws conclusions from Doomforge's post is a bit simple minded in my opinion.
In this round the are like 0/5? And most weren't close at all. Just seems they could use a beefing up, or that no one knows how to play them right. Outside observation.
On that note. Inferno continues to be weak, but no one seems to want to champion the cause for them. The orcs mopped the floor with them! Winning with 98 warmongers left is kinda yikes.

But I don't think that's fair to Final Boss in regards to those points... I mean, the others will have a chance to get 2 more points.

Omg I’m the boss of the final! I’ll wait here for the last hero, and we’ll see if 3 credits are enough to drain my kilometric hp bar .
Congratulations Eugen! Elvin probably was the strongest opponent of the tournament, so I guess I must prepare for the worst scenarios and hope to be favored by luck again.

That's the spirit! Will add you on msn and contact you when I can.
Meanwhile some replays I had with Arcax.
First is an epic long fight of sylvan vs haven. I pursued destructive, Arcax dark and it was grand There, sylvan doesn't always get losses.
Second was inferno vs orcs, another interesting battle. This time inferno won and the game was more like how I had pictured it when playing with Eugen This time I used swift gating. In the end he should have hit my spawns directly, chances were he would take the game that way.
Final one was necro vs dungeon, funny replay  My implosion and circle/deep freeze with the icicle never came into play hehe.
