And I was under the impression that Dungeon has a slight advantage over Haven.

I had protection artefacts and Magic Resistance.
Balanced? Why? Dungeon can't kill Haven's heavy critters very early, and only 2-3 blows from the Champions squash half of a Dungeon army.

I'm watching them atm but just a quick question:
Why is the first one named Zamfir - Fiur 1?
I have to say that Dungeon played pretty badly in that one.
First, the selection of units: Minotaur Guards? Shadow Matriarchs? why?
Second, killing 4 Angels with Implosion is pretty low damage... you didn't have any +50% damage artifacts? That could seriously change the outcome.

I just watched them, phoenix had his share of mistakes I must say.
In the first match he took attack and luck, why go might at all against haven? Contrary to what you believe Zamfir this is a pretty good match in the sense that anything can happen, not all haven units can act first just like dungeon cannot blast them all at the same time. Both deal brutal damage and try to cripple the other with well placed blows. But one of the must skills for dungeon is swift mind, it simply makes the game so much easier.
About some tactical decisions:
Raiders should never be close to dragons both to improve your offensive chances but also because if the opponent hits you first he greatly decreases them. Suppose he jousted your dragons and the raiders were blocked from charging afterwards. Or if you die in the retaliation and he charges you anyway
Secondly there were no fast units ready to cover you, ideally assassins and furies should be close in case something goes wrong.
Typically you should never blast units that have just played, the champions would be sure to act again before you do either with mass haste or divine guidance.
Killing the crossbowmen was nice but the dragons were left there helpless when they could attack the champions that had already retaliated against the minos.
That and zamfir had a pretty good game 
It's in the second one it's where sylvan usually has an edge. If they get a bit lucky inferno is no match unless it plays exceptionally well. What I would have done differently is pick grunts and firehounds as their alternatives are simply inferior.
It was a good gamble to aim for the dragons that unfortunately did not pay off. Sylvan's boosted initiative(and pretty high attack) did not help much either, probably dragon shield or celerity. The tricky part was in the end when he ignored the single arcane, always be on the lookout for raise dead or resurrection. If the unit was dead it would have taken a while till it acted, tough luck that it survived.
Since you cannot play during week it would be better to try finishing the duels tomorrow evening or even better on Sunday. The final is close, it beckons

Yikes. That Haven-Dungeon match was nasty. Dungeon is the one faction that has a pretty solid chance of beating Haven this time through, but I guess phoenix got shafted with his artifacts. Blasting apart his own troops with chain lightning didn't help either. If I didn't get any elemental artifacts I probably would have tried my luck with summoning, but it's hard to comment without knowing what your options were.
In the 2nd match the Inferno player was a bit too aggressive. Gating in some extra reinforcements (while neutralizing the arcane's with a frenzy or something) would probably have worked out better. Choosing between grunts/overseers isn't a big deal since overseers actually are an on par unit (in these duel matches that don't involve creeping). Grunts have that initial jump attack and then they fall apart like hot butter with their junky defense. But I can't imagine not wanting to choose succubi seducer's.

Seducers are more likely to be shot down before they have a chance to be useful.

My original plan was to go summoning with dungeon but it didn't come up...and I spent my money on other things.
I was aware of the single arcane but I figured if he was going to resurrect anyway I didn't have time to step on the unit.

If they get shot down instead of the devils, than they were useful (serious). A sylvan player is pretty much forced to shoot them the first round, and unless they get a lucky shot, there should be enough leftover to seduce the dryds or dancers.

True, Arcane Archers are best used to shoot high-level units because the defense reduction will be a lot higher, and thus a lot higher overall damage output.

There is the matter of having a painful retaliation if the arcanes are not lucky and the chain shot possibly with hellfire can make up for it. After that they'll get another chain shot that I prefer over using the dancers or dryads for a turn, sylvan has high defense anyway.

Wednesday sounds good, hopefully sometime in early afternoon. It is uncertain if the universities will open this week but at least the situation has improved here
