That's about as close as it gets. I was disgusted not to win so I played badly the second match.
Couple points...1 the terrian helped academy there I believe, the chunks of rock provided a lot of cover. Sure the initial charge was prob gonna be stopped by the gargs but then the battlefield was really tight after that and larger units couldn't get where they needed to go. 2...it was close, BUT I think a few other consume artifacts could have been used which would have made it less close. Consume is really powerful! Covering corpses against academy seems to be imperative when you have a lot of units left like you did. 3...Phoenixes with master of conjuration are vicious!

thanks phoenix... i have to admit i got some luck too... with my opponent going for counterspell which turned out to be a waste in the end

I must say these duel tournaments have been great. From playing such veterans as Final Boss, Elvin, Asheera, and Fiur, and others I have learned a great deal and improved my playing of this game. Thanks!

Wow that was crazy damage from Dungeon tann, 3 Grim Raiders charging and dealing 122 damage on Archdemons (or first charge with luck killed 12 Pit Spawns  )
So a tier 4 was more powerful than a tier 6... (luck helped as well though)

Meanwhile I gathered a compilation of the replays I have kept so far. With your permission I could make a duel replays archive in cepheus' site  Btw any guesses how many I have? Not in total, just the duels.

I could ask Vokial to help with that, I have not yet decided on details or the layout. For me it look better on an independent site but nothing prevents from doing both. And no much higher

We played our games with Arcax:

To be honest I didn't think I could win those seeing how I always were losing to him badly. Got a bit lucky in both matches I really didn't think I could beat his Fortress, I had only Master of Ice and Phoenix if things would go bad.
Thanks for the games, you should play without so much distraction
PS: I can lose the next one since I've gotten further than I though I would (and probably will seeing who my opponents are, lol)

Wow the Academy vs Sylvan one was a massacre. Jhora had the same Attack and Defense (in total) as Anwen... now add mini-artifacts on top of this (and a lot of lucky shots)
The Dungeon vs Fortress one was somehow close. btw, did anyone notice that Chain Lightning in the end didn't strike the Rune Patriarchs but rather the Hydras? How so?
EDIT: Nevermind, probably because of Rune of Elemental Immunity making them immune to air.

In the Academy match count in 4 parts of Dragon set - again, lucky
And why do you think that Dungeon vs Fortress was close? I did slack off a bit at the end but it was won either way.

lol I didn't see until the end of that Academy-Sylvan match that the Academy player had 1 luck. I assumed it was like 5.
The Dungeon-Fortress match was pretty much a roll of the dice on which runes Fortress got.
