Ok, found a program called Can you RUN it, and I far surpass even the recommended requirements on my laptop. Now my video card is 734mb, and the required is 256..but I fail only that one. My video card is a Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family..which I am guessing just isn't supported by the game. For the most part heroes runs ok..but it tends to crash, I am guessing because of the video card. Short of going out buying a new one and replacing the one I have that anybody can recommend?

Quote: Hey. This game tells me theres an error and shuts off after the loading screen, so I haven't been able to play it yet.
Can someone give me any advice on what to do to make sure it can work on my system? Thanks in advance.
I use Windows XP and the System properites tells me my computer uses:
Intel(R) Pentium(R) M
processor 1.70GHz
1.70GHz. 0.99 GB of RAM
Physical Address Extension
Search the web for a website called Can you RUN it. Will tell you where if anywhere your system falls short, if it finds nothing, then it is a problem elsewhere.

Hmm, as far as I know replacing a laptop video card is impossible.
Your Video Card looks very powerful, maybe try to update the drivers? If it still doesn't work, then the problem relies on the chipset... the Intel Video Cards are not very good for gaming like Nvidia or ATI ones.

Hi;
thought I would repost a problem I am having, that I posted in the FAQ section, just in case people who frequent this thread might be able to help.
"
Hi, new fellow here.
SO I have cross-referenced with google, searched this site, and cannot find an answer to my problem.
When I start a game using an extra large, huge, or impossible map, I cannot reload after being killed, from my last save, without the game crashing, and telling me the program has encountered a problem and is shutting down.
I am running TOE on Vista. I have 4GB internal RAM, and my main drive is 750G (I have a total of 3 TB of hard drive space). I have a top notch Video card.
Anyone encounter a similar problem, and if so, is there a fix?
Thanks
Edit: my processor is a quad core 2.4GHz, and I have the latest TOE patch installed. "
Thanks

my PC refused to cooperate with me this morning and I have no idea why.
Symptoms:
-monitor gets no signal from the PC (checked all cables)
-booting sounds are different than usual, with 3 beeps at one point
The graphic card is the first suspect and I will switch it with the one I'm currently using when I'll have a spare moment..
Maybe I'm wrong, what else could be the reason?

Check the Motherboard's manual, it usually says what those different beep codes mean.
My RAM once refused to work anymore and I was getting one long beep and then two short... checked the MB's manual and found out that this means the RAM doesn't work, so I replaced it and everything was fine

edit: I got a temporary replacement - Sapphire 3870 for my old Asus X1950, one of the better trades in my life Forget about my card I can have this one

Random Crash
Hi, I recently installed Heroes 5 after reformatting my computer back to Windows XP Professional. I installed patches 1.1-1.6. I've been looking around for a solution, but haven't found one for this particular problem yet.
I am able to start the game fine, and sometimes play for a while with no issues. However, eventually the game will crash to the desktop with the "Heroes 5 has stopped working/report this error" etc. window. There is no real link between the crashes, they appear to happen at random times. I also get a crash about halfway through the "load" screen when attempting to load auto-save from before the crash occurred.
I'm running the game on 1920x1080 resolution (I've tried turning AA and other features off, but this had no effect).
System Specs:
Windows XP Professional
2.4Ghz Quad-Core Processor
4GB DDR3 RAM
EVGA GTX 260 Graphics Card
EVGA 790i Sli Motherboard
I have the latest versions of Direct X and NVIDIA graphics drivers installed.

I know this is probably off topic but I couldn't make a new topic...
I was just wondering if there was a mod to force the simultaneous turns to stay on in heroes 5? My favourite thing about heroes 5 is the simultaneous turns. I usually play 4 player multiplayer with friends on our LAN and it really speeds up the games until we run into each other and the simultaneous turns gets turned off and then the turns take about 4 times longer to complete. We usually end up quiting the map after that happens because it just takes too long to play. Cheers

You can't mod that I'm afraid, it's part of the game's internal algorithms and code.

Hi,
I have instaled hmm5 ToE 3.0 on my PC few days ago, but experiencing further problems:
1. game very unstable, when there is more monsters on map or dwelings (especialy elementals) system almost freezes.
2. Playing mostly random generated maps (single player) and after i end my turn it takes something like 3-5 mins for computer to make its turns(6-8 computer opponents), isn't it too long?
Tried play with 800x600 resolution, image quality - very low, rest - off, but that doesn't help.
I have Intel Core 2 quad q6600 @2,4 GHz
Ram - 3GB
GeForce 8600GS - 512mb (instaled latest drivers)
WIndows Vista Home premium 32 bit.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!!

Your specs can handle the game, don't worry, the problem lies elsewhere.
Install DirectX 9, Vista doesn't come with it (DX 10 doesn't have DX 9)
And update your drivers, if they aren't up-to-date.

Which version Tribes of the East? You can turn things off (eyecandy things) messing with the config files and somebody once made a program to do so for earlier versions of the game.
