~ HELP Topic - Heroes 5: System Requirements, Computer Problems and Troubleshooting ~
This thread is for questions and answers on all sorts of computer harware and software questions - in order to enable your Heroes 5 game or demo to play, and play well
I'll share my experience of the demo.
My computer is AMD Athlon XP 2500+
768MB of DDR RAM running at 333mhz
The video card I've had was ATI Radeon 9200SE 128MB (AGPx8). The game ran, but to get smooth animations on screen I had to set it to 800x600 screen resolution on medium settings.
Then I upgraded to Geforce 6600GT 128MB and the difference was incredible - the game ran SMOOTHLY on 1920x1200 on highest quality with anti aliasing I only get twitches in Duels and sometimes a little bit when the camera is flying in Haven town.
It seems that for HOMM5 you do not need a fancier graphics card. My experience also shows that with the same CPU and RAM you can get an enormous difference in performance by changing your video card - note that both are AGPx8 and have 128MB of memory. It is the video chipset that matters. Geforce 6600GT seems to be a good blend of value and performance, especially because most people won't play on 1920x1200 and the card can pull that much.
Let us know what hardware configuration you have and what kind of performance you are getting when playing Heroes 5.
--------------------------------------------------
Don't forget to get the latest video card drivers!
Most common: ATI Drivers and nVIDIA Drivers

Shuttle Barebone SB75G2
P4c, 2.4 Ghz, with PAT
2x 256MB Samsung CL3 DDR-Ram
Ati Radeon 9800 Pro (128MB)
Game runs perfect at 1280x1024 with full details and full AF.
But AA does not work, it creates heavy flickers. any ideas?

Celeron 2.0
512MB ram
FX5200 128MB video card
Game runs ok in 1024x768 with high details, and everything else disabled. There are some slow downs, but quite playable. And still can lower some settings.

AMD Athlon 2800+
512 RAM
GF 6600 128mb
Anyway, I had outdated drivers for my card, and Kaspersky anti-virus was running in the bacground, and the game was extremely sluggish on 1024x768 with everything turned off/low. But since I updated my drivers and started turning off Kaspersky while I play, everything is perfect. So there.

AMD athlon XP 2400+ (2.oGhz)
1 GB Ram
GeForce FX 5200, but GeForce 6800 is in the mail for me
I have dial-up, so I have to download the demo overnight tonight.
The GeForce didnt fit in my mother board, but I didnt really need it. The game runs perfect at fullres, very high graphics, but the cut scenes have big pauses between each time a person talks. Using high graphics it looks the same, but the said pauses are rearely more than a second.

P4 3.4GHz
1.5GB Ram
ATI Radeon X850
No problems at full settings with a 1280x768 setting. Can't use a higher setting than that on this widescreen tv but I really doubt it would get choppy if I had a screen that allowed a higher resolution. No matter what I do I get beeps from the soundcard in the demo if I'm idle. May occur more often with higher settings. I guess that's an irq conflict, hopefully disappears in the final release or I'll have to take a look at it.

sure you can... 600 is a good money to have a decent gaming ride... go for 1G ram and a decent video card (ATI 9600 or superior), a processor higher than 2.ghz and you will be able to play heroes 5 very nice... I'm sure you can buy a pc like this with 600 bucks

Athlon 1800+
256 RAM
128mb Graphics (DabsValue)
My computer unbelievably runs the game - admittedly I turn everything down to its absolute minimum and then some but while slow it still works well enough to play. I have got some extra memory that I am going to salvage from another computer of mine but still I am really pleased.

Does anyone know if the Matrox cards are still good? I know they have never been considered gaming cards, but would they be acceptable for H5?
I need something that can be used for gaming, but my main purpose for the card is high quality still graphics with good color saturation, contrast, black level, etc (used with specialized CAD software). Matrox used to have some of the best cards for that, but I haven't kept up-to-date with these things.

My PC:
Athlon64@3000+ (socket 754)
GeForce FX 5200 - 256MB
1GB RAM (@400)
WinXP - Service Pack 2
My view - I had no experience on closed beta:
I was expecting it much faster. These are the settings I use:
1024x768,
High Resolution,
Antialiasing full,
A bit of Anisotropic filtering,
and No Eyecandies UNchecked.
Overall I think it's OK but HEAVY, though my time goes by pretty well - I think the main suspect for this is that it is simply a new interesting game. But if I have to think of a multiplayer version of it ... ... seems like a joke! Even more, if time limits are going to be applied!
By the way,Quote: So i will need someone senidng me "Angelitos Fiesta vs 1.11" when my new comp will be delivered (tuesday evening).
I always share it on my ftp! Just IM me on tuesday evening and I 'll send you my IP to get it!
