some other things, on closer inspection, i find hard to abid.
the gorgon being secondary to the kobold on the mines, i find that hard to believe. Gorgons are supposed to be schemers, how come kobolds are the masterminds?
harpies are quite intelligent, compared to Slyphs, who are elemental creatures, so they should be masterminds as well.
also, i think orcs should be the masterminds of the coluesium, personally, because they are rumoured to have alot of intelligence as well as strength.

if kobolds are living creatures, i would make it Anteus (nice name) as they are more...earthy.
he also has the head of a worm, but thats another story.

it does to a degree, if you 4 humanoids in a faction than thats ok (like a centered race) but if you 1 humanoid and loads of weridos, than it will be a horible faction
also, anyone noticed how empty the Alter is? i miss KD

Ah, but you see, that's the difference between Heroes 3 and Heroes 5. Because in Heroes 3 it was so, and in Heroes 5, it no longer is.

the thing is, alot more people wanted (and stil want) a proper reason behind puting the creatures in the town. people want a decent backstory behind the creature, rather than "they are in the town because they all live in the same enviroment."
thats one of the things i didn't like about H3 (blasphemor, blasphemor) take the dungeon for an example.
lvl 1, troglodytes= we instantly get a picture of it being underground, thats cool.
lvl 2, harpies= harpies are avian creatures, so they would be in the air, ridges and canyons, rather than underground, so it is kinda a thin connection.
lvl 3, beholders= that isn't as bad as the harpies, and still keeps with the underground theme.
lvl 4, medusa= nope, doesn't go. Medusa are, if anything, a swamp creature, possibly a desert one, not an underground one!
lvl 5, minotaur= ok, back on track with the underground theme, but the actuall labyrinth was a open air one.
lvl 6, manticores= manticores are lion-esqe, with scorpion tails, with wings, it all screams desert to me.
lvl 7, dragons= WTF!!!!! the closest thing to a underground dragon is a cave dwelling one, with has a wide open space (namely the rest of the world) to fly around. in H5 they have the huge underground cavern, but in H3 they are crammed into a dank earth warren.
different creatures in a town that has a single defining race= good
lots of creatures in a town that looks like it was just thrown together= bad!

if you say that the same creature armed with a different weapon is boring... then that is basically the entire haven/castle/knights town gone for the whole series.
