nice, but i don't no if we should have guns in H5, it seems a bit to modern, Eg: Ashan is in Medival Times, not in the 16th century (not to sure), so i dont think it would fit
and Vokial is right about KnightDougals pics, they are a bit to modern, monsters with guns, its simply not H5

I just have to agree...
I'm sorry KnightDougal, but guns and modern weapon are just not suitable to HOMM.
All the other ideas were good, but the modern weapon isn't suitable.

Hmmm, but you said: the modern weaopons not good idea.
But my option: I rate my own ideas: Great! Cool!
So If you don't agree with modern weapons, your amphebians, and the alternative orcish race, the Russian Stronghold will not be in the game, my settlement is the key of all of them!

sorry, Knightdougal, but you can be a bit obsessive about the settlement. don't get me wrong, i really like it, but it is kind of annoying when you have managed to work it in to every topic. for instance, the Cavern faction, which is mentioned earlier, you managed to leap in with "so these guys are allies to the Settlement." alot of the time when i am talking about the stampede or the Stronghold, me and you have been discussing how you feel its your job to do a orc faction, and we both get confused over which orcs we are talking about it.
if you really want to continue with it is to try and make it so that it fits with the HOMM history and magic. you can still have SEK the metal dragon, an him being imprisoned by Slyath (who didn't want a rival, probably), but make it as thought that somebody else worships him, and during the orcs rampage, they came across him and the legend of him being imprisoned, so they try and worship him and his "AVATARS" the warbosses.
these are suggestions, oppionions and advice coming from a friend, mate. please take it.
factions i like:
the wolf duchy: it looks good so far ,we just need to make it not so evil. make the werewolves apear as victims, rather than a threat. or they could be victimised because they are a possible threat.
the pirate faction: it sound very good, really. (i've always been a swashbuckler at heart, Yar) its got good imagery, nice attitude (there aren't enough races who fight just for money) but, i think that the race should be different from humans. as i've said before, the selkies, often asocietated with the pirates, would be a perfect race.
the cavern: its a nice take on the old dungeon, but it should be a bit more evil!! make the heroes corupt nobles, who have gone into the cavern and have become people who only forfil base pleasures, with eating, drinking to bizare and perverse rituals that blend the erotic and the horrible together. they have also began to mutate creatures, stitching extra limbs and heads on etc. it sound provide much more of a threat to the surface world, and the darkelves.
the Ice castle: it sounds good, but needs alot more detail about how its run, etc.
basically, i like them all.

I like them all, too.
And I think it's a good idea.
And I have some ideas for stories and history for your neutral races.

I have ideas for many neutral towns, but whenn we finish all of them, I'll show you the campaign story. I'll only say, that Arhlord Haxly from the Wolf Duchy is brother of Hexa - the Snow Queen, you will see the story later
KnightDougal, I have nothing against you, how I say, your org are in, but with some changes, they are very modern, and in this topic, they will be still modern, but for HoMM you know what is Dragon Golem, right?
In my topic your orgs can create machines like Dragon Golems

unfortunately, the Stronghold is using the dragon golem, or mechanical dragon as it properly termed.

There is a limit to what I will tolerate for machines in Heroes V. Wood, like catapults and ballistae are fine. Boats fine. Mills fine. Steel/iron plated wooden machines okay. Factories, robots, lazer guns, bad. If you had their equivalent in magic, eg, Golems, Mage Spells, I'm okay with that.

Ice race history:
Before many years, the wizards controled an area the called Zoogue.
It was in the north of Ashan world.
In year -213 YSD started an ice age.
Zoogue, that was a dry desert, became a huge iceberg.
The weather change happened so fast, that people couldn't escape fast enough.
All of them just freezed to death, but their bodies preserved in the ice.
For more then 500 years, nodody got close to the frozen area.
In year 327 YSD came Sar-Elam to look for those lost people.
He saw that their bodies were unharmed. He thought they just died, not long before he came.
He casted Raise Dead immidiatly.
After they understood where are they, what are they doing there and what happened, they were very angry.
They were angry of the wizrads that never came to look for them and never tried to save them.
Sar-Elam understood that he did a mistake.
He went away and never came back.
The confused wizards continue their lives.
They learned to live in the ice, and they were affected of it.
They became cold-magics experts.
That's how the ice race came to the world.

now what are you talking about? there isnt any official info from Fabrice about stronghold yet AFAIK?
and imo Morrowind-style golden robots were the best fantasy robots/golems ever.
