SUPERVILLIANS (IC)
New Constantinople
A sprawling urban city that makes Manhatten seem like a dwarf in comparison. The crime rate is up, and spirits are low. If it wasn't for the massive business opportunities and naval bases, New Constantinople may as well have been a ghost town. The city is a strange one indeed, filled with all sorts of wonders and oddments. Out of the millions that live in and near New Constantinople, very few are given the gift, or some, the curse of a supernatural ability. Others decide to bypass it and create new and extraordinary ways to be as, or more powerful than their counterparts. At any rate, these people have been all categorized into three distinct groups.
Superheroes
The shining knights of New Constantinople, they do what is right and best for the people...usually. Some heroes are there because they want to help, others because it feels right, and some do because it is their duty. Whatever their intentions are, they are the sworn enemies of the Villains and the protectors of New Constantinople. However, beneath some of them may lie a dark secret...
Neutral Supers
Some people that have superpowers choose not to take sides in the generalized war between the heroes and villians. They either sit and watch, interact with the groups and even sell their services, or a combination of both. Whatever the case, they must never be ignored. They could be swayed to either group either by force or will.
Supervillains
Supervillains are the great rivals of the heroes and are usually brought into this side of the Superpower spectrum by greed or anger. However, sometimes this is not true. Some Villains have their philosophical reasons, or are just crazy. Whatever the case, the Supervillains are typically feared by the common populace of New Constantinople, but zero have ever escape to a prosperous retirement from Villainy except, of course, Zero.
At the moment, there are two heroes in the city of New Constantinople, but more will arise...:
Name: Terrence Johnston
Alias: Sidewinder
Background: will be revealed as time goes on.
Physical Appearance: Is dressed in the casual outfit of a T-shirt and jeans, but has no uniform or anything. He has blond hair and blue eyes, and is 5'8.
Age: 29
Powers: Super agility and reflexes. He is also quite fast and strong, but not beyond peak human potential.
Weapons: Doesn't really use any, he instead relies on his expert martial arts techniques. If in a tight situation, will use whatever is available to him.
Name: Unknown
Alias:Inferno
Background: Unknown
Physical Appearance: He dresses in a fireproof leather outfit as his superhero outfit. He also wears a fireproof leather mask to cover his identity. His normal wear is unknown. His seems to be about 5'11.
Age: Unknown, but seems to be around late teens to early twenties.
Powers: Manipulation, creation, and immunity to fire. No real side effects like flying(Human Torch for example).
Weapons: He only uses his fire as his weapon. Sometimes he has hands on fire when fighting, but no actual weapons. Sometimes, when desperate, he will use whatever is on hand like Sidewinder.

At the residences of the Supervillians Jack Kane, William Palmer, and Rex Mallard, a letter is delivered by a mysterious man in a suit after driving off in a black Lamborghini. They are all the same letter, all typed, and all bearing Zero's logo. A hollow circle with a Z in the middle over criss-crossed rapier swords. They all said this:
"To those with powers exceeding normal human potential,
Greetings, I am Zero. I have watched your progress very carefully from your humble beginnings to this turning point in your life. I congratulate you on your past successes, however, there is so much to experience and accomplish. That is why I wish to invite to a little party in my penthouse. You along with some other guests shall meet me in a sorts. Now do not take this as a trap, this is just a social gathering where you can meet others like you. I ask for nothing in return. I expect you all to be there at 8 o'clock tomorrow night.
Sincerely,
Zero."
The address of the penthouse is listed below.

Rex Mallard read the letter he had just recieved. He growled to himself when he finished it. "If that suit managed to get here without me noticing, means that my sensors are malfunctioning. I'll have to fix that." He thought out loud, he had a tendency to do that when he was alone.
Walking over to his mainframe, he ran a test over all sensors. Rex contemplated the offer. "Not take it as a trap, huh. Very likely. Several posibilities here. Either Zero want to test his competition, offer us an alliance or, worst case, get rid of me and whoever else he invited."
His computer beeped, it found two sensors blinded, by debris most likely. Grabbing his pistols and putting them in the holsters of his coat, Rex made his way to the roof. "That's the problem of this area, there's to much trash flying around." After removing the debris, Rex ran the test again.
"Still this 'party', could prove a nice oppertunity. But he won't find me unprepared. Not like tonight."
The mainframe finished the test, all was in working order. He put the sentry-guns on high alert. Now everything that moved or even displaced more air than a roachs would be perforated by bullets before they could get to the door or windows.
Rex knew the building where the penthouse was located. it was high and the penthouse would be on the top floor. Meaning that he'd have to park his mech-suit on the roof. And to get there, he would have ro refuel the rocketpack and attach it to the back again.
"The Vulture will fly again." Rex chuckled to himself. "It's a good thing that I haven't finished that ducted fan idea yet. Wouldn't want to walk into a trap with untested equipment."
Fishing his welding-goggles of the workbench and putting on his boilersuit, Rex set out to work.

Kane shut the door and opened the letter left for him and read it. His apartment were rather small, containing mostly the necessary equipment to survive; bed, oven, fridge, couch, table and a tv. And different types of knives, swords, darts, body armour and alternative weapons. He threw the letter on the table and turned on his oven to prepare for dinner. Has to be Zero, I doubt anyone would want to piss him off. He put some oil in a frying pan and waited for it to get hot enough. Might as well show up, don't have anything planned anyway. He laid a huge steak carefully in the frying pan to make sure he didn't burn himself, and started adding several herbs and some lime for taste and turned the steak. "Might turn out to be a nice time." he said quietly, and took a beer from the fridge.

the trickle of blood ran along the floor, rich and thick, fresh, the owner had departed from it only a few minutes ago. She had been a poor woman, no real significance in anybodies game, a civilian, a innocent, a mother of two.
Palmer chuckled to himself, and carefully picked up the severed hand. where to put it? it wouldn't be too long until rigor mortis would set in. then, with a smile, he thought of an idea. creeping into one of the childs bedroom, the younger one, it seemed, about 5 or 6, girly girl as well, he opened the Little mermaid pillow case, and brought out the pillow. carefully tearing it, he placed the apendage in amongst the feathers, and quietly sowed it up.
"sweet dreams" he whispered, before taking his leave. no-one will catch him, no-one ever did. perhaps he will sneek back, in the middle of the night, to see the reaction on the childs face, upon finding the hand inside her pillow.

Carrie Ellsworth, "Horror Chick" was approached by a man in a suit and was given a letter. The same one the others received. He bowed to her politely and said, "Greetings, my name is Geoffrey Milleur. Zero wishes to meet with you in a party tomorrow night. Please come, you would be an interesting addition to our already wonderful assortment of people. The words of Zero and the details are in this letter. He hopes to see you tomorrow night, 8 o'clock. Goodbye."
And with that, Geoffrey climbed back into his Lamborghini and drove off to somewhere else.

Carrie was very surprised that morning when she got the letter, mostly because she was given an invitation to this "tres chique" party for people "like her" (whatever that means, she knew she was unique) by her very own personal idol, Zero. She squealed with glee once she read the letter that may have been written by that God-among-men, Zero. She also may have been surprised by the fact she was caught while running around the alleyway making *FWOOSH*-sounds while swinging her sword around, surrounded by several corpses and aftwards she wondered why she didn't kill the one who caught her, before he could even say a word. It was a very exciting morning for her indeed.
Once she finished reading the letter she put it in the pocket of her leather jacket. Now, it was very important she looked her very best that night. She would need a new holder for her katana (something with scarlet lining perhaps? It WOULD fit a theme of awesomeness) and a new submachine gun (Heckler & Koch MP5 from the typical law enforcer, she barely remembered), because hers was started to seem a bit used and obviously she was going to have to get a new dress, because her current ensemble just wouldn't do! Would she do something with her hair? Naah, probably not, it would arch in it's very hypnotising ways without any care to it (it took her little to no effort to keep it coolby using her mind.)
After spending an entire day finding a new MP5 (stolen, check!) a new holder for her katana (killed shopkeeper and two bystanders who may or may not have been security guards, check!) and found herself a fancy new dress that properly accentuated her boobs (and a proper red-white motive that matched her katana) (people had alread fled in fear at the sight of her display in the neighboring shop, so tehre was no killing to get that little gem) and she also got herself a new pair of daring, red shoes she was not at all content with already.
She slept well into the next day, because the day of preparation was so exhilarating. Once she got up she scolded herself for sleeping so much and now she would barely have any time tofind another pair of shoes!
She used the shower of the apartment complex she raided that night, because it was very important to look as clean as possible now. She left her usual, heroic ensemble in a nearby station vault, so she could get it back with relative ease.
Once she stood at the gates of the penthouse, she wondered whether she should have taken herself a hat or sunglasses. "Well, too late for that." she said to herself and she rang, whilst clutching her invitation tightly to her chest.

"Ah...an early visitor. Perhaps she should have taken a watch that was not quite as slow. No matter, Geoffrey, let her in. After all, 7 o'clock is as good a time as any." said Zero in the control room of the Penthouse. Looking forward into the future, he then said, "Oh, and Geoffrey, make sure that nobody tries to park on my roof. I made a very nice and quite expensive crystal garden there. I would hate to have to rebuild it and sue whoever is stupid enough to park on my roof."
"Yes, sir." said Geoffrey as he bowed and left to do Zero's bidding, not at all surprised with Zero's requests.

Kane buttoned his red shirt but left the top two buttons remain open, and put on a silver necklace. He had used his jeans three days straight, but didn't consider changing them. He then fixed his hair slightly, put on a leather jacket and went outside. I'll be there just in time. he thought, and sat down inside his Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and were off. He smiled. Inside the arms of his jacket were two long daggers he could extract before anyone would be able to react, and in the trunk of his car he had a Ninjatō he would fasten in his belt before entering just in case.

It took a large part of the night to reattach the rocketpack to the Vulture. Afterwhich Rex called it a night, he would go get the new fuel for it in the morning.
The next morning Rex fried himself some eggs for breakfast and ate them in relative rest. He had nearly finished them when one of the alarms sounded and two sentryguns commenced firing. Rex hurried to the mainframe to see what set it off. The screen showed the smoking remains of what set it off, a large rat. "A shame, I just wasted 20 bullets on a rodent. I'll add that to my shopping list then. I'll probably use quite a bit more when I'll get the fuel. But I'm finishing my eggs first."
Later that morning Rex walked the Vulture out of the workshop. One of the nearby naval bases should have what he would need, a small raid on one would suffice. The way over there was uneventfull, most inhabitants knew to steer clear of him, unless they had a deathwish. Lawenforcers and the military however weren't so smart usually. Few of them saw the next morning though, as they would end up with more holes than a Swiss cheese. No such suicidal attempts today though.
By the time Rex reached the base, two armed guards approached him with their guns raised. "I don't have time for this," Rex muttered to himself. He set the Gatlinggun on full auto and let the gun chew through the guards and their station. Few discernable pieces were left of them by the time the gun stopped. Rex tore the gates of the hinges and commenced to the armory. Few others dared to attempt to block his way, but they too were made short work of. When he got to the armory, Rex used the claw to rip of a piece of wall large enough to accomodate the Vulture. He quickly got what he needed and some more things he didn't realy need, then made his way out again.
"Ooh, they got a whole battalion ready to stop me now," Rex muttered again looking at the soldiers ammassed outside the hole in the wall. The officer in charge looked like he was about to start making demands, Rex had always disliked those guys.
"Get out of my way," Rex said into the megaphone that was inside his piloting-headset. No such luck for them though. Again the Gatlingun cut a swathe of soldiers down before their commonsense took over and they fled. He left the base, but still some fools tried to stop him. None of them were a match though several thousand rounds per minute were hard to trump. When at the gate, Rex briefly swiveled the cockpit and shot a missile at the base, that would give them better things to do than follow him. He moved to his shop and made his last preparations.
When he climed out of the Vulture, Rex noticed that there was a new warning on his mainframe, again the remains of some vermin, though these things were larger. It could have been a few large dogs or some looters, but there was not enough left of the corpses to tell which it was. He dismissed the image and stuffed a pipe. "I'll have myself a smoke and a bite to eat first. I think I'll bother to put on a shirt, and some less worn boots next."
After that Rex changed his clothes and dusted of his coat. Then he strapped himself back into the Vulture, pushed the button to open the roof and took off. 'Flying takes a lot less time than walking the Vulture, but it is very wastefull of fuel.' Rex though to himself during the flight. 'I should really look into that ducted fan idea more.' The flight took but a few minutes and as Rex hovered over the roof, he noticed that Zero put a gaudy garden on it. Rex landed the Vulture on the paved terrace but he barely had time to put on the safety measures before the man in the suit came walking out a door from the building. Rex' ears were still ringing from the flight, but he understood enought of what the man said. Rex indicated the man to stand still. "Don't come any closer, the gun on the Vulture will start firing on anything the isn't me that comes too close. And no, I will not set it down somewhere else. The scorchmarks will wash off after a good rain." With that Rex put the remote-caller in his pocket and walked in the building stuffing a new pipe.

"He obviously doesn't know who he is dealing with." said Zero from his control room. He then spoke to Geoffrey via com link. "Geoffrey, you know what to do."
Geoffrey activated the EMP field on the roof and deactivated the entire machine. He then disabled all weapon and communication systems on the machine entirely. It could be fixed, but it would take a day or two to fix all of it. Geoffrey then let down the field, and left the machine alone and unpowered.
"Hahaha" said Zero to himself as he watched Geoffrey's work. "Geoffrey, have our other guests arrived?"
"I let Mr. Kane in. He is waiting with Ms. Ellsworth as we speak. Mr. Mallard is being directed to the lounge by Mr. Jackson, the other butler." replied Geoffrey.
"And what of our more...illustrious guests?"
"They are due to arrive any moment, sir."

After Carrie had asked Geoffrey when she was going to see Mr. Zero for the seventh time, he told her he had to "settle matters on the rooftop" and bid her a good day. She was wondering if "settling matters on rooftops" was a euphemism for something. Maybe it was something akin to powdering one's nose? She stood alone inside that room for nearly an hour which made her quite angry and she had resisted the urge to swing her sword around quite a couple of times. After Geoffrey let someone else in, Carrie was snubbed before she could ask after Zero again, all the while her mind was thinking: Why is this happening to me?
So understandably she was quite in an inflammable mood when she was spoken to. Though, that almost immediately resided, because she thought that maybe, just maybe, this guy KNEW Zero!
"I'm Candice." she replied as sweetly as she could with a curtsy (that's what they did at "tres chique" parties, right? They curtsied all the time, right?)
However, she could not show the restraint that etiquette requires. "So do you know Zero?" she asked with a white-hot fury in her eyes.

Zero watched Carrie talk to Jack in the lounge there. He then foresaw her getting angry and swinging her sword around, which would not be good. He then turned on the intercom to the lounge and said through it, "Ms. Ellsworth, may I ask that you restrain yourself from any swordplay until you reach the training room? Thank you."
Meanwhile, Geoffrey let in two other guests. Neither of them seemed very happy or impressed. They were led into the lounge by Geoffrey as well, where they met Jack Kane, and Carrie Ellsworth. Rex Mallard soon arrived there looking pissed.
"A couple of our guests are not here yet, so we shall wait until they arrive." said Geoffrey to all the guests in the lounge. "In the meanwhile, let me introduce you all to the 'heroes' of New Constantinople. Terrence Johnston, and..ummm...Inferno."
The two guests nodded and sat down in the comfy couches looking rather cautious. As is their custom, Terrence wore his usual casual wear, and Inferno wore his leather outfit.
"I certainly hope you all will get along, and please, Zero is not appreciative of any brawling in his property. Zero shall meet with you all shortly." finished off Geoffrey as he walked out of the lounge and several well dressed caterers with silver platters of food and champagne came in.

She got kind of disappointed at Kane's negative answer. She lifted the letter a bit, indicating that, yes, she was summoned here by letter. She was kind of suspicious at his second question. "Wouldn't you like to know?" she smiled as she pulled out her katana. "This is Carrie." she said as she lifted the blade in frontof him. Her smile grew a bit wider with anticipation as she asked "Would you mind telling me your superpower first?"
Suddenly, a voice resounded through the room:
"Ms. Ellsworth, may I ask that you restrain yourself from any swordplay until you reach the training room? Thank you."
She pouted a bit.

Kane smiled slightly and grabbed her katana and squeezed it slightly, making his hand bleed and then held it up in front of her. The cut closed within a second.
"That's my power." he whispered, then said with a smile. "I am not too fond of katanas, they're too long to move fast enough. Besides, they cut off limbs, and that's got to suck!"
He drew his Ninjata. "Now this is more my kind of weapon. Want to go to the training room until the rest have come?"

She pulled the katana back into her hands without using her hands. She smiled as if she just got asked out to dance by the prettiest boy in school. "Do I ever!" she exclaimed.
I wonder how much he can take.
"Can I take my gun?" She asked lifting it casually, like a little girl asking if she can take her plush toy with her.
She didn't plan on fighting him fair and square, obviously.

"Actually, it's a bit more complicated than telekinesis, but..."
"The training room is off limits until I say so. For now, wait in the lounge. You all shall be in the training room in due time though, do not worry."
She pouted again. She wasn't allowed to do anything fun today.
Suddenly, she recalled the voice might be Zero and she was filled with glee. She tied her sword away again. "Oh, well." she sighed.
She looked as Terrence and Inferno were introduced. She turned to kane: "Do you know any of them," she asked. "I think I know that inferno guy. I'm pretty sure he and I had a lot of fun a few months back. You have no idea how hard it is to deflect fire when you're all tired, let me tell you!" she let out a shy little laugh.
