Indeed, the H6 Inferno will probably be a closer match to the Might and Magic VI Kreegans than even the H3 Inferno was. Just wait and see, there's more

Probably an excellent tease for many, but it fails for me because I am not very familiar with the Kreegans as presented in the Might and Magic series, I only played the Heroes of Might and Magic series.
Could somebody point me in the right direction to get some more detailed information on the Kreegans?
Wikipedia only gives shallow information and less then a handful of screenshots that aren't very illuminating.

I really dont think Pitlords will be champions, because
A. the pitlord is not epic enough IMO, compared to angels, black dragons, titans etc.
B. it would be the first champion undisclosed, and in quite a boring fashiion too

Well that's not good enough reasons, that's just your preferences. On the other hand, Elvin has give us a very obvious hint.

Actually: nope, the Pit Fiend is not the strongest creature in the Inferno lineup.

A: I find them very epic, they are giant demonic warriors wielding large bladed weapons and throwing around excessive magical destruction as if it's nothing.
Compared to the skinny Devil from HoMMIII (who was quite cool despite that) or the burning Gorilla of HoMMV, I think it's a major improvement.
They look completely bad-ass and more then capable of tackling a dragon, this coming from a dracophile by the way.
B: I don't think single units, even if Champions would qualify as a "Major announcement".
Besides, you haven't seen them in game yet.
Edit: And Ceph drops the bomb!
Edit2: The Real champion had better be really damn awesome then to eclipse the new and improved Pit Fiend.
Edit3: And can anybody point me in the direction of detailed Kreegan info?

Well, well, we have two conflicting info from two insiders! So either we interpret Elvin hint wrongly or Elvin make mistake or Cepheus make mistake or one of them was lying. Arch Demon is still the strongest creature?

That's very confusing indeed. And I'd argue that calling a champion unit as (Arch) Demon is not exactly epic either.

Sorry but what was Elvin's hint?
I kinda missed it...
Anyway pitlord turning from the champions into the level 6 spellcasters (timeline H6->H5) would feel weird, but possible I guess. I still hope the champion will be even moar awesomesauce compared to elite/core. (so better designed Devils/Archdevils for my preference)

I'm tempted to just hold off on checking here for awhile until we find out what is actually in H6. If insiders can't tell us something then pls don't have two insiders continually trying to mislead. I know it must be fun for you, but I find it a bit annoying. Oh well. And if you guys actually can say something then I'm all ears.

I'm not disliking the Tormentor or the Excruciator(I dislike the name Excruciator though, it seems linguistically wrong). They look pretty cool but also very strange/wrong. So I am withholding my judgement untill I see them in action.

We're working on arranging the substantial news and do expect something by the 15th of November. I must ask you to excuse the "crypticism" though - keep in mind that there is an NDA in place. We can release some info, but there are so many things we just can't tell you. As a result, not everything we say is allowed to be fully true. We are your friends, Romans and countrymen here - we're not out to play around or mess with your heads.
That said, just because Sir Charles and I are right, does that mean Elvin is wrong?

It is appreciated that you're gonna bring substantial news soon, but in this particular case it's just very confusing that you and Elvin post the exact opposite. I'm sure everyone understands that you can't reveal stuff, so if you didn't want 10 pages of "is the Pit Fiend REALLY the champion of Inferno???" then you could have just said it yesterday when the pic was released. If it's a case of "Elvin shouldn't have confirmed it prematurely so I'm throwing this in to show Ubi we didn't break the NDA" then it makes sense but it still ends up kinda disrespectful. I told a poster to believe it because Elvin said it but now I feel played on. And yes, you guys already did his with the Academy discussion but that was slightly different because neither of you confirmed anything.

I totally understand your objection, I would be saying the same thing, but due to legalities the alternative is simply posting nothing and keeping our thoughts totally to ourselves between announcements, and I think that would be the most disrespectful conclusion of all because it means you're just left totally in the dark. I prefer to sample opinions so I can better represent what is wanted, even if that means I need to be cryptic. Neither of us is lying to you or joking around here, you'll see that when the game is released.
Anyway, point taken, I'll be more direct where reasonable, in future.
