I have to agree, too much confusion is being spread here. On one hand, you have a Pit Fiend which is the most dangerous creature in Inferno's army apart from "the vehement Arch Demons", the latter being almost explicitly confirmed as non-recuitable creatures, on the other hand they are actually not the strongest Inferno creatures, says another insider (and Sir Charles confirms the same on the official forums). And on top of that I find it quite stupid to label an Elite creature "the most dangerous apart from" something above it (Champion) - wasn't the the whole idea about the new tiers to make the creatures of each tier equally "dangerous"?
Intrigues can be interesting, but some people may perceive them as deliberate lies.

There has obviously been some misunderstanding but the one thing you can depend on being true is the description. Remember I only pointed out something(which would be noticed anyway) and did not speak on my own. I am clear about when something is a hint or speculation on my part but taking me or anyone too literally can create unnecessary confusion.

I like you guys posting here, and would rather you post here than be silent for sure.  We're also all aware of the NDA, and fully respect that you can't say something before the allotted time.

A constructive compliment:  When you (hypothetically) post things such as "There will be more activated creature abilities in H6", or "Champion units will vary in strategy than in homm's past," or even "Castle sieges will require more strategy", then it leads to a lot of good dialogue on here.  People as a result come up with all sorts of great abilities & strategies, and the discussion becomes real positive.  If there's any of these type "hints" you can give then I look forward to them

Red_flag's info from the Russian event:

Quote:
Skeletons can fling a spear.

Ghosts can cast some support spell on allies.

Liches can cast a spell on allies and pass the received damage to the chosen unit as health points.

Unupgraded vampires can teleport too.

According to Ervan, necromancer's 7th level unit will be a semihuman/semispider, it being can become (not absolutely clearly – to divide into two beings or to turn into two different beings). About 6th level unit no info.

The Griffin’s Battle Dive now works a little on another – he attacks not a cell in the field, he attacks chosen unit, independently there was it on the same place or has moved.

10 big bosses (more than 2õ2 cells) already made.

So the champion unit is finally confirmed! We just need a name now. Those other special abilities sound cool too.

Wellcome to Mr.Dragon's operating table, today we have a specimen collected from Russia!
Let's apply the anesthetic and begin the dissecting whilst the specimen is still breathing.
(Mad science is not "moral" science or "ethic science")
WARNING: These are theories!

Quote:
Skeletons can fling a spear.

I'm thinking the skeleton is a ranged unit with rather limited ammo, or maybe it can make a ranged attack through a special ability.
Regardless, sounds like full melee damage to me.

Quote:
Ghosts can cast some support spell on allies.

Interesting, it's hard to speculate what spells these are, but I'm expecting them to have more offensive buffs, Liches in the following segment are already toting a powerful defensive one.

Quote:
Liches can cast a spell on allies and pass the received damage to the chosen unit as health points.

Could be two things: One, damage TAKEN by the Lich or another friendly unit gives healing to the target.
Two, damage DEALT by the Lich gives healing to the target.
Due to the probable inaccuracy of the translation, I'm suspecting the second.

Quote:
Unupgraded vampires can teleport too.

Doesn't take an evil genius to dissect this part.

Dividing into two monsters seems to me much less probable then shape shifting into different forms.
Possibly a ranged/caster/support form, more humanoid and a melee monstrous spider creature tearing through the front lines.

Quote:

Obvious, not to sure I like this change though, before you could use it to put the opponent in a "catch-22" situation, forcing him to either move or take the damage, this was an interesting mechanic.
On the other hand, guaranteed damage is something the Haven faction could have used more of in HV.

Quote:
10 big bosses (more than 2õ2 cells) already made.

I think this abolishes the "Dragons are the only bosses" theory, not that I ever supported it.
They wouldn't be so lame to have 10 or more bosses all be dragons.
I'm excited now though, 10's a LOT of bosses, presuming they all appear in the campaigns, that's 2 per campaign at least.
It also has me hopeful for meeting bosses on skirmish maps featuring a Dragon Utopia.

We hope you enjoyed this dissection!

Yeah, I want to see.
That also makes me think it really is shape shifting and not splitting, but as usual, the statement is ambiguous enough to be taken either way.

As for my Lich damage theory, a minor update from the news thread strengthens my theory.

Ghost are also apparently no longer incorporeal like they were in HV, but I hope they do still have some kind of ghostly defensive mechanic.
Guess we'll wait and see.

My guess is: % damage reduction from non-magical attacks.

I both hated and loved the % dodge the ghosts had, sometimes it would never trigger and leave them weak and flimsy, other times they were nigh indestructible and felt a bit OP.
Now put that in reverse when fighting them and you might be facing a stack that just REFUSES TO DIE even when it's no longer a threat, serving no purpose other then annoying the living hell out of you.
Or a stack that you obliterated in the first round of combat and was completely forgettable.
It wasn't a great mechanic.

The Haven Champion deserves to be in this thread too!

Seraph

Physically imposing and striking in their perfection, the Angels of the Light are Elrath's messengers – and shock troops – on the face of Ashan. They are taller than normal humans, far more beautiful, and project an aura of power and confidence. Seraphim, on the other hand, are smaller and more human-like in their appearance. They started to appear after the creation of the Falcon Empire. Their true origins remain a mystery, but their devotion to Elrath is total. In battle they wield the twin blades of Judgment and Mercy.

The Celestial is the upgraded Seraph.

I thought HV ghost/spectre/polt have a max of three consecutives miss/hit in a row. But agree though, they need to change the mechanic.

Right, so we now have a couple of Orthrus' which are called Hellhound and Cerberus, but our Angels are called Seraph and Celestial. Who the hell is in change of naming these things?

From the description, it seems that Angel and Seraph are different. Seraph being "smaller and human-like". I'm quite confused to with the terminology. So Angel is of a higher hierarchy than Seraph/Celestial or what?

Yep, they are different members of the angel race. It's definitely better than having yet another Angel-Archangel combo (that's more boring than Dragon-overload!).

That said, I guess this counts as a "new" unit as well, so now I'm afraid the Monk and the Paladin will be very similar to their H5 counterparts with an image revamp, like the Pit Fiend.

In reality there are 9 orders of angels, celestial beings, organized in this hierarchy:
1 Angels
2 Archangels
3 Principalities
4 Powers
5 Virtues
6 Dominions
7 Thrones/Ophanim
8 Cherubim
9 Seraphim
Where angles are the weakest and seraphim are the most powerful, the name seraphim means "the burning ones." The Seraphim have six wings; two covering their faces, two covering their bodies ("feet"), and two with which they fly. It is said that such a bright light emanates from them that nothing, not even other angelic beings, can look upon them. It is also said that there are four of them surrounding God's throne, where they burn eternally from love and zeal for God.

Reality and reality...

There has also been speculations in reality if Archangels are actually the top dog after God (though classically Seraphs are)

Anyway, I want to see the spider (Asha power!) lady and her human form.
