Nah, I already have hippogryphs in game...
I really like the bard (Valley Commander) though...
I made a new def pack download. It contains defs and town pics of the following creatures:
A mermaid and a Witch Doctor (made by me), Anubis warrior (I found a site with the Bastion's Anubis animation and so I made it into a working def) and lastly a Valkyrie. The Valkyrie was originally made by Dragonar, but I made it a little shorter. Dragonar's creatures are very good but too tall for my taste

First of all I wish to thank for this mod.
I don´t know if this is the right thread to be asking in but i´ve installed this into a fresh reinstall of SoD + WOG. Everthing works except that the town to (I suppose) should have more dwelling than 2 just have 2. I´ve only so far played with tower though if briefly checked the others by cheat to get all townbuildings. I used salamender/valarie download, ran wogupdate and loaded the wogthingsetupfile in wogoptions.
Now if i recall right there where three errorpopups upon launch. one i thing was
1. VNcopy internal error source=0
2. Assembling artefacts. (short)
3. VNcopy internal error source=0
4. Check if neutral town is enabled (long)
No other thing has been altered.
Any idea what is wrong ?
Again i apologize if this is wrong place to ask.

I don't understand your problem... What about the dwellings? Maybe you can explian yourself better?
In any case, If the problem persists, try to install this mod with the links I provided in the first page. And REMEMBER: Even If installed correclty, this mod will not work without the proper WOG options (mentioned many times in this thread).

It seems that when I install HoL 3.0 Era on my clean wog 3.58f + ERA 1.8 map editor doesn't work. I just got error that it has stopped working. Any idea why?
And about HoL 3.1, it looks awesome so far. However, im not sure that switching between interchangeable creatures at any time is good choice. Now you will just have to choose right creatures for specific enemy and few days later you will be able to change whole your army against another enemy and gameplay will become schematic. In HoL 3.0 you can use some really interesting strategies and possibilities, combine some units to make the most effective combo. Now choices won't be so important because you will be able to change your army anytime.
Just my 2 cents. Anyway, great work dude.

Go to /Data directory, open file TOWNTYPE.TXT and append an empty line to the file.

The decission to make the interchangeable back and forth came for some very important reasons:
1) The AI player had problems with the interchangeable creatures. Now, it doesn't matter what creatures he buys, he will always be able to horde them to larger numbers.
2) When the 7th level creature was interchangeable the first building was very expensive (because you would get the upgraded version of a creature) and it took you many days to assemble the resources required. The problem was fixed and Town dwellings cost was set back to normal (more or less)
3) Strategy is expanded, as you can choose different creatures for different situations.
For instance, with Castle Town, while besieging a town you might wanna switch to siege engines. While fighting on a field, Champions are way more effective.
4) Eliminated the need to use some creatures as a default upgrade (and thus let me add 15 self-standing creatures more in the game).

First of all, thank you for this amazing mod. However, I'm getting an error still:
Whenever loading the map, it tells me that there are Syntax Errors, pertaining to the Gold/Diamond Golems and the Hydras/Gorynyches...and a line about artifact banning. I am using the regular 3.58f (clean) + your mod, and added your personal setup file too.
Now however the game keeps crashing after a while.
Perhaps you can make sense of it, because I can't...

Reason:
"VNCopy"-internal error (source=0). Possible reason is wrong macro syntax.
Save all ERM vars to WOGERMLOG.TXT (may take time)?

From the looks of it, it has something to do with these options:
4)Universal creature upgrades should be ON
5)Extended creature upgrades should be OFF
Go to Wog options and see if you have them right.
However, the errors might be due to the fact that you haven't the updated scripts installed. If the problem persists I suggest installing WOG 3.58f + ERA 1.8 which is the most up to date version of Wog and then install the HoL (ERA version) again.

Well, I don't get the error myself, but as long as you don't have any problem in the game itself I guess it's no biggy.
By the way, I prepared a little teaser trailer for Crimson Tides expansion (HoLv3.1) and set up a release date. It is actually a complete presentation of HoL mods features.
You can watch it HERE and HERE
In addition I have given Castle's siege engines a new image. I always thought that Arbalest and Trebuchet on HoLv3.0 were kinda purely made. So I made new ones (and traded the Trebuchet with cannons). I think that the new Castle units fit together more nicely. I await your opinions-suggestions.

I would suggest using skeleton warrior def instead for melee skeleton,it is too similar to bone mage.

Actually I was trying to make an onager to replace the Trebuchet, but I didn't find any good animations to work with. So I went for the cannon.
As for the Skeleton wariors it was made deliberately so, because since they are interchangeable I wanted to make the same skeleton either wield a sword or a flame missile

Right, I'm still getting the errors but the game doesn't crash anymore...
And man, this mod is AMAZING. The only issue I have is that Trebuchets seem a bit...overpowered compared to the rest. Even in the hands of the AI...but also in the hands of my friend.
Aside from the Trebuchets though (And with a bit of stat modding that's no issue), the mod is...just amazing, ten thumbs up.

I am glad you like it (and it works)
As for the Trebuchets they ain't that powerfull... Champions are more powerfull (given the speed boost compined with the jousting bonus). Don't forget that siege engines strike last and have zero defence. When battling against them, you should make sure they are the first to be hit (and then their attacks won't be too powerfull).
But anyway, in the upcoming update (coming 7th of June) I changed a lot of creature stats trying to balance the towns... In fact, Castle has been made a bit stronger(because it always was the game's superpower and I wanted to keep it that way) and the Trebuchets are replaced with cannons (lowered hit points but increased damage).

I think the main problem with Trebuchets is that they got enough HP to concede a blow or two, and if a hero specializes in defensive stats, which in Castle's case isn't that hard to do...but oh well, they're manageable, they just seem stronger then intended. Maybe its my playstyle.
By the way, I tried editing the creature stats with MMArchive and TXTedit, but it gave me the old list of creatures...which file should I get in order to properly edit the creature stats in this mod?
Thanks in advance

Yes, in HoLv3.1 the hitpoints are decreased so it will be much more vulnerable then.
Quote: which file should I get in order to properly edit the creature stats in this mod?
MMarchive changes defs (icons, animations etc) and txtedit is mostly used to change names and stuff. What you really need is ERM scripter.
Read HERE carefully and download the ERM tools listed in the Tools section. The script I used for this mod is script67. It is somewhat complicated to change stats for a noob, but with some try and error you'll get the hang of it. Visit THIS thread as well. There are many threads about the use of ERM and you can always post your questions HERE
