Oh, there was plenty of bugged rpgs before F2.
F1 had better atmosphere than F2. By a mile. F2 was a better _game_ though.

Yeh but all fallout games have had a ton of bugs

I like action-RPGs cuz they combine the RPG elements of story and character progression with the personal skill needed in action games.
VATS pretty much removes the need for player skill imo.

well, as much as FPS kills RPG feel. 
F3 and NV are just shooters with a bit of story, which is rather pathetic for Fallout1/2 successors.

Yeah, it had a few reedeming factors, but the major insult is the beth engine which simply doesn't fit a game like this.
It's like releasing next HoMM as fighting game.

Ahh but if you were expecting a new old-school Fallout you're on wrong territory ^^
It's basically a spin-off, better to judge it as an individual game rather than comparing it to its legacy.

OK, I don't if I have started wondering around too early, cause I haven't even seen one sniper anywhere other than in the hands of Ghost in Mojave Outpost. Nor have I lay hands on any Gauss Rifle or Orbital Lazer. And my lockpick is 35 and so it's not enough for anything. The best weapons in my hands are Hunting Rifle and Service Rifle and they don't do s*it against them even with armor piercing bullets.

Also pick up the eyebot in Primm.
It's pretty much a mobile long range radar and serves as good cannon fodder
EDIT:
Ad, if you give her power armor and the badass power glove, Veronica will become a monster in close combat.

Boone got heavily nerfed in the patches.
In non-patched game however, yeah, get Boone, initiate combat, watch Boone tear everything to shreds. Rinse repeat.

Only losers use them.

you mean with a sniper rifle that holds more power than a nuclear ballistic missile and a companion that can solo whole legion camp with both hands tied behind his back?
