Hmm, it's one of the better ones. I don't like the neon wall though.
What's up with all these Chinese Wall-wannabies anyway?
Doesn't walls normally surround the main fortification?
Ha ha, look at the sad, lonely building behind the tower

Although there are still some issues with the building scale and orientation (when looking at the high-res picture), I must admit, that the Sanctuary town screen is (so far) the best one... and the first one that I actually do like

Inferno's town screen is out! As usual, while I do love the basic picture (the one without buildings at all), I feel that the buildings are too big, did not mesh well with the environment, or both. One thing that I DO like is : the "chaotic" architecture the buildings showed. The one in the lower-middle part of the screen must be Breeder's. Yuck (disgusting in a good way ).

The different illuminations between the background image and the buildings sometimes it's too obviously bad, like in the inferno full townscreen, the building in the top left corner over a small "island".
That said, in general the best are Sanctuary and Inferno, then Necro, and Stronghold and Haven still doesn't convince me. Much better than what we really have now.

I must say I rather like the Inferno Townscreen. It Look really nice and As said It is one of the best (Imho)
There are some stand out issues.
For example teh burning cathedral in the left upper corner, the tormentor dwelling or the gates.
But ingenerally a very good one. Certainly it is more unique then the others due to the wa it works with depths
I would even go as far as to say, that this is the best Infero TS we ever had

It looks great. I think it might even beat the Sanctuary screen!

That's too much. It's good, admittedly, but some buildings don't fit into the landscape naturally and look cartoonish. You can't really compare this to the Heroes III Inferno, ESPECIALLY with the Deity of Fire.

and the music was amazing aswell

H3's town screens look better because they have color cohesion (so the buildings blend more naturally to the environment) and good balance on perspective (size, angle, shading, etc). If these aspects can be improved in H6's, I think H6's town screens will look better; some can even compete with H3's.
Please note, give color cohesion is not the same with painting the whole town in one color (Necropolis' green, Haven's yellowish light, etc).
At present, I think Sanctuary is the best, Inferno the second, Stronghold the third. Necropolis and Haven are competing for the last place in my book.

All things considered, I find that the new Inferno screen is roughly on par with the H3 screen. The color cohesion of the buildings to the ground is suitable, at least to me, in nearly all buildings, the exceptions being the wall and what I believe is the Breeder pit. The buildings actually are colored what buildings should, but also have the twist of "everything is alive" that Inferno seems to enjoy...(And, I find that the enormous deity adds to the "WHAT JUST HAPPENED" effect of the Inferno grail structure...so many little imps...)

Zenofax I can compare it due to the simple fact that I have My own opinion. Sure there are some problems, with the buildings blending into the wholepicture, and H3 TS had some nice twists like the fire vortex inside the castle but it had also its downsides in my eyes like the triu Devil dwelling, Order of fire and mage guild o the right side that looked to orderly and didnt work that well wth each other (Their individual designe was OK thought)

I am very disappointed with inferno & haven town screens. Nowadays we have great software to make epic townscreens, but... H6's looks worse than H3's, H5's and even H2's. It's just sad...
I must see it in game... Maybe my opinion will change.
My personal ranking:
1.Sanctuary
2. -
3.Necropolis
4.Stronghold
5. -
6. -
7. -

the problem seems to be that they do it in wrong order...
for me it seems that for h5 they choose landscape and then put the buildings in, instead they should take fully build city that look awesome and then just cut out the buildings, then you can be almost sure that buildings will fit in
and hope that heaven screen is not final version, really it looks truly horrible....

Call me noob, but can anybody throw me a link at the Inferno townscreens?
Edit > Nevermind, for some reason the artwork thread didn't show new posts for me, but they are here for anybody looking also.
I think the Inferno townscreen is very ... busy ... there's so much going on with the eyes on the wall and all that it just confuses my eyes.

Ummm. Well, to be honest I prefer this one to the H3 one. This one is a mess but the other is worse imho.
I like the detail of making the Breeder building a deformed, well, breeder. Makes sense given their backstory.
