And so it came to pass that peace once again ruled in place of war. The two great powers of the temple and the void ceased their struggle and the second great Temple War ended. Once again the box was safe. The old man was happy and was able to return to his box. He returned to his one great love and reached for the knobs. The three with their newest member could be at peace once more but alas their was still one more matter to settle. One of the origional three set forth a task that has yet to be completed. Until that has been done, the three shall be two and a certain feel of serenity shall be missed. Only one is at complete peace and that is the old man...

"In other words, Djive is still sulking because her plan to inject a virus in my system didn't work out and because people refuse to be zapped into toads. According to the treaty, I will no longer fight against it, but nothing forbids me to enjoy the fact."
Using the right that he gained at the peace conference, Marelt Ekiran is strolling through the Temple in his form as a visible spirit. He attempts to think like human beings, but fails miserably, because he still cannot shake off the disgust of what is happening in here. He almost grabs a paint spray to write a accusing and cynical message on the walls but restrains himself just in time.
"Oops, I just agreed not to do that."
Marelt Ekiran then enters the main hall, where the box is kept. In astonishment, he watches as the old man worships it. This was more bizarre and disturbing than any human ritual he had ever imagined. From the Void, he can see all, but tends to skip certain things and only focusses on what he wants to see. This was definitely not included.
"Good Marelt. Marelt should not summon armageddon. Calms himself down. This is all normal, nothing to worry about. No reason for war."
Teleports back to the Void.

"Dry your eyes baby. It's out of character."
<Our hero jerks his head away from the goddess's slight fingers. This time though, she won't be denied. She reaches out again and carresses his face...tracing the area of his gash lightly with her fingertips. Their eyes lock. And...our hero feels the fiery rage that has propelled him through life...draining.>
"No! It cannot be! You cannot take this from me!"
<Anger wells up within his belly. He grabs her wrist and yanks it away from his face>
"You've failed, your highness! You will never take that which makes me strong! Noone will!"
<At this, our hero's voice starts to waver. Their mutual gazes still locked...eyes boring into each other's soul...twitching in a way that would suggest the dance of unbridled want. He relaxes his grip on her delicate fingers. She again reaches to touch his wound...hesitates...and withdraws her hand. Our hero starts to shake his head>
"No, it doesn't hurt. Just a flesh wound, right? Anyway, it will heal. And chicks dig scars, don't they?"
<Our hero's demeanor has softened against her tender assault.>
"I never had a chance, did I? You know. It will never work...you and I. You're going to go places I can only dream."
<His hands slide gently slide under her elbows...gradually pushing them up and over her head. When her hands are close to each other, our hero adjusts his grip to hold both of hers in one of his. His other hand...knuckles swollen from years of pummeling nerds, dorks, and young republicans...stroke her temple...down to her jawline. Her head turns in the direction of his hand...trying somehow to get more of it to touch her.>
"Such soft skin...such...beauty...dare I?"
<Once again the fire rages in his belly. He kicks a divet into the dirt...trying to get a better grip. His one free hand finds its way to the nape of her neck...gripping it...tracing down on either side of spine. Remarkably, her body reacts in synchronicity...gradually it moves back up her spine...again gripping her nape.>
"Hunh!"
<His eyes have never left hers...penetrating her...seeking the deepest recesses of her soul>
"Hunh!"
<In them he sees eternity>
"Hunh!"
<Her body starts to sway. Our hero realizes his grip on her hands is a bit too tight, but doesn't let up>
"Hunh!"
<From the blanket of grass and sod comes the aromas of spring. The faeries start flitting about wildly>
"Hunh!"
<He sees both the beginning and end of all things>
"Hunh!"
<All sound seems to have stopped in the grove>
"Do you see what I see?"
<He pauses>
"Hunh!"
<All of his anger...all of his rage...leaves him...a torrent of emotion escaping him...and off into nothingness. He collapses...exhausted...>

[OKAY GOOTCH. YOU ASKED FOR IT…]
The velvet rock of the Gootch’s flesh fiercely presses her back down against the ground, pinning her there, his eyes piercing hers in an overpowering gaze. As his hands slowly slide up her sides, easing her arms over her head to hold them there, she lets him guide her movements, putting forth no resistance... Peace tugs again against the grip of his huge hand, this time for the genuine craving to be free and touch him back -- to grab hold of him, to pull, to squeeze –
But his grip only tightens.
Her every sense is so heightened that she startles at the sound of the Gootch's boot toe striking the ground at her feet, causing her a tiny, startled gasp for air ---
“ Ahhh!” -- breathlessly escapes her lips in a brief moment of initial pain – her eyes widen; everything but the Gootch's face disappears into a rushing black tunnel – she reels from the rush and gasps again –
She cannot believe this is happening...
“Aaaahhhh!!!” --- seeps from her again, this time weakly, more like a sigh as deafness rushes her ears with white noise –
Flickering lights begin surrounding the darkening tunnel of her vision and her consciousness slips partly away from her -- she gasps again – thrashes beneath him --
A silent shriek escapes her, then another. She fights desperately to keep her eyes open, to keep his piercing gaze cutting straight through her, seeming to tear her in two -- until her eyes seem to open wider and wider in an involuntary, astonished gape –
“Ohh -------- OHHH ----“
Peace’s mouth widens with the same astonished look betrayed by her eyes as she struggles to choke back the scream that so desperately needs to escape her--
She convulses violently once -- her back arches, jerking upward as though on a bucking horse, but his grip only tightens, his press quickens, forcing her back down to the ground –
Peace is overcome by a torrent flooding from the Gootch's body into hers -- like a surge of some ancient, seething, tortured rage --
The inferno is met by her own deluge like the bursting of a great dam releasing an immense gush, smashing into the flames, squelching them in a writhing explosion of hot steam, flooding, flowing, quenching this unspeakable fire....
I see it! she thinks…. She thrashes again.
I see it…. (again)
I see it…. (again)
I see it…. (again)...
Her eyes gradually draw closed, through the slowing spasms, squeezing another stream of tears from her lids, this time from the sheerest ecstasy….
* * * * * * * * * * *
. . . . . . MISSION ACCOMPLISHED . . . . . .
* * * * * * * * * * *
She cannot describe what she saw, but does not feel the need. Calling it ‘stars’ would be much too base and simplistic. No. This was more like a portal to Valhalla – like flying at the speed of light, without a seatbelt….
Oh, never mind. Guess you’d have had to be there.
Anyway…
* * * * * * * * * * *
Buried safely there beneath his collapse, she nuzzles deep into his shoulder, his neck, nudging his ear, long and lazily; relishing the strong, soft warmth of the muscles shaping his dampened, musky skin.
At last her hands are freed from his intense, almost desperate grip, now relaxed in unconsciousness. Leaving one hand behind, her fingers imbedded deeply between his knuckles, she slips the other free to at last slide her fingers through the toss of hair on his head, now resting peacefully on her shoulder, his face buried deeply in her curls.
Her hand runs toward the back of his neck and squeezes his hair there at the nape in metaphoric punctuation; she hugs him, holds him, wraps around his big body…
Her eyes drift closed there, cloaked in the safety of his warmth… She does not dare stop to think what this means... She does not care. Not now. Not yet.
"You're free now..." she whispers, almost to herself, "...if you want to be, miluv...."
Peace quietly, carefully presses her lips to the Gootch’s forehead, then drifts off to sleep…

A hurricane is gathering on the ocean side of the Temple...
Saruman enters the Temple, not through a portal, but through the desert-side entrance.
Though still the same person, he looks aged, wiser, and caught in an internal struggle.
He walks towards the 4 thrones of the goddesses, two occupied, two not, as Peacemaker is having revelations in the garden and Djive is still gone.
He bows in a simmilar manner that he did to Marelt minutes ago, and produces 4 letters, each serperately addressed and sealed. He hands one to Cat, one to Romana, and places the other two on the empty thrones.
Saruman the proceeds to leave the Temple, but suddenly hears a voice in his head, which sounded astonishingly like Peacemaker saying "Hey Saruman!".
He turns around, and sees Peacemaker emerging from the garden, hair a mess, gown torn in a few places, and tears on her cheeks. The Gootche is not far behind, cluching his head and walking to his room. Saruman watches him go, and turns to Peacemaker. She looks back and sees an emptiness simmilar to what she saw in the Gootche's eyes, though the empiness is less chaotic, more like the black of space than the black hole like look she saw in the Gootche's eyes.
Saruman leaves, without having once spoken or blinked, as the goddesses prepare for the celebration of the Peace Treaty with the Void.

Peace, mussed though she is, walks gently to Saruman as he approaches the door to leave. She takes his hand in hers, kisses him on the cheek, then looks into his eyes, hesitating with a slight puzzle as she senses something...different about him.
"Thank you, Saruman, for trying to protect me," she says softly.
"Your intentions were good, my friend. Though it turns out, I think, that protection was not necessary."
Peace leans her head to one side and smiles at Saruman tenderly, then turns and glides away, albeit with a somewhat suspicious, uh, shall we say, duck-like waddle. Seemingly oblivious to her tattered appearance, she goes to her ready-room, where she collapses on the great bed and falls deeply asleep.

While stumbling around the Temple, Romana notices a green light coming from up the stairs. She drags herself up the stairs , yawning all the way when suddenly she freezes in mid-yawn and her eyes open wide looking at a door that hadn't been there before!
The green light oozing from under it and a strange buzzing sound is heard.
Finally curiosity takes over and resolutely she opens the door, surprisingly easy. A figure can be seen in an impossibly big room, signing for her to come closer. As she walks in the room, the door behind her closes with a big bang
Moments later Snowy passes the stairs and whimpers, following his mistress's scent up the stairs where it dissolves in front of a solid wall. He runs off to the only one who might be able to understand him: Lith Maethor..

"somewhere in the guest quarters"
...a still sleeping Lith feels someone pushing him out of the bed ...a few seconds later he is laying on the floor, still half awake... a huge fugure appears in front of him...
- Cirion? ..oh... tis you Snowy... damn bear... can't an Elf rest in here? ...oh well, what is done is done...
...the polar bear watches as the Keeper puts his clothes on and throws some water on his face, finally Lith turns to him and waits...
- what is it Snowy? ...how come you are playing with your toy? that tasty human, the Gootch? ...your mistress told you to keep away or something? ...where is she?
...in a flash, the polar bear's memories are projected in Lith's mind ...images, sounds and scents make it almost impossible for the Elf to separate his own memories from those of the beast...
- I see... this is not good news, we have to move quickly... any magic powerful enough to lure and possible trap one of the Goddesses, is not to be taken lightly... we have to move alone though... no need to cause unrest, especially now... come
...Elf and bear walk out of the room, cautious not to alert anybody ...as they get near the staircase where Romana was last sighted they stop ...Lith sniffs the air...
- that scent is familiar... but it can't ...be?
...Lith teleports to the top of the staircase and faces the wall that stopped Snowy from reaching his mistress ...there is no green light anymore, nor any sign of a door or opening, yet he feels he is missing something... after a few minutes his fingers recognise a pentagon carved in the corner of a wall stone... with the help of the massive bear, he takes it off... on the back side ancient letters read:
...the healer walks among the dying,
trying to bring balance back to a ravaged land.
soon others will follow, each of a different mind,
until five and five more are gathered.
then, paths will be cleared, passages opened,
and those who seek, shall find the light under the shadow...
...without making a sound, Lith drags the bear all the way to Romana's chambers...
- you stay here and let no man, woman, spirit or Goddess pass... nobody must know your mistress is gone... I have to leave the Temple as well ...
...he then teleports to his room, gathers all his bellongings and sneaks out of the Temple to find the scholar's scholar...

RSF stumbles into the Temple holding the strange object.
He slips on the wet floor and loses grip on the object. Since no one knows what it is, everyone simply watches it fall to the ground. The floor is left with big crack in it looking as though someone had dropped a boulder. Someone goes to pick up the strange object in amazement. It burns their hand when they try to pick it up. Someone else walks over to bend down to pick it up with a cloth and it gives them a strong electrical charge knocking them out for a few second.
"Stand back everyone!" yells Cat. "Watch a real Goddess handle this." Cat bends down to pick up the object and it moves just out of her reach. She chases it around the room like a cat chases a mouse. Cat pounces on the object and it slides right out from underneath her.
"It's as slippery as soap. That thing is possessed. Cut the crap Marelt."
"It's not me I swear!" said Marelt.
After being knocked out for several second RSF walks over to pick up the object. Everyone yells to tell him to not do it. After he picks up the object the cracks in the floor disapeer the electricuted man wakes up and the man with the burnt hand is now healed.
Looking very confused at why everyone is staring at him. RSF begins speaking.
"What's wrong? I know this object looks strange, but it can't be that weird. I found it out in the desert. Some god-kinda thing gave it to me they told me this weird stuff that I don't understand."
Ye are the founder of thy faith that will change the ways of worship. Bring thy holy object to the forgotten land. Stand between the tallest tree and the true meaning of life and thine wisdom will be cast upon thee. Once ye start thine quest thy powers shall be taken.
"Can anyone shed some light on this?" Asked RSF. Maybe the Goddesses can help me on this? Djive won't return to the temple. Stupid riddle. What about Cat or Romana? Hey where is Romana?"
"Hey what's going on here? Who are these people attacking the Temple."
Someone says to RSF that he should throw the object at LordTitan. Dozens of worshippers are yelling at him. LordTitan laughes at RSF as he walks up to him. He throws the object at him. LordTitan catches the object and is knocked over lying on the ground being electricuted until he passes out when the object seems to roll off the Giant on its own will.

That's what that strange object is. It's a box! For some reason I am the only one who can wield that thing without being shocked or something. For some reason it didn't harm Cat. It simply stayed out of her reach. It makes me think that this box is possessed by a pissed-off virgin. The Old man brings over a pair of knobs to the mysterious box and begins worshipping. The old man is unharmed by the box. Suddenly, the room fills with strange objects.
People start shouting out what they think the objects are.
"Hey this one looks like a taco..."
"This one looks just like a wild beaver..."
"This one kinda reminds me of roast beef..."
"It seems that all of these objects are unique in their own way," said RSF. "But what should we do with all these things?"
A beam of light comes down from the ceiling and a bright being appears. RSF bows down before his Goddess-like being.
She/it speaks:
"You have learned the ways of treating the box properly. Let this be a lesson to those who do not know how to properly worship. You must treat the box with care. Trying to cause harm will unleash the wrath of the box. The old man is wise. He will be your guide in worshipping. As for the other objects. That is something you must learn in the forgotten land. Now that everyone knows the power of the box. I must show you how to wield its power. The first thing is that the box needs your trust. This will require lots of worship. Once you have satisfied the box, it will bless you with the birth of powerful artifacts that are necessary for your quest. Anyone can recieve gifts from the box. These are given only to its best worshippers. And can only be used by the one who receives the gift. However with special permission of the owner one can let another worshipper wield his/her gift, but only with the permission of the box.
For you RSF, you must sacrifice your powers of time before you can worship the box. Dilligent worship is the only way you can find the forgotten land. I will tell you that the lands are guarded by a treacherous path with ancient creatures that will give even the most powerful gods a struggle. With the artifacts given from the box you will be able to defeat these foes. However you will find that these tools may only be used by some of your fellow worshippers. This requires you to create a team to go on a quest to find the forgotten knowledge."
"But why can't you give us the knowledge here?" asked RSF.
"I don't not have the knowledge. This box you see here is the dying efforts of an ancient Goddess to save her wisdom and ways of worship for civilization. She was destroyed by an evil, powerful God that was said to have left this planet long ago. That is all I know and can no longer help you. If you want to know more I suggest worshipping the box.

Saruman the Eternally Surprised returns, looking even more aged, and can be seen wandering around the Temple, making notes on a clipboard. The acolytes are too afraid to question him, as they all know what could happen if they forgot rule one.
Wandering around near the area where Mighty Mage saw the door, Saruman begins to think to himself:
'Why does Mighty Mage fret over a simple little door? The way to get in is simple. If he asked me, I'd tell him. He seems to have forgotten I used to, and now, again, work here. The things I've found... and now it looks as if they've renovated, tsk tsk, I'll have to map all the secret passageways and corridors all over again. I wouldn't be surprised if even the godesses don't know all of them. Though I suppose Lith might know them, and Marelt must, being the Watcher of All, even if he doesn't mention it.'
At this time Saruman bumps into an Acolyte. The Acolyte squeals and runs.
'Fool,' thinks Saruman
Saruman then conjures up a bulliton board in the entrance chamber, and puts a notice on it:
Advice on any subject: Just climb the tallest mountain high in the desert and speak to the hermit. NOTE: You will be forced to take a test if you really want the information.
Meanwhile, the Hurricane is edging ever closer to the coatline.
