Small note for everyone. I know the creature descriptions aren't updated but the date of Beastman Creation has been updated.
Now Beastmen were created between 340-350 YSD. By 479 those that had not rebelled alongside the Orcs were already being replaced by Constructs(Golems etc.).
I've stated this in the Lore Thread already.

Nope, not untill they show us. I hope it's gonna be one of those Raptor-lizards. But it's probably gonna be a horse. Everyon has a horse, so likely.....

that's what i was thinking. everybody has a horse! so the same horse as necro but with a purple glow? i'm starting to think that necro should have a skeletal/dead flesh horse so the "shadowy model would be left for dungeon.
i dunno if we talked about this ,but in a percentage what's the possibility they's ll rework the code?

Chance of reworking the code: Low. They would have to make multiple major changes and deal with the massive bugs that arise because of them, and then they would also have to find some way to sinc the new and old codes together without causing any noticeable problems. That seems like a little much for a small company like Limbic to handle, and as far as I am aware Ubi hasn't hired any other developers to work on an expansion...
On the subject of mounts: I have no idea but I'm hoping that the lizards come back somehow. In H5 my favorite hero animations were Dungeon and Inferno (Giant suits of armor making a burning path on whatever ground they walk upon? Me like...), and as you stated the shadow-horses have already been taken. Besides, what kind of horse lives under ground? Seriously.

the kind of horses that walk on water and have fishscales and the ones that live in hell if sanctuary and inferno can have horses then everybody can
as for the code naive me thought that one reason that ubi might want the new part to be a standalone is to rework that complex heavy code and make the game more steady and less buggy. but i guess that's just a dream now that you've explained it. damn...

Dungeon Heroes in Heroes III rode horses, so I don't think they'll have much problem doing it in Heroes VI. The lizard mounts from Heroes V were pretty cool, but I think they'll try to be consistent with the other races and have a horse (or something horse-like).

Steeds? YOu mean those very-coincidience same color having creatures that happen to ally themselves with the towns? I'm 100% sure the dungeon will get another lizard steed that by accident happens to be purple/black, the underground does have some purple energies out there, all the creatures are infected by it!

Ok now you won't like that eh? So this is stealing and you don't like that, but dark elves directly taken from warhammer you don't mind? Strange...

Quote: The raping stuff is of course nonsense - if the rape wouldn't kill the woman, either their townsfolk would do it or she'd commit suicide, and if that wouldn't happen they would kill the little Mino right after birth and burn the mother at the stake.
The minotaurs just keep the woman in prison until the child is born, easy as that.
Oh sure, easy as that, and everyone watches while their daughters and wifes disappear. Sounds perfectly logical.

Everyone takes from Warhammer. And Warhammer took from D&D, which in turn took from Tolkien-esque books, which took from mythologies... so no, I really don't have a problem with taking from Warhammer.
I actually have found the dwarves' worship of the fire deity to be rather unique, ice and stone are far more common in a fantasy theme. It would actually be a bit of a disappointment if they changed this, imo.

Hmm 'Dark' Elves are more like the Elves of Myths, the goodie two-shoe tree hugging Elves are a pretty new concept for Elves, ie only just over 100 years old.

First of all, don't know if you're aware of this, but horses don't ally themselves with people. They're domesticated by them. Sure, Sanctuary's mount was a bit of a stretch, but the others made sense. Haven and Stronghold domesticated horses, Inferno has Nightmares (which were in Heroes V), and Necropolis has undead horses. I'm guessing Dungeon will have just a regular black horse.
And yes, Heroes V Dark Elves look a lot like Warhammer Dark Elves, but from what I've seen, they're going to look much more unique in Heroes VI.
Just give this expansion a chance. The Dungeon Faction looks interesting. There's no need to keep whining about how it's different.

while lizard mounts were amongst my least favorable
i would agree that unique mounts for factions
were one of the things that Nival did right
actually i'd say it was a great decision
some of the choices were not the best,
but still it was new to HoMM
and quite logical that they weren't all bloody horses!
Quote: Besides, what kind of horse lives under ground? Seriously.
Nightmares.. probably
Quote: Wouldn't that make them a little to much Disciples like?
if its just a rip off , then probably yes!
(even though i think disciples dwarfs
are way better then HoMM5 ones, but thats just IMHO)
but if its done different way
could be quite interesting...
as an example..

100% agree in everything you said. lets just wait and see whine later
also yes the most clear and simple answer is a regular black horse!!! hadn't thought of that!! it works and it won't need much work!
another idea is to give necro another more "fleshy" horse and give theirs to dungeon with some purple on it
oh and inferno could have a rapidash as their horse too
@Elvin
i just now saw what kelpises are! thanks
