It is tradition, so most of beta will be used to nerf Necro and buff everything else.
Around the end of the cycle, with 2 expansions and several fan-patches, Necro will be beatable by the best players, playing optimally against a total noob-Necro.

Yes it seems it's becoming a habbit in this game that fans do the fixing and it's quite alarming. They could've at the very least ask fans for some general direction for necro or they could've had some votes on the rough concepts, but I guess re-using h6 models takes precedence. Using h6 necro, which was very controversial as the base was horrible decision, but I guess it's something I should've expected when they decided to split iconic creatures in sylvan line-up vote and change dragon to walking hunk of rock. (Sighs...)I guess I got false sense of security trusting devs after seeing haven line-up...

No. What is difficult is winning the Lawsuit filed by GamesWorkshop that would follow.

What lawsuit? Even if those are skeletons of vampire counts, they're not that different from your generic fantasy skeletons. Pretty much every skeleton in other games would be sued then if that were the case.

If Marzhin is to be believed, GW was already up in arms about the design of Heroes 5. They won't get a second warning.

Models are indeed fine, that is the reason why I can understand why they are in the game again, except the skeleton's spikes that I have removed. I am more or less ok with lineup, although not so with reusing the models in spite of the fact that they are good (I believe that every incarnation of Heroes game should be a little bit different than the one before, otherwise we would have one game and thousand patches/dlcs/expansion... la wow thing), but I really hate the colours.

Really, as Warhammer and Warhammer 4k die-hard fan, I hope with all my heart that GW goes out of business.
They cannot copyright barebone skeletons.
What are they going to do next, sue Sam Raimi for Army of Darkness?

If so, Ubisoft will likely buy the IP.

I had high hopes for MMH7 Necropolis. As much as my heart will always be for a hauntish Necropolis, I will repeat that I see great potential in some Sumerian/Mesopotamian theme. After all, Egypt brought us Book of the Dead from IVth-IIIrd century BC. More than that, I am firmly convinced such direction would serve Ashan, as it would propose a different feel from NWC iterations and have its own identity = I believe the human mind is rich enough to propose something of its own without getting copyright issues with others using a similar setting.

I used to collect Warhammer Fantasy miniatures (Tomb Kings), and in my country supply of these is low - you can only get them at 2 places of whole country. And ordering them from Internet is realy a hassle, in large part thanks to Games Workshop.
I heard lots of stories about their business model in the past. Those guys are overzealous and will sue you for anything, even if they end up losing the lawsuit in the end. So to most of people it would seem far fetched, that they would sue Ubi for simple skeletons. But, from the stories I heard, I think it's totaly plausible. And I don't even doubt, that they would take legal actions towards Ubi for having similar Lich.

I really love the necro lineup here. Many may disagree with me but they fit the world of ashan perfectly. You should remember that these are supposed to be soldiers representing their faction, and not just a bunch of random death themed creatures.
So even tho the are skeletons they, still core soldiers and so need some kind of uniform and armor(too spiky maybe) that they probably get from their armory just like the haven faction.
The only thing that i don't like is the color. I think it should be more dark brownish(rotten feeling) at least for the skeleton and ghost, the spider is ok.
As for Anastasya...well iirc her body was taken just after she was killed, so it didn't really have the time to decay. Also she is a 17 year old girl from a royal family so her beauty and youthful appearance is probably something she still cherishes. Together with her magical knowledge she can easily conserve her beauty.
Thank god they removed the green fumes(maybe add grey ones???)

I don't. The Warcraft orcs are still green, are they not?
The H5 incident was a different matter, since Nival borrowed extensively from WH's visual style.

Anyway, I managed to spend some time on the units we have and play with them. This is the result. Originally posted in this thread:HC's fanart dedicated thread for MMH7 !!
I certainly hope that the upgrades will be more than a simply recolouring of the basic creature like you did.
I suspect the skeleton shown to be the upgraded variant, with the basic form spike-less and without gems. Probably carrying a different or no shield.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I rather like the current design of the core creatures. Although this may be because of low expectations. It's the elites I'm worried about though. I hope that the Lich and the Vampire will be overhauled significantly, assuming they will return, which seems likely.

It is in fact the case that the units shown are the upgraded versions. If the layout of the site is anything to go on, which I suspect it is.

I'll support you there. I too like the design they chose (considering that the skeleton shown was the upgrade).
But what worries me is the unit's choice. I dislike Spiders in the core (prefer Ghouls/Zombies/Mummies) and honestly, but I will dislike whole H7 Necropolis until I get conformation that spiders are UNDEAD.
Yeah, for the second time we might get a living unit in Necro.
