...and then sent it to Ubi/Limbic. I think they need a good laugh too.
And as a reminder to look at that, before they choose another Magic Bird or Swordbearer no-so-good names.

That's probably the only reason I can be happy of not revealing more creatures at H7 website. They could 'surprise' us with yet more plain names :/

I'm not sure what I find more adorable. That you think even half of the criticism leveled here is reasonable, or that Ubisoft people care.

I'd rather have them name Magic Bird to Roc. Yes, it's not 100% accurate but we can always twist fantasy to Heroes' version. Roc's upgrade is Arcane Roc.
As for Swordbearers, I'd rather name them: Mortal. Upgraded creature is Immortal.

Roc is a name of Thunderbird in Ashan (well, Rokh to be exactly).

I've never said that the people at Limbic did not care. If we wish to affect change, it is likely better to adress them.
However, criticizing the Swordbearer for having a bad name is simply doing nothing more than stating the obvious. Especially since we've since been told that the names are working names and are likely to change.
However criticizing the Swordbearer for not being fit as a champion-creature is simultaniously premature and out of date.
It's premature since we do not know in the slightest how it will play or compare against the Angel.
And it is out of date, because the discision of making it a champion-creature has already been taken. Making it exceptionally unlikely to be changed because of our "whingeing" about it. And the soonest that MIGHT have any effect is Heroes VIII, if there will ever be one.

Hi everyone,
I really like swordbearer as a champion unit. I kinda miss old knight faction from heroes 2 without angels... not to replace them, but as option to play with.
Swordbearer fits here perfectly for me.

I agree with your opinion War-overlord, the product is not in its final stage.
I'm new to this forum and in my first post on the discussion thread I wrote that many players prematurely condemn the whole project (due to previous games, because of Ubisoft, nostalgia for older versions, etc.) and that HoMM fans should give more support to developers. That's why I said "reasonable criticism" in my post because there is none on this thread.
All here have different demands and desires and not all can be fullfilled at the end. All together as fans of this franchise can contribute for Heroes VII to be the best Heroes game but only if we are constructive. We must not exaggerate with demands to the tiniest details.
Regarding Sword Bearers, I like the choice and it's name. Maybe "Paladin" would be better name but it don't mind. My opinion is that he would be overshadowed by the Angels if his statistics and skills are far worse than theirs.

Swordbearer is in a way a fitting name.
It is simple — just like Ashan
