It would be good if the final game will have some maps with different initial buildings. On that matter I agree. However, it is quite normal that on a map your town has no buildings.

Town level is really hurting this game. Only prerequisites (Obviously more of them) would be leagues better

It was funny cause I started a map and went to the elemental place ( not their recruitment place) to see what the water elementals looked like. Was just messing around and the game was set on heroic. Anyways, the hero died and I had not enough wood to build the tavern so it was game over.

In conclusion, you should be able to recruit heroes on day 1 I think

4500 gold for recruiting a hero that has LESS army than base weekly production? Why did you think that was a good idea? I mean, sure, past games allowed that, it was a good way to get an early boost at a decent price, especially if you were lucky enough to get two heroes of your starting factions. But thanks to Elvin here and his insider input, that's not a viable strategy anymore, lol.

What are you talking about? I build HoH day 1 (won't call it Tavern as it neither looks like nor feel like one) and have straight out three heroes, and troops are more than enough, I don't see any problem here. The game is flawed because of other aspects we all know and I firmly believe it has nothing to do with insiders at all. Also, suggestions being badly implemented is on the Erwin Team too, I don't understand what you are doing here.

3 Heroes of your starting faction? I restarted 50+ games and every single time I got only one. It definitely seemed to be set that way.

every 2 or 3 turns, i get crush to windows. it was working without any crush in first days, smoothly, so what happened now??? i mean why? i changed nothing

today, 3 times crush in a row, killed my remaining patience, even if i like this game, this alone makes me stay away... like ai wasnt bad enough to bore me.

im awating news from devs, about delaying the game i hope.

I have to confirm what Stevie wrote: my Tavern also only held 1 Hero of my faction in the game I played. The other 3 Heroes were of a different faction (Haven and Academy, one of them had 2 Heroes there, even). I admit, though, that I didn't check this vigorously.

In fact I didn't devote much time to this beta, as I'm also busy with something else that's really time consuming.

I'm testing it again and I'm getting the exact same results. Bad Neighbors, Dungeon, enlisted hero is Darkstorm -> Day 1, building HoH, recruitment options: only 1 dungeon hero always, 3 other heroes from different factions. In previous games, there would be a chance to get 2 dungeon heroes, this is excluded here. Not like that's the end of the world, but it takes away from the game for no reason at all, and coupled with the 4000 gold recruitment cost while also getting a weak army it makes it very hard to do anything on day 1. On Heroic settings the game is simply unplayable.

What Galaad is doing is to include the starting hero as part of the count. When in reality, the issue lies on the tavern, which cannot offer more than one hero from your own faction, yet at the same time can offer up to 3 same heroes of any other faction. Which is dumb.

Of course it's playable. You just have to play it differently.

When you start with zilch, you have to go with what you get, and when that's not enough to fight, you have to collect what is free and build when and what you can.

No problem.

It IS true, that I always see just 1 hero of YOUR OWN faction in the tavern and I used to be annoyed about that as well - but who cares anyway? You may want to take the "best candidate no matter the faction" anyway - one that comes with a governor ability or ranged troops or both or Explorer or some such - or simply one that offers "complementary magic options". True, mixing troops is worth -10 Morale, but that's not much of an issue. (I mean, what the hell, no dark magic hero with Sylvans, but a Dungeon guy in Hall? What the hell! Pick Dark for the Guild and go with the Dark cousins.)

It's sad really. Looking at all the bugs and balancing issues that are still encountered in this beta, it seems more or less impossible for the dev team to fix all of these within a month, let alone get a release version out of the door.

I fear for what kind of version we're going to get if Ubisoft strictly enforces that 29 september date...

That's what happened to me also. First playthrough - zero problems. After that, impossible to play more than a few turns, most times game even fails to load or crashes before starting the map.

Tried to uninstall the entire thing and download it again. First it even refused to load, but then I managed to get one game again, and then game went completely nuts again.

So I guess they have made it so that you need to download the entire 8 gigs each time you want to play one game.
