I have the exact same problem. It seems the texture resets to this blur, then I can go to options and change to "high" or something else and it will go back to normal. Then after some turns it resets again and I need to go to options to change to "very high" again and it fixes it.
Very annoying - anyone know why this happens?

I found a temporary solution. I use the mod that makes it possible to run Heroes V in window mode. When I do that the textures are not being reset. It does have some other negative sides (cant scroll by moving mouse to the edges etc) but it is better than having to change options every minute.

I read somewhere that patch 3.1 will add window mode and I'm hoping that patch will fix the problems, but it looks like that patch will never be released. Has support and patching of this game stopped? People have been waiting for over half a year now and nothing...
Hm windowed mode doesnt help for me
Sucks.. cant play the game properly cause every 2-5mins I can fix this damn graphic bug...

oh, im not alone with 8800 GT and Vista 64bit
i think Heroes V does not support the 64bit windows, the problem comes when i install vista64

I'm running Vista, I uninstalled Tribes of the East and it won't reinstall.
I've deleted registry keys but every time I launch the autorun or the setup exe it opens the wizard and runs the uninstall process then it states everything has been uninstalled, but I cannot install still.
Any help would be appreciated.
Edit: problem solved. I wasn't thorough enough with the registry keys. Anyway you'd think they'd come up with a setup exe that works (never had that sort of problem with the first Heroes V or Hammers of Fate).

Did anyone install SP1 onto your machines? Well, I did and, that is exactly when the game started to refuse running properly.
I would really want to know if SP3 brought this problem onto XP, also.
These major upgrades to our O.S.'s really screwed up our .dll graphical files' compatibility to both XP and Vista combined.
Besides, my monitor is becoming totally unsupported by it's manufacturer and, might not comply with DirectX SDK(March 2008). The monitor is now, stuck with a non-plug and play generic driver dating all the way back to 21/06/2006. It's brand is a Viewsonic VA902b. Anyone knows where I can get a way better driver than this Vista Home Basic one?
The latest one says that it could not find mine in its supported database.
HoMM5-T.o.t.e is unplayable and, only only flashes non stop and, does not crash back to the desktop window.
On another side note: My type of video card(AGP 8x/Radeon 9550) has been fully replaced by the newest chipset for it called: X-1050. And, it is sold onto the Ottawa, Canada market within major elecronics stores.

I just upgraded my pc to Vista, but now it looks like the graphic driver program is gone. I tried the installations cd(not vista cd). I can't play games like Titan quest or Heroes 5. help
Edit: the problem was that the graphic driver doesn't work on vista, how can i fix that, or must i uninstall vista?
Edit2: I think i have fixed it. i will remove the (del)(/del) from the text

I think that's the error code you get if the game is blocked by firewall. Make sure you have H5 as an exception.

You tell me. Is that for ubi, lan, does it say something in the error description? Not sure but I think I got that when mods or patches don't match but it can also mean that you don't have the same map version.

Help me please.My game keeps freezing.I found out that it's due to a memory issue,the memory usage drops below 5k.How can i avoid this?I desperately want to play the game.My specs are:
512 ram
1.7Ghz
128 mb Nvidia Geforce
It appears that my computer supports the minimal requirements,and i have to play the game on low or else it would lag.Any suggestions?

My memory usage drops quite low too but that is...unusual, cause I have to play on very low or otherwise it will crash  .

I dont think it is RAM problem,since my friend has 256 and it worked ok on his computer(he had XP).I have Vista and when i run it it only takes a little above 500RAM(Tribes of the East).I suggest u try to update ur drivers or get a newer video card.

I tried that,it didn't work.When I updated the drivers a BSOD screen showed up with something about nv4_disp
