Patch 3.1 installer can't find the original version of the game, even though I've reinstalled it just at the moment.

I think you have a wrong language version of the patch (different than that of the game)

There is not much to choose from. I have polish version and there is hu/pl patch.
Though I remember there used to be millions of different versions before.

I have a Prescot P4 @ #GHz ; 2GB DDR @400MHz CL2 from Corsair ; AGP Leadtek 7600 GT TDH, 2 RAID 0 Seagate hdd 300GB each, and the game runs good at MAXIMUM settings [1600X1200, AA, AF, eyecandles, Hardware cursor etc.] I've seen that the changing of the resolution or of the AA, AF settings do not impact the way the game runs.
The only issue that i have regarding this system is that on XXXXXXXL maps it lags when I rotate the camera [this seems quite normal as the system has a load of map to render].
I tested on a Core2 Quad Q6600 and 2 GB DDR2 Corsair @ 800 MHz, leadtek nVidia 8800 GT; of course MAXIMUM settings and there are no RADICAL improvements to the way the game runs.
The question : the leptop provided from workplace is a DELL D630 {Intel Core2Due T7300, intel GMA 650 X3100 graphics with up to 384MB shared memory; @ GB RAMM; 120 GB Sata 2 hdd}; Did anyone tested the game on this model or similar [in terms of resources] models? I am currently at my job and very busy; I do not have enough time for the next days to test the game and I would appreciate to know if the game runs ok [i'm interested if the game runs smoothly, BUT NOT with MAXIMUM or even close to MAXIMUM settings of course ]

the game runs smoothly on my GMA 3100(that's the non "X" version which is much slower) on normal at 1024 but i have to run it through 3d-Analyze but thats because it doesn't have hardware transform and lighting(a feature first introduced with the very first GeForce).
Your card being about twice as fast and more feature rich should handle H5 without any problem at all

Hi,
I am having some problems with this great game and I hope, comming here will help me get it sorted out once and for all.
Computer set-up :
AMD Athlon 64 x2 dual core processor 5600+ , MMX , 3dnow ( 2 cpu's )
Memory 3326MB ram ( PC 800 - Kingston ) ( I have 4 x1024 inserted )
NVIDIA Geforce 8800 GTS 320 MB ( 1024x768 - 60 hertz )
Sound , C-Media cm6501
XP SP.2 oem
connection a 8 down 512 / 1 up
Security : F-Secure ( Full version )
Single player : Everything works just fine, all is set to highest no problems what-so-ever.
Online : When I enter ubi rooms all is okay, I jusmp from channel to channel no delay. I can chat and what not.
BUT ....
When I enter a game ( mostly random ) it takes "some" time to get in there, and now I can almost feel the x-fer of data, making it very slow on my end. Usually it goes like this ; I enter the room and we start to pick and what not, then a good luck Gentlemen and it starts to load...when I get in the game it's VERY unstable and 70-90 % of the time I get d/c after a few seconds. It can take up to 3-6 loads before I am stable and even then I can get a d/c from out of the blue.
What I have noticed so far. It really isent a problem if the land is already uncovered but if I move and has to remove some fog of war it slows ALL the others down.
Does anyone have a decent solution to offer ?
P.S. I'll probably have some more stuff to add but this is the problem in a nutt-shell.
- Guz
Edit I dont have any mods or extra maps installed ( as in fan made maps ) I keep everything ( saves and maps ) in different folders.
E.g. I play player x on map y, I empty my maps folder and saves folder and put only what is needed in the 2.
I am about to use the cmd command under Start-Run, so I can see how many "hops" my ISP does from my computer to Ubi. Does anybody know what I am supposed to ping I mean the number ? or anybody knows where I can get info on this ..

I just figured out how to ping and what number I am supposed to ping ( I think ). I am at an average of 120ms ! Anyone that could enlighten me as in if that is acceptable or not. and in the latter any way that I can make it perform better ?

Hello.
I'm new here. I'm a huge fan of every Heroes game since King's Bounty. I'd really want to like Heroes V but it just isn't possible.
I would like to rise up the AI speed problem again. None of the solutions I found on this forum seem to work. I like playing large maps with lots of AI enemies. Well, I'd also be happy playing large maps with only 1-2 enemies but neither are playable. The turns simply take too long.
I have a top-notch computer. Literally. Geforce 9800, 3,2 GHz, 4 GB RAM. But still even the first time after ending my turn it takes more than a minute for all the AI players to make their move. And I hear it gets even worse when the game progresses. I haven't been able to play any map for longer than a few in-game weeks because I just get so angry and close it (as you might have noticed, I really hate waiting idly). This is unacceptable. Heroes III turns, for example, take only a second to finish. Maybe 5 seconds with 8 players on a maximum sized map.
So I beg of you, is there ANY way for me to play a huge map in this game where AI turns take less than 30 seconds (total)? Or do I have to throw the game on the shelf and just forget about it.
Thank you so much in advance!

I think the AI is just useless...
It is both bad and slow...
I think it can be tweaked... you could try to use the turn time cap to set a limit for the time taken by the AI to complete it's turn!
cheers!

HI team..
Has anyone had any issues with the Asus EAH4850 vid card? Just installed it on my box so I can run 2 monitors, and now the game doesnt start.
The game crashes few seconds after the very first screen pops up. The monitors are running in digital mode not analog - not sure if this will affect things??
Was running 2x monitors, then turned one off, but no difference.
Antec 900
AMD 3800
XP Patched
2gig Ram
2TB HD
2x Samsung 19in monitors
Downloading latest driver at moment, and will try that, but wanted to see if it was a common issue with them.
Thanks

Well updated drivers, and no joy...
The game did start up once after I updated the drivers, but that was before reboot after updating driver.
Now back to nothing...
Event viewer only gives me
Event 1000
Faulting application h5_game.exe, version 3.1.2.98, faulting module h5_game.exe, version 3.1.2.98, fault address 0x00830e8c.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
and
Event 1001
Fault bucket 902341190.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
The only change is the Vid card, running 2 monitors, and its now running Digital instead of analog - would that matter??? The card only has 2x digital outlets, no analog.
By the way, this is TOE original CD IM trying.
Anyone got ideas

Has anyone noticed that Tribes of the East is a little more resource demanding than the other two episodes ?
Even on a strong system, there is a drop of 10 fps in TotE. And another thing that I don't understand ... the bigger the map the lower the FPS count is. This means that something gets rendered on the entire map even though you see only a small part of it.
Does anyone know anything about this issue ?
