Thanks Markur. Then I suppose if I simply clear out the "maps" folder, I will be back to the vanilla game. Oh well I suppose I could try the campaign again, its been a while.

Your welcome Sir John. I am amazed you could read my previous post with all the typos. Good grief, guess my coffee had not kicked in yet.
Remember though, I think you will have to remove the maps from "both places", not just "maps".
I think the real culprit is the map-named-folders that show up as Mods under the Editor, since I believe all of those load when playing the game.
Both the Game and the Editor must share files. I've gotten an error saying I can't run both at once, when I closed out one and started the other...too quickly

Hi all,
I got this graphics issue with my Heroes 5 ToE. Occasionally when I go to a town (so far has only happened when I go to a Necropolis), all the textures blur like mad. It happens as far as I know at random moments when I enter a Necro town. When I change a thing in the video settings (i.e. Anisotropic filtering) all textures are back to normal again.
I got screenshots to show what I mean:
All fine:

All wrong:

I'm using a laptop (Acer 8930) with a GeForce 9600M GT (latest drivers). Windows Vista SP 2. I'm running the game in version 3.1 Tribes of the East.

hmmm, I've got the same issues like Geryon, but I'm running TOE 3.1 in Windows 7 Ultimate with ATI Radeon HD 6570 512 MB with AMD Catalyst 11.1
Everytime I change the video settings and apply it, the graphic will be good again, but when I enter battle or load game, the graphic will become blurry again.
Already tried installing the game and it wouldn't work.
Please kindly advise, thanks

Good day all
I just realized that maybe I can play Heroes V Tribes on my Windows 7 from reading previous posts. I have been playing it on my Windows XP machine as the game failed to work on my Windows 7 machine due to the DirectX problem (d3dx9_25.dll file)
- Can Heroes V Tribes 3.1 run on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit?
- Do I need the Heroes V Collector's Edition to run on Windows 7?
I really would like to be playing it on my Windows 7 machine....(before Heroes VI comes out!)

HOMM5 MapEditor 1KB corrupted
I just sent an email or IM or something to Elvin, but he immediately logged off and Vangelis was on Messenger until the single moment when I thought I'd ask him, so now I'm posting here in less words.
Having a LAN soon, trying to save a map, but that appalling n00bisoft glitch (well, one of many) is occuring:
kylaline posted it back on page 39 (Aug 2010) and I didn't see an answer to it (she was new and everyone seemed to only answer the next question by a different new person).
Saving HOMMV maps saves them as 1KB corrupted files.
How do you get it to save properly, so that it will ACTUALLY save one's efforts instead of deleting them and laughing at you because you don't happen to be programmed badly by French programmers who seem spitefully determined to ruin us all?
Even if you open a randomly generated map and close it without saving, it can corrupt. This seems ridiculous and it is, but that doesn't stop it happening.
Please swiftly aid in my quest to save maps.
Windows 7 64bit Ultimate, new computer (October 2010), patch 3.1, everything should be fine.

Hmmm, AMD Catalyst 11.1 is the most updated driver last time I checked.

DoubleDeck, I'm going to be honest here and point out that actually, I was referring to my post and saying that, unless I'm mistaken, it should be fine with those settings (that's what I now have), but that I was having my troubles anyway.
Having stated that, yeah, it should all be fine with our settings, both of our problems, that is, so I'm very glad that it has sorted itself out now.
Drivers were most likely the issue, although from my experiences, I would recommend that you always keep a copy of the last working graphic card update/installer, as I was once mislead by the nVidia site which claimed I needed one of their drivers (it caused serious issue and when I went back to read the driver details, no updates for that older card or even that series of cards were listed).
Keep the most recent working update until you know the next is safe, because otherwise you may rely on whatever came with the card if the latest versions have yet undiscovered issues.
I seem to have my map editor working smoothly now, but I'm not sure what solved it, even though I tried to make one 'correcting' change at a time.
In the editor.cfg configuration file in /profiles, I changed editor type from 9 to 0, as 0 and 1 have been listed as fine in different threads and 9 has as well, but 9 is claimed to be for some advanced features.
I don't know that having it on 9 was the issue though, as I made a few other changes, which I'm now trying to remember.
I'd advise ensuring (although I already had) that if on Windows 7, both the editor and executable have their properties set with "Run as Administrator" and making sure that you have authority over the save map directories.
I'm also not sure whether running it under XP Service Pack 3 compatibility is a good or a bad thing for this (most probably, it makes no difference), but that's what I've been doing, just as a note.
If I can confirm what caused this error, I shall confirm it, but this error is crippling so I hope a guaranteed solution can be found.

Can you explain this please? My editor acts odd at times and I am wondering if it's because I've not a clue what you're sharing here.

Good advice. I need to be sure I've done that for "both"

I'm unsure about this as well, here's why. I have recently read that SP3 is supported but I sure seem to recall sometime ago that it caused problems (networking issue I think)and SP2 was the one to use. But it's been a long time back. Just thought I'd add that in case someone knows more.

Shot for your response Endelite! Just thinking about graphics card dirvers...if they are from a trusted site (nVidia) then it should be fine...I always use Driver Navigator that tells me when drivers are needed to be updated (like Windows updates) and does it all for me.
In Windows 7, I am not experiencing any problems in the map editor, everything is running smoothly....the only thing that sometimes the autosave takes a little longer when playing turns (this only happens every now and then) not sure why but it's not a problem...

Hello i need some help.
Me and a friend played 2 vs 2 against the ai and we were playing for a long time, but then the ai got my friend's town and I had to conquer it back, and then I got the town obviously but now he has no town and I simply can't find a way to give him the town back nor' let him take it back himself, is there an option or command that's able to make him get the town from me?
simply can't find an answer dunno if anyone else had the same prob, been searching alot but figured here is the place to ask hope to hear from you soon
