Need advice asap
Very annoying multiplayer BUG!
Hey guys,
I need your advice:
me and my friend both have windows vista ultimate editions and same version of HoMM 5 + HoF (Eu version - not original game unfortunatelly) and we always have this HORRIBLE multiplayer issue. When we start the game, everything runs perfectly and then after a while, game just goes crazy. It says to him that he is "waiting for other players turn" and it says the same thing to me! Even though i have finished my turn. We tried turning the simultaneous turns off, but no good. This is very annoying and prevents us from playing the game online (by the way, we play over hamachi since we have illegal copies of the game). When we play in LAN it works normal, alhough we had the same problems couple of times.
Does ANYBODY know ANYTHING about this problem and the way that it can be solved?
I just need to mention that this NEVER happened before 2.1 patch to us!!!
Thanks alot in advance

Perhaps this is why it is not working: Elrath does not condone theivery.

Oh - did not even notice that one in the first case. Buy legal versions of the game. We don't support illegal software here, and won't give support to make it work.
Case closed.

Hey Iggy,
You would need a decent CPU ( let's say 2GHz), at least 1GB of RAM and at least NVidia 6600GT / Ati 1600PRO with 256 to have average/good performance. I think the game isn't too well optimized because even with 2 GB of RAM with 7950GT 512MB and dual core 4.2 it does not run perfect And it's not Ghost Recon 2 advanced warfighter when it comes to graphics
Hope this was heplful

hello everyone- im new to teh forums.
i had a question about this-- i am about to order a new laptop, and was wondering if these specs would be good enough to run HOMM5,
there are 2 sets i have configured-
the first one, and more expensive(though not by much) is=
-Intel Core2Duo T7300(2.0GHz 4MB L2Cache 800MHz FSB)
-1GB shared dual channel DDR SDRAM @ 667MHz (2 dimm)
-128 MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400 MGS
---this computer also comes with a 8x CD/DVD burner w/double layer DVD+R write capability as the only option for the drive, and i noticed someone else said that they could not load the game onto thier PC with a DVD writer because it has some sort of copy protection or something...
and the second system=
-AMD Turion 64X2 Dual Core Mobile Processor TL-60(2.00GHz 512K)
-1GB shared dual channel DDR2 SDRAM @ 533Mhz (2 dimm)
-ATI radeon Xpress 1150 256MB hyper memory graphics card
- this computer comes with a 24xCD burner/DVD combo drive with cyberlink power DVD(whatever that means) but does not have DVD+R capability.
can anyone tell me if both of these will work or not please?

@9ball
Both systems look capable of running the game, even if the video cards are a little weak. They are both still better than my current integrated card a 6150, but I have a desktop...laptops are 'weaker'...
I have a dvd burner and the game works fine...the only way the game wouldn't run is if you have a software copying program like nero or daemon tools that might conflict with the copy protection.
It's a fun game, but if you only want to play I wouldn't recommend getting a whole new laptop...if you need one anyway then either one is fine...

Help! I seriously need help here. My Hammers of Fate has stopped working for some inexplicable reason. Again.
I have reinstalled twice today, and another time a few days ago, and it does not work. I don't even know why. It worked before, but now it does not!

well, my game wont uninstall, i tried removing it manually (via program files, ubisoft, etc) tried add/remove programs, tried standard uninstall, generally i wouldnt care, but i cant re-install to play.
what happens is, i start the install, and it says the game is already installed and that im trying to uninstall it, so i go ahead and do that, it starts uninstalling and then says it was uninstalled successfully, then when i tried to install afterwards, it said the game was already installed.
any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

From Ubi forums (unofficial tech support)
Quote: For people having problems with uninstalling/installing/reinstalling the game (when you press install the uninstall apears).
Go to start-> run.
Run regedit.
Go to this key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
Locate the key with the heroes information. (in the keys under this key it should be) If you can't located it go to that key and press f3 and type heroes. You should find it.
Delete the key you found.
hope this helps.

Sometimes these keys are stored multiple times within the registry. If you search a bit you may find something.
