obviously i didnt understand you right. i thought you meant 1 changing-element-unit, not 7?
7 units with exactly the same ability would be like, whats the word, booooring?

Might be with the same ability, but each of the seven units has its own abilities. And their abilities also depend on the battlefield element. Thats 4 different variations of 7 different units! This sure wont be easy to think of all the different combinations of abilities for 7 creatures! Imagine each of 7 creatures having 4 different forms! Understand it now?

Yes, I know about it, but its probably the best (and maybe only) way to make a ballanced and interesting conflux. I havent meant the idea very seriously, but its quite good, isnt it? And it would make me like the conflux.

No. A traditional, slightly weaked conflux with Byzantine buldings, Wisps and Void/Dark elementals would be best.

personally if nival decides after making swamptown and stronghold to make another town, id want either an ice town, a hive town or something with faceless as lvl 7. certainly not conflux. when 5 out of 7 tiers are already summonable, it just isnt grand.

We have no indication that they will make a swamp town. We know there will be a sub-terranian Dwarf town, we also know there will be something placed in the mountains above the plains - likely to be Orc - and something placed on wartery plains - possibly Naga.
____
Anyway, to stay on topic ... I know you'd prefer 7 elementals, I just think it would be too monotonous. To find names, looks, and abilities for these units to make them seperable will probably be a hell - but do go forward with your ideas, I'd like to see what you come up with. I like this approach because it offers a range of very different elementals within each element.
Personally, I don't have any problem with the Magical elemental - but probably, it would be better to have a Level 6 unit that Manifests either as Darkness or Light elemental. I also have no problem with a Will-O-Wish and Phoenix occuring in this town. Both are elemental beings (Will-O-Wisp is an air creature, Phoenix is fire), and the Phoenix does lack a normal relationship in the present game. But that's just my oppinion - I always liked the Heroes 3 Conflux town, it just needed some better ballancing.

You forgott the Free cities of the east (Human barbarian).
Yes, we need Conflux, much more than Dark Dwafes and others...

imo if they get ready with both swamptown(naga) and stronghold(orc), theyll come to understanding that they have milked THIS particular cow to the end and theyll start developing h6.
and btw... there certainly wont be a dark dwarf town(whats the point if even normal dwarves live underground and dark elves would be too similar to them too). and i really hope there wont be human barbarians.

Well - that's not what we see on the official map ...

Personally, I don't believe we will see any free cities in Heroes 5. It has been said, that they have "not yet formed a separate faction" (which is not officially confirmed), but also, from the official map, there are no cities to be seen in Ranaar.
I think it is very true that once they've released the Dwarven Town, an Orcen Town and possibly a Naga town, they will start developing Heroes 6 rather than go further with 5. Which is probably a wise decission.

if we have the naga town, the stronghold, the free cities of the east and the conflux, that totals eleven towns, that's the amount of towns Ubi was willing to make. (they could sneak in a hive town)
the byptazinan town sounds interesting. i wonder what the units will be? any thoughts?(please not stuff like air elemental-> storm elemental, that was just lame)
do any of you like the japanese alternative to the conflux?

i was simply inserting the towns that i think with come next.

Yes, there has been mention of 11 towns different places - apparantly, Fabrice let this slip at some time. However, I also seem to recall very specifically, that is said "11 towns, but not all in Heroes 5". Which would indicate that they'd more on to Heroes 6 at some point, but bring most of the excisting factions forward?

do any of you like my japanese-style conflux? or is there anything i could change about it.
and what are any of the units in the byptasian conflux, are there going to be human units, or is it going to be purely elementals. What??
i am just a little bit lost and confused

Please note: if this has been suggested already, sorry.
Racial Ability: Confluxion (name needs work)
Elementals do not upgrade. Instead, a planeswalker must use his confluxion ability to combine them into new and greater creatures.
Basic Elementals: Fire, Earth, Water, Air.
Fire + Earth = Magma Elemental
Fire + Water = Chaos Elemental
Fire + Air = Meteor Elemental
Fire + Fire = Ember Elemental
Air + Water = Storm Elememental
Air + Earth = Chaos Elemental
Air + Fire = Meteor Elemental
Air + Air = Tornado Elemental
Water + Air = Storm Elemental
Water + Fire = Chaos Elemental
Water + Earth = Clay Elemental
Water + Water = Flood Elemental
Earth + Fire = Magma Elemental
Earth + Air = Chaos Elemental
Earth + Water = Clay Elemental
Earth + Earth = Stone Elemental
Combining Elemementals costs Gold and Recources. For Each combination, you must pay 100 Gold for each level of Elemental. (eg: Air-Lv2 + Water-Lv3 = 2+3= 5. 5 x 100 = 500 gold) In addition, you must pay recources for each combination based on how compatible the creatures are.
In addition to the Gold, Each Elemental creation costs recorces. If combining with a Combatible Elemental, It costs the shown Recources. If with a less compatible one, the recources are doubled.
1 Sulfur
1 Mercury
1 Ore
1 Crystal
So, If you wanted to make a Magma Elemental, you would need
900 Gold, 1 Ore and 1 Sulfur.
=============
These Totals are for one set of Elementals. Each set contains 10. If you wanted to convert, say, 3 Fire and 4 Earth, it would cost the previous total. (900 Gold, 1 Ore and 1 Sulfur)
If you wanted to convert, say, 10 Fire and 4 Earth, it would cost still 900 Gold, 1 Ore and 1 Sulfur.
If you converted 11 Fire and 4 Earth, It would cost 1300 Gold, 1 ore and 2 Sulfur.
=============
About Totals: The Number of Elementals produced is the average of the two numbers, rounded down. If you have Expert Confluxion, it is rounded up.
4 fire + 3 Earth = 3 Magma. (With Expert Confluxion, 4 Magma)
=============
Special Skills:
Basic Confluxion: Normal Prices, Total Produced Elementals Rounded Down.
Advanced Confluxion: 85% Gold Price, Total Produced Elementals Rounded Down. 60% cost of incompatible elemental recources.
Expert Confluxion: 70% Gold Price, Total Produced Elementals Rounded Up. All combinations cost 1 recource * (number of Elems/10)
