I am a little not sure what you mean here. Some examples?
I mean is Armageddon it - Def Leppard "End of the world" type music?
We didn't start the fire - Billy Joel?
Princes - Party like it's 1999?
Songs from movies that have "End of the World" as their theme? Help.

Ok since Jiriki asked me to judge his list, here is the post doing so.
While not my personal taste, it did have songs I would have never listened to without this thread .. and having to judge the list. Which is a big bonus in my eyes. As a collection, I have to give it a 7 (out of 10). Individually they would have averaged out maybe to an 8, but together, something was just .. .off. Something I can't really put into words. Altogether a nice mix, and I enjoyed listening to things I would have never before.
Edit : Note the ONLY reason I am posting this here instead of sending it via HCM was I was asked to do this BEFORE FoG took over. If I grade any other mix tapes, it will go to FoG via HCM.

"End of the World" is the title that goes on the CD, metaphorically speaking. The rest is up to you
btw the three you listed are great

Go for it.
That'd be great to hear new stuff in other languages.
You don't have to post all the lyrics either, a synopsis will do fine.

The only two I had listened to before this was no 1 and no 6. So any but those two. I have a wide range of things I listen to, from classical to heavy metal (including some rap), but that means I miss out on a lot also. Only so much time in a day .
Ok my 'End of the World' Mix tape. Gonna include several Genres here, and WHY I feel they would fit in the Mix tape. (Please ignore spelling errors)
Ride of the Valkyries - Wagner. First, it is epic music..and second the Valkyries ride only at the end of somebodies life. Thus the end of 'their' world.
Its the end of the world as we know it - R.E.M. The title of the song says everything.
Armageddon It - Def Leppard. Armageddon is the supposed end of the world. How could you NOT have this in a mix tape about the 'end of the world'.
We didnt start the fire - Billy Joel. "Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice." - Robert Frost. That..that is why..right there.
Party like it's 1999 - Prince. "Yeah, they say two thousand zero zero party over
Oops out of time
So tonight I'm gonna party like it's 1999
Yeah" Need I say more? (Again no link cause Prince has blocked most of his music)
Enter Sandman - Metallica. It's dark, it's disturbing..fits right in with the theme.
Highway to Hell - Ac/Dc. Because it's AC/DC?
When the man comes around - Johnny Cash.
The next three are together, as in why they should be in a 'end of days' mix. It comes from watching too many 'End of Days' movies, where despite the world falling apart around them, the 'heroes' of the movies keep struggling to stay alive. Can't help but imagine riding a motorcycle while the music is blaring, pushing forward as everything (ie buildings, roads, etc) collapses.
Welcome to the Jungle- Gun's n' Roses
Danger Zone Kenny Loggins
Blaze of Glory -John Bon Jovi

On the first look, I like your list, mytical. but I'll have to listen closer to be sure
'though I feel metallica has some more fitting songs than enter sandman(the band was one of the first ppping into my midn as a "must have" for my list this round^^
for the signs of my list. You didn't know "leaving on a jetplane", "sounds of silence" and all that? hoo...but probably I wouldn't know the latter without my english teacher and the first one mentioned I know sooo long^^

I have the songs for my playlist now, I think, though still struggling for an order...
ASP ~ Die ruhe vor dem Sturm (Titel translated: "Quietness before the storm"
A song telling a storypart. in a seemingly empty, desperating, dark world, a lonely, maybe corrupted figure is standing on "the dark tower", looking down on the calm, partly allready silent world and looking at the rising storm.
Found it fitting as an intro, seeing the end of the world as this storm.
Blumfeld ~ Der Sturm (Titel translated: "the storm"
Seemed fitting after the former song the singer in this song talks to the wind, calling a storm to devastate Europe, which the singer obviously doesn't like much, at least as it is now ("...what he wracks and ruins, man has devastated before").
This song stands out of the list, musically but I took it in, not only for difference in music, mainly because it fits so great after "Die ruhe nach dem Sturm"
Die Toten Hosen ~ Nichts bleibt für Die Ewigkeit (Titel translated: Nothing stays forever)
Dark and gloomy song reminding of the perishability of everything. Found it fitting into the "End of the world"-theme
Apocalyptica ~ Harmageddon
Apocalyptica is SO fitting for this theme, carrying the apocalypse, which IS the end of the world, allready in their name. ANd especially with this song, which even more alludes to armageddon.
Bach ~ toccata and fuge
Another instrumental song, so great, marvellous and fitting into the end of teh world theme greatly, imo.
Hans Zimmer ~ The Kraken
Pirates of teh Carribean soundtrack. A great track, fitting very well here. Also, the thirs instrumental one now, completing this trio.
Metallica ~ the memory Remains
Needed Metallica here. and found thsi song most fitting. No more to say. Just listen and enjoy!
System of a Down ~ Toxicity
This song stands out a bit from teh others. It don't really desribes an end of teh world. But it describes the destruction and perversion of the world we have made and that exist in our modern society. Found it fitting very much into this, and wanted this aspect to be brougth in definitely...it's also about the question, imo, if we are bringing our world closer and closer to it's end.
Samsas Traum ~ Das Ende krönt das Werk (Titel translated: The End crowns the Creation)
A Gothic/Black-Metal piece of a band I liked VERY much earlier in my life, though I almost NOT listen to them anymore at all. Yet I still like this song much, especially the instrumental version. Here, though, I gave one with text, 'cause it was the text which made me choose it - her a translation, hopefully speaking for itself:
"Black: The mystery has woken up.
Black: The wonder has been done.
Black: Will exist forever!
Black: At the beginning of Time.
Red: the fruit of Love.
Red: Congealed Life.
Red: On all of your ways.
Red: At your birth.
Whit: In glistening light.
White: The zygote disrupts.
White: Is just a twin.
White: The black of the Night.
Nothing: In your brain, it doesn't exist.
Nothing: When the mirror expires.
Nothing: Inbelievable, wonderful.
Nothing: the last mystery forever insolvable.
I am black, a monolith.
Something which forever lasts.
I am hate, death, hirarchy,
with me come love and light!
I am white, the morning light.
Something, which disrupts the night.
Warmth & feeling of security
With me come death and decay.
Nothing: WHich would hide the stars.
Nothing: When togetherness dies.
Nothing: A bright shine inside your body.
Nothing: Vive la Nuit!
White: Only half of existance.
White: Only half of eminence.
White: like the sun!
White: like the snow.
Red: The people, like maggots,
Red: with bread and games,
Red: the blood inside of you;
red: Creates Life and Death.
Black: Lightning in the plains,
Black: Storms and Rain.
Black: Never again thinking, feeling.
Black: Never again Living!"
And of course teh titel made it one of the last pieces of the playlist.
Apocalyptica ~ Deathzone
A very fitting ending for this playlist, imo, and apocalyptica again, because they are SO fitting here!
My playlist's much more homogenous than myticals, but I hope you like it nevertheless.

Three more days to get your mixtapes in.
If anybody drops a round they're still welcome to post a new mixtape. The whole point of this is to hear new music so I'd recommend not getting too wrapped up in the competitive aspect.
