Easily changeable music files
In H3, all the music files were in a simple folder with clear cut names. If you didn't like a theme, just change the mp3. If you got sick of hearing one music for 2 weeks, just change the mp3. In H4, they were all bundled up in some archive and changing it was impossible. I never tried it in H5 so don't know what they did there.
So please, make the music files available in a folder so we can change them to our liking should we need some different.
I will slay my first boss in your name if you do that. :-P
EDIT: also, I realized that it may be I didn't find the thing with the "not available skills" button so important because I never focus on ONE strategy, especially not one focused (again) mainly on ONE spell, skill, or even artifact, usually^^

I try not to limit myself either but there are a few favourites that I try to get. War machines make sieges a lot more manageable and I love the triple ballista. If there's Dark magic available, I'll try my best to find a place to get slow and forgetfulness, two very very awesome spells when cast at mass level. Ditto for nature magic and summon phoenix/arcane armor. If I can't get war machines, I'd like Light magic + teleport (to cross walls) or nature magic + earthquake.
And I'd like to know which of these is a dead end before choosing that particular skill.
Which reminds me:
New wish:
All skill learning sites (and other bonus awarding sites) should ask for confirmation before bestowing a reward upon you
This was true in H4. If you came to a witch's hut, you could check what skill was there and whether or not you want to get it. For some unexplainable reason, this was removed in H5. If you see a witch's hut, you have to get it with a secondary hero because you just might mess up your main hero's skills if that place teaches an unwanted skill BECAUSE YOU CAN'T REFUSE THE REQUEST. Now since skills will be selected via a tree like menu or something, this should still apply to other sites that give "bonuses" that can potentially screw up your strategy.

Yep, that was one of the many good things about WoG (super-mod for H3), you could choose whether you actually learned a skill. Hells if you 'slighted' her she'd make you forget the skill, which could be useful if you'd picked up a useless skill through a level-up.

YES Mp3 files nothing we have to change to something else to hear; like the pics in H5 not using something easy and common like "Jpeg or bmp"

Need some input on this one.
Check this thread about neutral creatures...
http://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?TID=34098
I was wondering how it would be like if we had the town creatures as usual and LOTS of neutrals. I mean not 10-15, more like 30-40. All creatures would be aligned to one town type or another and racial abilities would apply on them. And we could associate a map dwelling with a town so that as the town makes its citadel and castle the creature production increases.
I got this idea from WOG. I was playing a map with Tower but my troop lineup was:
-Lords of Thunder (Level 8 creatures, upgrades of Titans)
-Santa Gremlins (neutrals, aligned with tower)
-Sorceresses (neutrals, aligned with tower, ranged troops)
-Gorynyches (flying three headed hydra)
-Naga Queens
-Arch Magi
-Master Gremlins
Here's the full screenshot:
Screenshot
As you can see, it's a very varied mix from the usual troop lineup (almost entirely focused on range attacks) and it was a uniquely enjoyable experience. The enemies that I faced in that map were also sporting quite unusual armies.
That is something I would love to see in H6, and properly integrated as well. Since placing the dwellings would be up to the mapmaker, the balance issue would also be their responsibility, not the game makers.
What do you folks think?

So, since you requested it, blerd
...so, I'm not sure 'bout your last idea. Mainly, it is not SO much a game feature in closer sense, but we have similiar things already in the list. One could put it as "LOTS of neutral creatures (30+)" Yet I don't even consider that really much, nor do I think it should be a counterpart to less factions. I'd like more factions AND more creatures
Yet I'm nto so much teh "uniqueness&balance" type^^ I think I would like a game with, lets say, 12 factions, 10-12 creatures each (not counting updates, placed on core, elite &champion in a 4, 4, 2 way or such, maybe with a choice system) and another 100 neutrals, making over 200 creatures without upgrades. Why not??? But I know many don't like such.

I wish more varied battlefiels. There where only battles in town or off town. Battlefields like bridges or in mines would be nice. The player has now to think about more strategic veriety before attacking the enemy army. He has to choose if he wants to fight on a bridge (Which makes it harder for melee units to reach the opponent range units) or if he wants to walk at a nother point to fight on an open battlefield.
edit:
And here my votes:
-Random Events
-Different water terrains
-A way to defend your buildings/bases without using creatures
-Bigger Battlefields
-simultaneous retaliation (but just as ability)
-combats with more than one hero on one side
-infinite (weak) retaliation for most creatures (as ability)
-progressive retaliation=ret. not capped by a number of strikes, but an amount of damage done.
-Chess-like Battle (Hero as King)
-Hexagons-BAttlefield (H3) isntead of Squares-Battlefield (H5)
-variable campaign structure
-Include Tournament "Campaigns" (incl. Multiplayer)
-Faction Editor
-Creature Editor (I loved editing Warcraft 3)
-each tavern has different heroes for hire
-Advanced classes (as in H4)
-2 hero classes by faction
-switchable mounts with different benefits
-no ultimate skill/perk
-choose racial skill for any hero (thus quasi making him the hero class of your like) instead of hero belonging to one class, having it's racial
-a skill to improve the spellcasting prowess of creatures
-Spell schools by effect
-more spells
-Can learn spells in mage guilds of allied castles:bad:
-Spies available in thieves guild, capable of watching an area
-2 creatures per level.
-possible to build several capitoles
-Mini-towns
-Creature Experience, but only stat boost, no new abilities.
-creature Experience, including new skills&abilities
-unit counters - abilities making unit stronger against certain types of other units (like, f.e., mounted units)
-higher chance for creatures joining your army when they have the same faction as the hero(whould be imba in multiplayer)
-Very strong Neutral Tier 8 Creatures
-more complex sieges
-more diplomatic options - changing allies, etc. during scenario (just in special scenarios)
-ambushs
-more naval elements in the game, different boat types
-stepping in and out of boats -> movement costs + reminder instead of loosing the turn
-weather
-Mini-factions (as neutrals)
-loan option like in h3wog (what?)
-A button in the scenario information panel (accessible while selecting a map to play AND during normal gameplay) that tells you exactly which spells, skills, artifacts etc. have been disabled for the current map.
-Make the marketplace exchange rates less expensive (that would ruin the funktions of mines)
-more peaceful visuals, less "shiny" art
-Terrain defines look of towns (intown, too)
-Fluid animations
-Easily changeable music files(!)
-Whack-a-baby-seal minigame in taverns
-Darts in taverns

o sry I didnt read all posts
Edit:
Another idea (I hope we didnt have this already): Some units like the sentinel can protect friendly units behind them for missiles with their shield if they are standing between the shooter and the target (like in H4). This would make the battles more dynamic because the player has to give more attention to the position of his units.

untis protecting units behind them...that would belong more into the ability creation thread here or the special ability thread here sicne its about a cerrtain ability rather than a real game feature...a bit too specific...also, it's not really to my liking because a stack is not a single creature...so it's abit unrealistic. Yet, what about stacking is NOT unrealistic? XD

Random effects
Different water terrains
Day and night like disciples 3
Simple Day and Night cycle
Many options when starting a battle
Creature editor ohhh Yes!
Weather would be awesome!
More peaceful visuals, less "shiny" art
Realistic visuals - NOT 3D and such, but the things looking realistic, in opposite to a comic look
Terrain defines look of towns (intown, too) this is what i REALLY wanna see!!!!!!!!!!!!

It seems too late to suggest much more but I'd love to see them NOT use so many undressed women like they did in Heroes 5. Really do they think it is a bonus to go into battle without armor or clothes?

Of course it is, just think how many teenage hormone-driven boys play the game an totally fail at tactics as soon as they see a pair of boobs.
On a serious note, however, I'm against many neutrals. Neutrals are for me a waste of creatures; you put a lot of effort into making a creature but it doesn't get to play in a faction and thus is rarely encountered or at least controlled in the game.
I'd rather see them making a new faction than more neutrals.

That's why I'm a supporter of mini-towns / outposts / mini-factions or whatever you may want to call. They would make you able to use some neutrals to diversify your army and still not make them overused.
For example, there could be a Conflux outpost, where the player who controls it gets a creature pool much like in the city, but you can choose which elemental you want to buy, instead of that random dwelling from H5. They could even have a nice 'town screen'. Another one could be the swamp outpost, that enables you to recruit, lets say, lizardmen, basilisks and wyverns. I am fairly certain such system would not become overpowered, because:
- The creatures are just equal in power level as faction ones.
- This would merely offer diversity, adding to the tactic options of the controller (and flavor in army choosing ), but don't grant him resources to buy tons of creatures, making it indeed just a way of tweaking the armies so they could fit more to the player style and necessities against the opponent.
- Everyone would be able to enjoy it.
- And, of course, they should earn it fighting the outpost.
Edit: Oh, and I forgot. They are much easier to fit into the world. They don't need their own campaign and not much lore (compared to real factions) is needed to make them work.

^ this reminds me, I really want the neutrals to have a much bigger role in H6. They should work as a recruitable mercenaries that really pays of getting, both early and late game.
However for this to work the Heroes of H6 must not be as bound to their faction creatues as they were in H5. For example it is quite obvious that Gating and Necromancy will only work with inferno respectively necropolis creatures. With Necromancy it's okey since it lore-wise it would definitely not work raising "living" creatures, but it would be awesome if they could raise neutral undead creature as well, making the necromancers work well with its' neutral "brethren". Gating, Blood rage, runelore and all of those should be working with ALL units in the game for the sake of gameplay. Sure it might not make sense lore-wise but it would be to boring otherwise.
If I don't like Necropolis heroes I should be able to have a Inferno hero in its place.

Hmmm, right jabanoss, soem points made...I think we had such ideas sometimes or others, here.
Also, I will, at home, without internet, try to make some further explanations. I plan, then, to open a new thread for evaluation. I think that would be a good idea, we could compare the things better than, when everybody votes about any point...do you agree?
