I talked to Caius after getting cured, and now that I know that the Blades blackmail their OWN people I feel less bad about Delphine and Esbern dumping me in Skyrim. 
I also lol'd when Caius told me that the nine hells were going to break loose when the Emperor dies.  No kidding!

Got this game a couple nights ago. Still figuring out where I'm supposed to go, and what needs doing. Quite often encumbered. Does the weight limit increase?
Edit: Found on the wiki that it does. Though, haven't looked through in what ways. Good that it does though.

I just started this game a couple of days ago and it is my first elder scroll game ever... I have decided to create a character who is a nord and uses 1h+shield. I don't use magic things and I haven't studied anything about crafting or alchemy just to keep things simple. Therefore, I have no idea how do they work...
I'm concentrating on quests (especially in main quests) but now I'm stuck! I'm heading to the Greybeards but cannot pass the frost troll... I'm lvl 7 at the moment so it is a big trouble... I have also bunch of arrows to shoot him but it seems like that he keeps healing. He can kill my character in 3 hits and I barely do any dmg to him... I thought skyrim was supposed to be not so hard game... 
Also I would like to know how to fight by melee properly. I just charge against enemies and keep hitting with my 1h weapon and that has been enough to defeat bandits and some mages while using potions sometimes, until this frost troll... Is that OK way to fight? And I would like to know about the blocking system with the shield. Is it OK that I hold the LB button on xbox controller all the time until the enemy has landed his attack? Or should I time the blocking correctly? I just have seen that I get some damages even though I was holding the shield up.

Yup, in vanilla Skyrim you can just shield bash anything repeatedly and win. It interrupts and stuns them, even dragons are no match for it.
If you wanna do it stylishly you can bash him with a torch to both interrupt him and cancel his regen by setting him on fire.

Hmmm wonder if it was Sperg or Skyre that had an "adventurer" skilltree branch that boosted the use of 1-hand + torch, adding block bonuses and extra fire damage. Was a really cool idea.

IIRC the Frost Troll is SUPPOSED to be difficult, so don't be discouraged. If it's really too much trouble and you don't want to just go level up and try again later though, try to run past it and let the Graybeards take care of it for you.

Well I managed to escape the troll so he didn't catch me After that I went another quest where I encountered it again near the snow labyrinths! But this time I had a companion whom the troll attacked so I was able to use fire magic and attack him safe so I got him even though it was quite a close fight. After this I encountered two of them so then I decided to escape again btw that time I learned about magic first time and I can see that the healing spell is very useful
About shield bashing, I'm not sure if I'm doing it correctly. Sometimes it stuns the enemy but sometimes it doesn't. Maybe the enemy was too far so my shield didn't hit him? I encountered a skeleton who used 2H-weapon and he was in defensive position. Then I shield bash him without any effect so I guess I need to time it correctly again... I didn't know that shield bashing is so useful as you guys say like that because I have always used it just for blocking and, therefore, reducing some damages... but not very effectively though
I have now tried everything crafting things like alchemy, crafting, cooking... never managed to enchant items though because I don't know what it requires or how does it work

how to enchant your crap in Skyrim:
1. Aquire loads of crap with magical properties e.g. drain life, soultrap, etc.
2. Use enchanting table to "disenchant" all the crap. you will get those properties in your enchanting options, however, it does destroy the items.
3. make sure you have filled soul gems. soul level determines the strength of the enchantment. petty is the lowest, grand is the greatest
4. when using enchantment table, you select the item you want to enchant, the property(with a perk in enchanting you can get 2 properties on one item, however to get it you need to level up your enchanting significantly) and the soulgem. you can rename the item to whatever the bleep you want.
5. ???
6. Profit.
there you go, a simple guide to enchanting in skyrim.

Also the enchantments for "Muffle" and "Water Breathing" are the same strength no matter what size Soul Gem you're using, so you don't need to waste a Grand Soul Gem on those if they're on the list of enchantments you want.

Fifty levels later realise you've powerleveld on nothing but smithing and enchanting and now even a rat does more damage.

I detest useless un-fulfilling grinding. What I would give for a Dark Messiah style smithing, quality of experience over quantity.

Not if you have that dagger honed properly it won't. 
Besides, you need to go out and get more raw materials eventually.

Thx now I know how enchanting work I enchanted my dwarven shield and it got only +1% fire resistance... I don't know if it was worth it Btw when you disenchant items, can you "store" your available enchants? I mean, can you sacrifice your magical items so their magical effect still remain on the table for later use?
I just passed the main mission called "diplomatic immunity" which was pretty tough because I failed its beginning a little because I didn't transport any gears at all.... I had to fight against first guards without any armors and weapons with my warrior character who only wore party clothes! I had to rely on fire spell, fist and unrelenting force This took so many tries but eventually I killed the first guard and managed to take his gears so it became a little easier. Luckily the game gives you the fire spell as default because without it I would have never survived this mission... Just imagine 2 tough guardians and a magician vs you alone

Yeah magical effects remain so you can strip all items for them and alter, when your enchanting is maxed, you can make use of them.
BTW. Alchemy+enchanting+smithing is a little OP combo. Like maxed out armor from steel kinda of OP. And 300 damage daggers.
Silly Kareeah, you just quicktravel to the next city and buy the stores dry because you're making too much money anyway.

I got a little cheat mod enabled which essentially is a mine with unlimited ores.
can save your money and make more of it in the early levels.
sell all the ebony bars!
