The absorb health enchantment on any weapon is going to make a profit.

Also you can get transmute pretty early on and can convert all iron to gold, then you can make gold rings. This is extremely profitable as well.

Alchemy is probably the most profitable though. Once you get a good base of recipes, the profits are exponential on your potions. Many of the cheapest ingredients yield really profitable potions.

However, I would definitely say its impossible to beat Skyrim on Master or Legendary difficulty without at least leveling smithing and enchanting.

No it's not. The game gets harder if you level them both up because of level scaling. Especially if you're a mage since spells do fixed damage that does not scale.

That said, the game is not particularly hard on any difficulty if you know how to play.

Side quest spoiler below.... stop reading now if you don't want to know about it

I just rescued the Madanach in Markath city and now I'm wondering if I made a mistake... His group killed a lot of people on the streets of the city. I hope that they didn't kill any NPCs who would give me more side quests... did they? I just watched the fight in the city until they they left and then I fast travelled to Whiterun but if something bad really happened I would like to make another decision....

Banish and paralyze .... ** absorb health. If you can get Banishing or paralyze even at 10k, its worth the investment and will pay for itself very fast.

Paralysis is OP, all I used to do on the Xbox version is go to the swamp and mass produce potions of paralysis, even at the lowest alchemy level you'll still get 3 seconds (about 2 more for the guy to get up) which is all you need. Of course with Requiem and monster mod installed going to the swamps is suicide for me, but then there's the spell, but I never bothered with alteration.

@Kip and heroes: I really wanted to shiv BOTH sides. Neither really has any redeeming qualities.

On enchants:
The biggest problem I found was finding someone with enough gold to buy them. Speaking of which, does anyone know where in the Creation Kit you need to go to change that?

Combat-wise, I didn't use Banish much (why do you want the loot to run away???) but I like Paralysis on a bow. With a Flame damage enchantment if I can do both, so my target takes damage as they stand up—it's useful if they fall over in a spot where I can't shoot them on the ground. I also like Soul Trap; my Khajiit had a secondary bow I used for hunting with Soul Trap on it.

@Kareeah: on one of my characters I went and shot every member of clan silverwhatevertheyrebloodycalled in the face with a crossbow. and then looted their treasury.
I agree on your view on those both sides. The Forsworn are murdering for the sake of murdering and those silverwhatevertheyrebloodycalled are just corrupt basterds.

I also have a little mod installed which makes skyrim feel more alive sort of speak, basically it adds some random roaming npcs. those too sometimes fell to my murderous rampages.
it does add a great relief in my self created anger management treatment.
also had a little mod which caused bandit parties to raid the major cities, but I got it uninstalled once it gone awry and killed the guard in Whiterun who opnes the gate for you when you first get there :/

and regarding the killing spree of innocent villagers it's best if you have a high skill in sneak and archery, otherwise the guards will be all over your arse.

This is so awesome game... Here is my character at the moment, he is lvl36 nord if I remember correctly and here are some of his skill levels approximately:

Illusion lvl 100
Restoration lvl 45
Enchanting lvl 40
Alchemy lvl 35

1-hand lvl 85
Block lvl 45
Heavy armor lvl 45
Smithing lvl 35

Lockpicking lvl 45
Speech lvl 40

And I spent the perks on 1-hand, blocking, heavy armor and restoration. Actually, I never used illusion in real situations like in combats... I just casted its spell when I was exploring or selling things in towns so I levelled it up quite cheaply After I get most daedric artifacts and complete all thieves guild's and dark brotherhood's quests, I'm gonna start a new game with a pure mage

Btw I have some questions about enchanting again so my character is Nord who has +50% frost resistance. I found enchanted orcish boots which have +50% frost resistance. Now if I wear them, will the resistances stack? Does it mean that I would be completely immune to frost? If not, how much frost resistance I have in total?

Also, is it enough if only the boots have the frost resist enchantment or do I have to have all armor sets with frost resist enchantment so I will gain full benefits? I mean, if the boots have the frost resist but enemy cast a frost bolt to my chest, do I suffer less damage too?

It caps out at 85% so you're not completely invulnerable Still, you'll pretty much laugh it off.

Doesn't matter what parts have the enchantment either.

Well that's very nice then I just got Ebony Mail which is very badass-looking armor... I think it is possibly the best one ever since after I improved it by smithing, its price is now 25k golds which is the biggest amount I have ever seen in the game Also, it has the highest armor rating and an unique effect so far. I think my character is quite unbeatable at the moment... I have got all Ebony armor pieces and improved them so their armor is very high at the moment. Imagine when I get better ones when my smithing continues to level up...

Playing Skyrim consists of 60% installing mods, 30% trying to figure out what kinda character I want to play, and 10% actually playing the damn game.

This time I will play a stealth bomber. Vampire wearing Coldharbour equipment and using Cold Flame spells + Illusion. Sneaks in with invisibility right among enemies, charges up Cold Flame Storm and releases it. Then draws Daedric Greatsword of Coldharbour and cleans up the survivors.

Le grand entrance. FWOOOOOOSH!

I have a lot of Witcher and GoT armor models in my mods, along with immersive armors/weapons mods as well as I believe some RL western knight armors.

loads of crap overall, most of my time spent in game is trying out various sets of armor on my char...

Now I think that I have the best armors and weapon in the game, and I have also upgraded them as best as I could... Daedric Armor set except the Ebony Mail plus Daedric Mace with 300 base damage... In addition, I have bought all homes and I have over 20k money left... My nord is lvl 55 with 150 magic, 400 health and 300 strength, and hardly any opponent can challenge me, for example, the Draug Deathlords only require 2-3 hits from my mace until he is down (I remember how painful the Deathlords were because earlier they did a lot of dmg and it took me forever to slay them...)

So now I have the best equipment, bunch of money and my hero is quite immortal for anything. There is not much to do anymore All guild quests are done except the mage guild one which will maybe be very easy with my nord, I suppose. Of course there is plenty of unvisited dungeons but I think my character is already the best ever so there is not much profit from them anymore... I mean, I visit the dungeons only for money and better equipment So what should I do now ? Any suggestions? Or should I try other Elder Scroll games?
