Well, from what we've seen in both BA and the campaigns, there are neither Scholars, Witch Huts nor Universities. We can hope that's only a design of those maps, but ...

Are there 'Fight X for Y reward' map locations?

Yes, there are sites like that.
At present there are 5 sites I know of:
Arena
Ruins
Pyramid
Hellgate
Barbarian Camp
Arena everyone knows.
The others are places where to find "loot". Ruins can have any opposition, I think, while Pyramid will have Necro opposition, Hellgate Inferno opposition and the Barbarian Camp ... you guessed it.

One woul assume, from symmetry, that there would also be a location dedicated to Have and Sanctuary. Wasn't there some sort of drowned city in one of the screen shots, or was that a different game?

By the way guys, don't you think there should be more adventure map places?
Exploration is much more fun with extra stuff to do on map...

I have a memory of some sort of "ruin in the ocean", i.e. only able to visit by ship.

Obviously. I miss Watermills (flaggable), Windmills (flaggable), fairy-garden style places (flaggable) and Witch Huts, just to name what comes to mind.

I also miss unit-specific places to clean. Naga bank, Griffin sanctuary... I also loved warrior's tomb (even though it was a too good) and ...
...
Dragon utopia!
With no dragons, there will be no utopias. Sad.

Maybe those dragons are non-hostile and just give away resources like they were candy?

Elvin has said several times that the 'no dragons' idea is untrue, so I guess there' be dragon bosses. Whether they be in form of the elemental dragons, of which we saw two today (see news thread), or just plain Black/Red/Green/Gold/whatever Dragons of old days, I have no clue.

As for Enlightenment, not sure if the power growth of XP makes it more or less useful, it's mostly an early game skill for sure, but the main (only?) reason to learn it is for Mentor ability in rank II, which allows you to give XP up to no less than 75 % (really, UbiSoft?) of your current level, which effectively means every secondary hero becomes your level minus one. So much for preventing spamming of supportive skills on secondary heroes.
Yeah, I've read the problem with Enlightenment is that it will rarely if ever actually get you any significant number of levels ahead of anyone else, even if you take it from the first turn. To compound the issue you were talking about, I believe Mentor doesn't even require Enlightenment, it's just directly below it on the tree.
I've always kind of felt that Logistics is the real Enlightenment anyway (more creeps per turn = more exp). Of course, it does a lot more than that, too.

Well the trick is with enlightenment, in the long run, you will not get a netto level advantage - at some point, when the XP you need to get to next level is more than 10 % of the cumulated XP you've earned up to that level, you will not have won enough extra XP to get an extra level. But that does not mean Enlightenment is worthless, because it will still mean faster levels in early game, which is an advantage - one can then ask if the 10 % is sufficient to make a detail, which is probably unlikely, but in the rare case it might.

but if you spend your 3 first levels to get enlightment expert, and your opponent spend them to get attack expert, even if you reach level 4 when he reaches level 3, he still has an obvious advantage. I mean, in heroes 3.

Indeed, good point. I guess it's better in Heroes 6 because it's only one skill, but I think the best solution was probably Heroes 5 that added a secondary effect (stat bonus), even if it was broken. Plus, it gave you access to specific perks, so it was not just for the reason of the skill alone.

Enlightenment won't stay a mere 10%. And obviously this is the kind of skill that pays off later, not in early levels.
