I don't really get what you mean by left-click? Town screen opens when I enter it, and then click town hall to build grail for the win.

Anyway, I'm done with it. That was really a huge map, took tons of hours to complete and I'm now really tired Felt like neverending journey!

This is one hell of an addictive and in the same time annoying map
As I hate easy walks over the maps I started first time with MOE. At one point there was such mithril need, which made me to give up, because I have to wait month or 2 only fighting CB-s.... There was no way to make so much mithril to convert towns and take abilities - upgrades. Spells are not too easy to upgrade also. I thought I am playing some other map when I read about it, and especially that Tevez guy. Until I saw how he made that much mithril. I hate to reload 125651253 times until I get what I want from random things. It just ruins all the fun in the map. Also I don't think faster finish with many reloads will help you in multiplayer games, but this is other question.
So I started MOW. Until 7-8 month my progress was very good comparing to yours.(almost the same) And from then this countless CB fighting become so annoying. Armagedon was not of much help since most of the CB were almost full already, and Armagedon was way behind in upgrades. So I used my demons for QC of bigger ones and armagedon for smaller. In the process I got much more frustrated in finding hidden paths, quests. The game become slower and slower. So when I needed the demons in Thant fight(for minor losses), got mad in going around the map and transferring armies, so I stopped CB fights(early 13 month). Used them only to get new heroes from prisons to 40-50 lvl in 1 full naggas/cyclopes CB.
Beside that I used demons only in 2-3 fights beside final one, and efreets in several more. The combo artifact is way too good. I tried fighting the guy with azures with and without it. With it with same army, my devils kill 1000 azures per hit, and in the same time I loose 200-300 on 1800 stack hit. Without it - it is reverse - I kill 200-300, and loose 1000-1500. Just sick.
Finally killed Maximus at the end of 18 month Tried it at 19 month, not so much harder than previous.
I didn't get the dwarven treasury, but didn't try very much after first fail just give it up since my heroes produce this quantity for 10 days or less probably
Also I never used mithril marker and the arena for the same reasons. But get really frustrated in beginning from dragon caves - almost always gives me resources that I didn't need or devils/efreets, sharps at best, so left them also with other CB. But the biggest frustrations were from peasant quest - with my luck I played it literally more than 1 hour reloads
And the other one - I was farmed my sharps to demons just a week before I had to fight Evil Element, so I did that fight with 400 sharps and devils - almost 80 rounds frost ring-s and resurection.......
In general - this is again one of your masterpieces. For all previous ones I found my ways to go around the annoying stuff in them - like placing heroes over the shrines in Alexander(if you massacre the second wave with Alexander it is easy to place heroes on shrines and loose almost nothing ) But this time there was no alternative to CB creeping. If I am not playing MOW I don't know if I will have the nerves to do it almost till the end. Usually I don't like much maps where you have to develop more than 2-3 secondary heroes. But yours are the best Heroes maps I have ever played along the two Tanzi maps for SOD and several KingSlayer maps(although his ones are like viking tactics run and hide to some point in which you found something that allows you to decimate entire map, and this is annoying often)
I believe I should play 300 spartans, as this is the only yours I didn't. And really hope that will make another one even after several months. I know it is ungrateful, long and hard work. Tried to made a map before long time with a friend of mine. But anyway I believe WOG will die if there are not good mapmakers left like you, KingSlayer and few more. And I really hope "Long life Wake of Gods!" - I like to be addicted to it

I have a thumb rule to not exploit a successful map by doing similar sequels but rather create new ideas with each one, which may explain why not everyone enjoys. I agree about CB's being tedious to defeat, but I had in mind a 8-9 months game play and several other options as:

a) You dislike CB constant farming, play MoW and farm only the biggest ones to get levels=free mithril
b) You dislike CB but don't want free mithril, play MoS, with 2 armageddons even full banks die in one round.
c) You want the hard way, no early bonuses but good score, play speed master. The most challenging but longer (in time management)
d) MoD I don't know, never tested, I just knew they are overpowered and that's enough.

Paths: I did not focus on hiding things, the way is rather easy to find, much easier than top maps. There is not a single modification of objects with special editor, and over top of it, you can find any seer hut or border gate in one click, people tend to forget how annoying is this on big maps usually.

This inspired me to try how fast the map can be beat with MoD faction.

This is not as easy as it looks, it took me a lot time to organize everything properly and many many reloads.  This is by far the most time consuming gaming project I had after my wow days were over.  the dragons cave alone took at least 300 hours of game time but it can be auto-combat after you farm about 5000 mithrils and make your army very powerful.

please do NOT flame... i admit this is indeed using an exploit to generate very large movement points but no cheat codes were used at all.  the purpose of this is simply to see if the end game bosses can be beaten with no end turns.

although the movement trick solves many of the problems keep in mind your army will be very small and I haven't tested many of the later bosses yet.

I am about halfway done the map in this mode so I will post more in the future.

So far I spent most of the time organizing everything so I can beat jaegar before month 2 and get the admiral hat before new month.  i am not sure if you can beat all bosses in month 1 yet, since in best case scenario you only have 35-40 barons and not enough mithril for fire immunity so I had to end a turn to month 2 week 1 day 1 to beat ajit.


I will do a quick walk-through when i get time.  right now I am still farming mithril for piquedram, the idea of fighting him with only 50 units is still scaring me and there is a cap on HP so with 30% shield 30% def you still take 40% dmg or about 40k dmg and with around 130 sp can only rez ~21k we will see...

was fun map and it takes time.  anyways we will see if I can beat maximus without any end turns  mathematically it is possible (EDIT no longer the case will need at least 1 more week to get more army)

I can build around 6-7 towns before end of week since 600 resources per day from 2(EDIT 3 now lol!) cornucopias and with 2-3 dwelling upgrade that will give me about 40-50 extra devils, not sure if 100 devils will be enough to beat Galtharan though - without bless they only do about 1.7k dmg each now.  I just want to reach Erdamon; from there it will be easy since you can buy devils from magic shop.

I don't recall if their ability works or not on undead, but if not, Thant will be a dead end, on cursed ground.

I think the "perfect" map could have some sort of check points, where border guards open only if you are in a specific time, get army reward and go further. In this way a very fast player could manage to have same army than a very slow one. But then  I will have a horde of slow noobs crying at injustice...already tried that in Alexander.

I am not criticizing slow players. Myself I like to play slowly a new map, exploring and taking my time. Is about balance when you are mapmaker, hard to please both slow and fast players. But I had endless complaints about bonus borders in Alexander, these players just couldn't accept that army behind the border is no more accessible.

That is indeed correct, the petrify does not work on cursed ground, but after 1 week I got 160 extra devils (14dwellings are OP) so now I am pumping around 300k dmg per turn I think I should have no problem.

Man, this is just sick. I can't imagine how much time you spent on bording and unboarding to get so much movement extra. And even less imaginable what fun does it make.
By the way I am playing MOE now. Much less time farming CB (although stupid AI pretty often don't cast armaggedon on imp cache, my hero dies, and I have to reload and fight manualy and clear it with 1 armaggedon, not even 2 necessary) And shrines rules ^^
In 2 fights with Rust dragons I experienced some strange glitch. I doubt it is script related, but anyway - my devils were able to BLIND stack of Rust dragons on hit for 3 rounds. It happened in the fights on mithrill market and the legion near Malekith. This never happened in any other fight.....

p.s.: the mithrill market should've had lower prices. Like this it is not usable with any faction. Only MOW can allow to pay, but they don't need to, since they are producing much more. For every other, 2000 resources AND 1000000 gold for 10 mithril is just too much. Maybe if it was 100 mithrill it wouldn't be so useless

Honestly at this level of competition yes you need to farm CBs to buy all the creatures in the town.  The game gets progressively easier after you reach the dragons cave.  Having unlimited mithril is simply overpowering.  Once your devils have 300+ dmg -> 1.7k each you can auto-combat the dragons cave.  You need about 13,000 mithril total to get them to the desire stats and upgrade 6 towns.  Once you beat Piquedram and have 3 cornucopias tho you have all the resources you need to grab around 200 devils.  The army of 200 is ridiculous, with 180 att and def and 310 dmg you are dealing around 320k dmg per turn without bless.  The health is also big and with the artifact combo I think you reach about 7000 health per devil so thats more than plenty for endgame bosses.

@cursed, yes it is boring and painful and at times I felt like quitting, but the reward of playing so competitive is nice too!  I guess after you spend 3000+ hours on mmos like wow your system gets used to the mindless grinds

@cursed and yes I agree the mithril market is completely useless, but who needs it when you have the dragons cave lol.  And im not sure what how you are experiencing that bug...

In the meantime,

Yeah, there is a bug with AI abilities, I noticed it in all maps. Sometimes first or last AI stack has a mixture of abilities from your stacks and something else. Happened me today in tew3, attacked cyclops and last stack was immune to blind, earth and water, while all others not. Weird.

Salamandre I meant MY devils blind stack of rust when hit them. The mix of abilities in AI I am used to. Honestly I thought it was made by you, until I fought Aine for the second time. Last time I remember that trere was stack of ench which I hypnotized to resurrect my army. This time both were magic immune. But this with Rust dragons happened to me in my previous game also. If the devils were able to blind on hit, there would be no need to spend money for hell barons
