I believe the egyptian feel could fit quite well if subtly implemented within the haunted theme. Meaning it doesn't necessarily has to erase the hauntish feel in order to exist.

I wouldn't say best. But it is one of the biggest and outlandish, which doesn't really suit my tastes.

Personally I like the egypcian theme and the poison green color theme, and I think the weaver was an interesting creature with a cool mechanic.
I don't like some things though, like the Lamasus or the lore revamp on drinking spider venom to become vampires and evolve into liches... not makes much sense, though at least it deviates from the typical vampire (I don't like vampires).
If we're allowed to vote lineups for necro I'd try to get rid of both lamasus and vampires, though I know taking vampires from the faction is a lost cause and probably all options would feature it anyway.

Lamasu was a failed attempt to introduce a new elite creature. Obviously they weren't satisified with wraiths or couldn't design them properly to look different from those in h5 so they had to introduce a new unit.
I just hope they don't bring it back. It sucks.

Once more I agree with you, mate.
@Ubi: remove Lamassu asap (many of us scream that it sucks)
bring back wraiths with a design suitable to what you have in mind for the rest of the Necro lineup

Well, maybe someone has already mentined it, but the style used for necropolis in H6 and DoC is actually not egyptian, but mix of akkadian/mesopotamian and egyptian. Considering that most of the town names in H5 and H6 were either Akkadian or in its style, + lamassu (although in altered form) in the lineup. It could be said that the mesopotamian element is actually stronger than egyptian.
Anyway i can go with both looks (the haunting gothic one and the egyptian-mesopotamian one). The last one is actuallly one that is often seen as a suitable and perhaps classic look for ancient sinister civilization or something necromantic.

I do not expect the Lamassu to make a comeback. Why? Think about their backstory - a beastmen experiment by the Academy didn't work out, so their bodies were handed over to the Necromancers. That's all well and good, but then consider that there's a finite number of bodies that you can turn into Lamassus. It's the bodies of a specific creature - a specific failed experiment that I doubt the Silver Cities will intentionally repeat when the Necropolis goes "Yeah, uh, we ran out of those. Can you make more?" Any other Necropolis unit can be converted from any other species - anything can be a basic skeleton, or a ghoul, zombie, lich, vampire, whatever... and those spider ladies are a species unto their own. Lamassus, however, are limited by how many bodies the Necropolis has, and when they run out (which I'm sure they have by the Fourth Eclipse), they're out.
