- Allright. We're low on men, and I'll gladly sign you up with the Free Company- Dragomir said, and finished his drink. the glass was refilled instantly by the wine bearer.
The old Lady Raddwil seemed pleased. the basterd boy was brought up along the rest of Raddwil children, but he had no inheritance rights or any other privilege of a lord. and it seemed that becoming a member of the Brotherhood of the Tattered Banner was the only viable option for this young man.
- Even if you're a bit less skilled for our standarts, our own master-at-arms will get you in shape.- Dragomir said- We'll be in town for a few days, our armorer has some work to do. I expect you- He addressed Mikolaj- To be at our campsite by evening, today. we'll do all the formalities.- Dragomir finished his drink. He refused more. He stood up, and bowed slightly to the Lady Raddwill.
- Good day to you my lady. Lad, don't forget. evening, our camp. it's near the southern barracks. you'll know it when you'll see it.- He was escorted out of the palace. The meal at the palace wasn't quite filling for dragomir, so he went to one of the better taverns in the city. The establishment was called "Dragon's Rest". this fine tavern was famous for it's crayfish meals. that's what Dragomir ordered. a nice pot of boiled crayfish with ale to wash it down.

Meanwhile Magnus was busy hammering out the pieces for John's greaves. It was a challenge to an extent, because of the size of the armor. by now he was making the second frontal piece. the first one was getting heat treated. on the side, one of the apprentices that Magnus pulled to get him were preparing the solution in which the dwarven steel would reveal it's pattern.
Magnus took a swig from his wineskin and continue to hammer out the piece of red hot metal into a piece of armor.

Isabella found that Allikha had jsut returned from a cheese vendor, with a bit of fourhorn cheese. he was sitting by the arms wagon, and eating his cheese with bread and bacon. his prized yataghan sword was right besides him.
- Oh, hello Isabella- he said.- Here to hone your skills? or join me in a meal?

John stayed in the camp as he usually did. He disliked cities and he was a good guard as well. He did give Portel half his salary and asked to bring him food - something interesting and filling. Portel liked food and ate as much as the half-giant so it wasn't the first time that John put his trust in the man. While he waited, he took his tattered shirts and started patching them up with the materials from the last stash they found. It was delicate work considering how small the needle was in his hands, so it took him a while and also helped pass the time.
After a while he saw Allikha and Isabella come back. He put down his things and wandered over, looking for some company.

Francis was worried of missing out on some meeting, even though on further thought he didn't remember Dragomir mentioning an hour in which they would regroup, he returned to the camp and saw that most of the company was still out, but then he was struck by a sudden cramp in his stomach, even though he had a snack along the way he was quite hungry, so he decided to go in a tavern nearby and eat a proper lunch instead of relying on some pastry he ate beforehand.
The tavern was quite tidy and the food was decent, Francis, although accustomed more to courtly food, had developed a taste for homely food during his travels, so he enjoyed the meal, took some water to drink, as he was scared of getting drunk, and went back to camp.
Once he returned he saw that the camp was still almost empty, so he decided to just wait for his other comrades there, he still had some books to finish, and had bought some others, so it's not like he didn't have anything to keep himself occupied...

Walking around back in town in order to get something to eat Elena could only think how much she missed the restaurants in Kythay. The desks with chairs and windows where you could sit right there on the street, enjoying a bowl of ramen or just getting an onigiri from some window. So much faster. She understood it was mostly her being homesick, but some disappointment was still present. Still, she managed to find a small stand selling some grilled meat where she hastily bought half a chicken and some sort of side Pota-something. She really needed to learn the words for these things. Finishing her meal she returned to camp.
Once there she noticed Isabella and Allikha chatting with John moving towards them as well. Looks like fighting. Guess i'll join she thought, walking towards them as well.

Dragomir finished his meal at "Dragon's Rest". the thanked the tavernkeep, and payed for the food and drink. it was a hearty meal indeed, and it left Dragomir craving for more. He drove away from the temptation, as he made his way to the camp. along the way he encountered young Mikolaj. he was wearing his light plate and sword at his side, and was carrying a large rucksack with his supplies.
- Hey m'lord, I was just making my way to the camp.- He said
- All right. took you quicker than I expected- A smile could be seen at Drago's face, although his beard covered it.- Let's walk together.
The walk to the Brotherhood's campsite was a short one. soon enough, Dragomir had a ledger with all the names of each man and woman that has served within the Brotherhood with him, as well as a quill and an inpot.
- You put your name here- He showed an empty spot, beneath the last member who signed in.- Your full name, the date of joining, as well as your blood print.
- My blood print ser?
- Yes. You prick your thumb with a needle, and press it on the paper. see- He pointed at the ledger- We all did it.
The young basterd did as instructed. minutes later, Mikojal Raddwil was the fesh member of the Brotherhood of the Tattered Banner.
- Allright. welcome aboard this jolly companionship.- Dragomir said with a smile.- Let's go See Allikha, our master-in-arms.

Allikha smiled. He put down the knife he was using onto a cutting board.
- you help yourself with the food, and I'll go get the sparring blades.- the orc dissappeared into the wagon and moments later with a pile of various training weapons in his hands.
At the same time Dragomir and Mikolaj came by, as well as John and Elena.
- a sparring session?- Dragomir asked.- This will be good for the new blood here- Drago patted the shoulder of Mikolaj.
- say, how about a friendly wager?- Drago asked- a little Mélee tourney. Winner gets... An ex tra forint from the Company's treasury. What say you fellas?- little friendly competition was a way to sway away the boredom and routine within the company.

Francis heard some noise from the wagons, but disregarded whatever was happening, he decided to get up and go for a walk, since he was having some pain from laying on the ground for too much, he went for the direction of the arms wagon, but was too concentrated on going to the well, since he was a bit thirsty, so he didn't notice anything.

Meanwhile Magnus was nearly finished in forging the greaves for John. all was left on them is to reveal the pattern, polish them up, and add strapping.
He noted a pair of antlers in the smith's shop. And then it struck him. The helmet which Magnus intented to make for John will be decorated with antlers.
- Say my man- Magnus addressed the smith- I'll give ye 25 talars for them antlers there.
The smith was intrigued.
- Make it thirty, and we have a deal- He said, and they shook hands with the dwarf. Happy with the purchase, Magnus tossed a new ingot to be heated into the forge. It'll make the scullcap for the helmet.

On the way back from the well Francis saw a little group had formed near Allikha's wagon, he thought: "Oh, that's new, I didn't see them before..."
Francis, not wanting to be unpolite, waved at them and approached them to greet them properly.
He then realized they were organizing some sparring matches...
He was quite reluctant at first, but then accepted to participate, if only to continue his new regimen of training with Allikha.
"Shall I take my armour or do you have one for me? I need to train in my armour to be more agile in it, I've read some things about that..."

I say we go without any armor this time.- Dragomir said.- besides, a little bruise never hurt anybody. even could impress a lass or few- He said with a smirk.- Well, let's not waste anymore time. the first to get hit three times, loses. Let's begin with Mikolaj and Allikha. Test the boy- He said as he patted the Orc's shoulder.
The young man felt the weight of the sparring blade. they clashed. The lad was well trained indeed, he kept blocking nearly all of the blows and even land a hit twice, but the orc managed to hit Mikolaj in the side twice, and landed one hit on the shoulder.
- That was impressive. you've been taught well Mikolaj.- Drago said.- Allright, Elena, Francis you're up next.

Elena grabbed the practice-sword. Sword, gotta use speed then She thought before rushing quickly in before Francis could react and swung it at his hips. She jumped back before he could retaliate.
"that's one" she muttered before taking a more defensive stand, getting prepared for any counter-move and silently began preparing her magic.

Francis was impressed by her speed, and by the fact that he was too slow to take a stance, he believed he could at least salute, like all fencers do before a spar...
She backstepped before Francis could hit her with a reaction.
He then decided to hit her sword and then lunge at her, kneeling to prevent her eventual recovery to counter his attack.

She barely managed to avoid the lunge but retaliated by slamming into Francis, shoulder first, or would have if he hadn't kneeled causing her to vault over him instead. He wasn't prepared for a tackle though which allowed her to take advantage of the situation better and get a hit in on his back while they recovered. A silly fencer fighting fairly. Good thing i don't... She now had control over a small quantity of water in a nearby barrel she slowly and silently moved across the ground towards them and out of Francis' sight.

Francis couldn't withstand such an affront to the art of fencing, so he took the blade with two hands and turned to search for her, then he considered that she couldn't possibly fight like a fencer, she wasn't educated as such most probably...
He took his blade and when he saw her he didn't charge, but instead waited for her to come to him, he was ready to counterattack her, and probably that would have served him well...
