@Blizzhardboy: We're a discrete country, that's how we manage to remain safe from too much western watch, and that must remain that way. But concerning the Palestine story we are indeed the most opposed to Israel. Take a look at world cup of soccer, in the Algerian tribune there's always a Palestinian flag floating.
We are aggressive (and not always violent there's a difference) because we have been invaded all our history by foreign nations who wanted our land. Through centuries this mentality eventually developped.

What if we simply made Jerusalem independent?
Splitting cities makes no sense, it's like no one learned anything from Berlin or Trieste, especially considering that the two countries hate each other to the guts. Instead, if Jerusalem was considered as a neutral territory there would be no case for both sides to continue their squabbling. This way everyone gets to make their pilgrimages and trips to the city without any problems (I'm looking at you Israelis...) and at the same time the city would be under international protection so you know, there is no suspect of prejudicial actions from one party.
By the way, everyone is concerned about Jews and Muslims there, but no one ever thinks that Christians too have a claim on the city technically, if we're assigning cities due to religious significance then give a slice of Constantinople back to us, a slice of Antioch and Alexandria too, while we're at it, let's not forget Nazareth and Bethlehem of course, you know what, give us a slice of Palestine, it was the cradle of Christianity after all. No one would really advocate for that now would they?
Or you know, make Jerusalem exclusively Christian again, Deus Vult.

@sal a) Countries should not impose their will on other sovereign countries without absolutely dire reasons. Yeah UN and other institutions are totally toothless, I agree, but it is far better than that they start dictating lands on who they belong to (ironically what they did with Israel and which lead to this mess).
b) Granted keeping a promise is a generally a good thing. But if a dude promises to punch someone in the face after class, but he comes to his senses and realizes it doesn't accomplish anything before doing it, I have far more respect for him than just following through a stupid promise. Yes politically it is good for him, his base loves this. But to escalate tensions in the Middle East and maybe even cost lives for political points? Dear lord if Obama/Hillary did that, you would be demanding his head.
Oh Ben Shapiro yeah he isn't a stupid dude, but then again isn't he Jewish?  Might explain his stance on this matter.

Not technically a NATO country no lol... Sweden even has a place at the highest table despite nominally not being a member. Sweden is a 'neutral' country in the same way China 'technically' still has a socialist economy lol.
With all the right-of-centre-parties there would be a parliamentary majority for formally joining but SD wants to take it to a referendum first... when beautiful, wondrous Miss Bieler finally takes over... I'm sure they're gonna have the wisdom to rethink that.

Its about time someone did that , and i read some countrys fallow suit. Such an ancient city's name having its variants in many languages is natural, I go with Jerusalem when speaking in English (is that also the Hebrew version?) but it's Kudüs in Turkish, the Jerus-Kudüs part is probably the same and it's not hard to see Al Qud's Qud and KUDüs are also the same. It's not much different than Venezia/Venedik/Venice etc.

What if you were to take the mosque, the rock, and the entire hill of dirt there and move it x kilometers east into palestine? Israel had the location, Muslims had the stuff.
