n00b tournament(s)
Ok, at Asmodean's suggestion i've brought this thread to the library.
Recently an all n00b online tournament aroused from the library.Folcks listened and debated until an agreement was reached.
There will be a no-rule "king of the n00bs" tournament. The participants will be members with wery few online experience AKA noobs.All those fitting the profile and interested submit replies in this thread.
On the other hand, at the initiative of a well known and respected member of this community we'll start a 2 vs 2 tournament called " The mighty alliance "(like it, jebus?) where a team will be formed by an experienced memberAKA vet and a newbie.The meaning of this tournament is for us n00bs to "get an inside view" of the tactics used by skilled players online+it will be fun for vets..
Also all those interested by this tournament, "The mighty alliance" please submit replies in this thread.
Note to all vets
Please don't be shy to join in, you'll receive candies from Conn's shop, and free beers in the tavern(newbies treat)+our longlasting gratitude

Love the title but I'm not sure how mighty an alliance between a noob and a vet could be.... LOL
Ok well since I was part of the original discussion... make this my official reply to joinning the "king of the noobs" tourney!!!
(small question.. in your post you mentioned vets... was that for this tourney or the 2 on 2??)

If Tig doesn't mind....
I'll be starting a new thread with the details to "mighty alliance" and will recruit potential candidates at that time...
It'll be easier to keep track of both tourney's if they're seperate...

We'll set a deadline for joining the tournament(s) and given the number of participants we'll figure out the best way.
Don't be mad at my hasty decision of starting this thread, i know it was your original concept and i'm counting on you to get this whole thing rolling! You said in an early post that you'll talk to versuvius about this, have you done it already?
Please share any new info... and once again forgive me if i acted hasty

For the fact, this tourney is for fun and not for players statistics, we will have no problem to save a game at any point and finish it later on..

I can set it up no problemo, just let me know who is in and what you need exactly and I'll get to it
Info you'd likely need is:
A contact person and their email.
What maps you want to play on so we can make that available for download.
What tourney format (bracketed I'd think is easiest)
Also try to get the email of everyone playing so that they can set up games over email if IM here fails

I'd like to one part of this tournament... I just need to know a bit more about when might the games be played and whatnot, because there are only certain times that I'll be able to access the net to play. I'm still a little confused about it everything, but...

Well, let's see if I can clear things up
There will be a delay for playing the games, one short enough to keep things going, but long enough to give us a chance to play and not rush it.
I will set up a web page with the help of pandora and I will wait to see how many players we get.
If you have any questions, ask away.
