The ending was strange: Hulk is fighting his father, when a huge bubble (with pictures) comes up. What was that all about?!

i guess someone from backstage threw a cigar to lake, which was full of gasoline

Either that, or they smoked funny cigars during the filming.

Quote:
if they make a sequal to that movie, i'd say it should be about the Gray Hulk .

What was it about?

Quote:
also, for Spider-Man 3, that is still in production, should've been about Venom, but instead i heard it's gonna be about Spider-Man vs Sandman. i mean come on, ok sandman is a great character, no doubt, but i'd say Venom would be much more interesting for audience, right?

Right. Venom is waaay cooler, and the Black Costume Saga would be a great movie. I thought Lizard was the next...? Anyway, Sandman sucks. I remember an old issue when Sandman and Hydro mixed up and created this huge Mud Creature LOOOL

By the way, k1ng, you haven't voted for your fav Supes...?

next Spider-Man movie is gonna include Lizard? really? if that is true, nice . at least it's better than Sandman . can you imagine if they would base it on the story 'Torment' created by Todd McFarlane, back in 1990. the movie would get a R-rate for that, and all the kids would cry .

by the way what is that 'fav Supes..', i didn't see any voting :/.

WHAT poll?! THIS poll!

What is the best Supes ever?

* the original from the comic books (1 vote)

* the new whatshisname guy

* the Indian Superman (look at those EYES! LOL)

* Chris Reeve (RIP) (1 vote)

I am not sure about Lizard thing... It may be just a rumor. I must google later today.

As for Slaine... It was OK, but not worth my money. It is a classic fantasy story, with a bit of humor and some weird Bisley stuff as usual. Think Lobo, but painted.

Slaine is one old celtic warrior, and he is fighting with forces from Roman Empire which they are led by som evil demon. The demons wants to kill Slaine because he killed a lot from them.
Slaine can change during fight into a berserk monster
and then he is killing people like when someone is cutting the grass.
I think its a good comic book. And what about Predator the comic book, did u got some or not?Predator is cool. Some stories were in CREW.
I think it will be
cool that Wolverine will be movie.

well, my favorite serie is 'Star Wars : Tales of the Jedi', it's not really related to movies because it takes far long ago, when the Sith was a unknown race on a abonded planet called Korriban, which was not discovered back then.

One thousand. It is very few compared to some true collectors I know! However, I don't buy every issue, but keep only the stuff I really like; thus I have books from the USA, France, Italy, Argentina etc.

LOOOOOL

I think everybody in ex-Yugoslavia knows about Zagor! More than any other hero, he was the the idol of every boy here - the ultimate alpha male, with his hatchet as a powerful phallus symbol! Actually, I am surprised his homosexuality didn't emancipate the local gay population.

The comic was very popular in Italy, Turkey and Yugoslavia decades ago. How did you find out about this book?!

For those who haven't heard of Zagor, he is a kind of Tarzan living in XIX century America, fighting Indians, bank robbers and giant robots. He also has a peculiar fashion style, as seen in the picture k1ng posted.

My favorite issues featured the mad scientist named Hellingen. He allied himself with the aliens (well, I told ya this ain't a regular western comic ) and got killed in the end. However, like all great archfoes, he keeps getting back! LOL

Yeah, Zagor was originally printed in black-and-white, but remember that you got 95 pages (compared to the average 22 in American full color books). The episode you mentioned was probably "The Rainbow Bridge", when Zagor got a chance to talk to the ghost of his father and ask him about his crimes.

"Zagor" must have been one of the first comics I have ever read. Ah, the blissful days of the yesteryar! I would spend weekends at the granny's in the country, and her neighbour had a pile of those books, including the other one you asked about...

I never really enjoyed "Mister No" because it was simply way too realistic for a kid like me - the main character got beaten every issue, plus there were no aliens either...

Here's my attempt at drawing superheroes - it's a page of Aquaman, one of DC boks. I got a "polite rejection letter" from the publisher and decided that superheroes are not for me. LOL It looks better in color, though.

I still draw comics, but my work is mostly underground stuff.

looking good Vlaad . the trouble i have when i try to draw is the small objects at the background, it's just a pain to make them look like the way you want them to look like.

ya'now, i wasn't actually expecting to find someone who knew about Zagor. when i hear about Italian comic, it always reminds me of that hero.

here's another favorite character of mine from westren comics

the lonesome cowboy Lucky Luke, was drawn by Belgian Morris (Maurice the Bevere, 1923-2001) while the scripts of the earlier (but not the earlieast) books were written by Frenchman René Goscinny (1926-1977).

i don't exactly know for sure how many comic books do i have. you see, we've been moving from one place to another for a long time, so i didn't have a chance to keep all my comic books together, pity. i only have a few favorite issues of USA comics such as Spider-Man, Spawn, Star Wars, X-Men, etc. still i read, or look at, some French comics here, at public library. my French is not good, though.

Lobo is a cool character from DC, too bad he's not on Justice League . i remember a story, that Superman accidently travels back to past after a deadly fight. all heroes from JLA thinks that he's dead, during that time somehow Lobo takes over the lead :/ . it's been also showed on JLA's cartoon on TV.

well, only Japanase comic i used to read was DBZ, indeed. i didn't like the first serie, it was too childish, though Z serie is not that mature neither . however i was interested in drawings more than the story. new Japanase comics reminds me of DBZ and other kind of robot based comics, i'm not saying that they all alike, there are some new good ones too. yet, i think drawings of Akira Toriyama is the best .

i also wanted to speak about latest issues of Spider-Man Vol.1, about return of true Green Goblin. interesting issues they were, Spider-Man gets in four different costumes to clear his bounty on his head, Green Goblin had a different costume, Marry Jane was pregnant, Aunt May was missing, etc. so many good stuff, sadly i couldn't get a chance to read very last issue of the entire Vol.1, can anyone tell me what happens in that issue? here's the cover,

In what way did it inspire you?

Like k1ng wrote, there are DB and DBZ comics in the States. In addition, there are numerous Manga titles like that one. I am not sure how many are published in English, though.

Speaking of which... Have you ever seen an original Japanese comic book? I ask because once I browsed one, but was completely confused. Then the shopkeeper explained that it reads from back to front (the other way round)!

Quote:
And one question, did you read or do you own some comic books about vampires and that kind of stuff?

Horror books were big in the 1970s... Marvel produced some interesting stuff, like Dracula. However, Marvel's rendition of the prince of darkness was somewhat superheroish - the count flew around, fought with his fists and had other "powers", such as super-strenght, vaporize and summon wolves. I agree all that is part of the vampire myth, but it just didn't feel right. For example, I remember a Frankenstein vs Dracula story (although the artwork by John Buscema was gorgeous).

There were other great tales, though (don't ask me for titles ), where Dracula was truly scary. My all-time favorite story was from the early years of his reign. Dracula felt lonely and kept a diary; however, a man sneaked into his castle during a day and stole it! Of course, he paid with his life, but the diary was lost... Eventually, Mr Stocker got it - and wrote his famous book about Vlaad Tepes. So, the comic says Dracula really exists!

The best horror comics I have are old black-and-white Blade issues, when the "Daywalker" fights for the life of his beloved wife. Much more dramatic than the new action movies starring W. Snipes.

I recall other strange titles, like Swamp Thing, Man-Thing, Morbius, Zombie etc.

EC comics used to publish creepy stories in their anthology books (such as "Tales from the Crypt"). It was 50 years ago, but they are being reprinted now.

As you can see, I am familiar mostly with some very old comics. I am NOT that old, though!

What about you - do you know some good scary comics? I could do a quick google search, but I'd prefer your personal recommendations.

Thanks... I don't know why (I guess it was the anatomy ). Anyway, superheroes are not my cup of tea (ooo, this sounded like "sour grapes" ).

I have many different styles... I even enjoy sketching short strips like this one (hey, Lord Woock, dig this ):

Quote:

Tarzan! Another ultimate alpha male among my childhood idols! I wonder how I turned out to be such a wussy, though?!

Do you remember some stories?

Oh, and k1ng - another excellent post! Nothing to add there... except for the fact that I LUV Lucky Luke, but still prefer Asterix. Not the horrible movies, of course!
