It was a good game.. Spezza's goal was spectacular,
but the highlight of the night goes to the guy who
kicked a field-goal from the 50 yd. line for a
million $.

Ouch

Hey Pan, you still alive after that 8-0 beating?

hehehehe...

I know I'll get it back some day, but WHAM!

So... are you still a Leafs fan? I'd really start thinking about switching teams with a score like that.

hehehehhe....

All along the game I was thinking, damn, them Sens are playin' darn good!

So much for Belfour, eh?

actually I'd have a hard time supporting such a whinny team and a whinny coach!!

and I love watching teams finally say to TO "hey! your reign of cheap shot hockey is over!! it's pay back!!"

maybe if they got rid of quinn (and all their goons)
and started playing respectable hockey and actually acted like pro's, I might one day, maybe, but not likely, have a shred of respect for them.   maybe.

"what's the opposite of shame?"
"pride?"
"no not THAT far from shame"
"less shame?"
"yeah..."

EDIT:
well mtl beat another strong team last night...
TIED for first baby!

Anyone know of the Minnesota Wild?   That's who I'm for this year.  They're finally starting to once again use Manny Fernandez, and he's brought his skill back.  They were a bit sloppy in the beginning but they're starting to bring it back up. >.< we lost a bunch of players over the lock out though...that completely sucked.

of course... if you follow the nhl, you pretty much know all the teams (unless you're american and you only refer to the candian teams as :"dat der team from up north" )

well this year is quite entertainning none the less...
it's great to see the faster more talented teams doing well instead of the bigger "goonier" clutch and grab teams (aka maple leafs) win games through cheap tactics!!

But MAN ALIVE last night's habs game was SHIZZAT!
horrible reffing (or great reffing and I missed it)
but im just glad we (habs fans) came out with the Win!!

Actually I can't think of any teams that are from "up north"... maybe East or West... a little North perhaps.

If you are Canadian and you play professional hockey, generally, you come to America to play.  BTW, when will the Ottawa Senators become the San Antonio Senators? Go Nordiques  er.. I mean Avalance

only if millions of Canadian dollars are not enough for you and you want "american" millions...
(personally I'd settle for the canadian mulla, the price diff is to pay for the piece of mind of not living in the US!!)

I'd like to see the league go back to the old format where you HAD to play for your local team.. all the quebec players would stay in MTL...  Ontario players could play for TO or Ottawa...  then we'd see how strong your little american teams would really be! hmm.. wonder what the scouts are like down in columbus.

so uh...Stevie Y is retiring eh??

Too bad the Great One and Lemieux don't share your feelings about living here

I guess when the "old format" comes back, you can celebrate for the chance at good ol' stanley.... until then, bow down to the little Red Wings

well at least Gretzky was trying to bring his love for hockey to the states...waste of time.

Lemieux had threatened to bring the penguins to Winnipeg...

it's whinny babies like Hull, that throw a fit cuz they didn't pick him for team Canada his first year, and play for the US for the rest of his life... good riddance .

So your saying that he prefers to waste his time in the States than come back to Canada?

So what your saying is, Lemieux sees moving from Pittsburgh to Winnipeg as a threat?

You are in denial... this is a fine example of Canadians joining the ranks of the Americans

YAWN!!! Last year?  They say that every year.  Although I do see a decline in their play... we do have a loss... so you do have a point there

wow with that kind of american cockyness,
Im surprised you're not in the military!!

so here are my answers...

1) no... but gretzky prolly figured he could employ many more canadian players by expanding to the states!
(we only have so many big cities you know)

2) yes.  a threat to the residents of Pittsburg (hey the word "pit" is in there... you know like armpit??)

3)  who says what every year?  Yzerman?? just goes to show you that 20 years in the US has made him overdramatic like everything else down there!!

(can't believe I invited you to my city...   )

Expanding or moving?  I thought Phoenix was the former Winnipeg Jets  Did Winnipeg create another team after the move? We could "expand" more by creating the Houston Maple Leafs or the New Orleans Canucks

Makes sense now.  I thought you meant a threat to the players... like "oh no!!! We have to move back to Canada?!?  I promise I will take a pay cut... don't move me please"

Quote:

No no no... do you think Yzerman would say "this is the last year for the Red Wings, then it is all down hill"?? The "rest" would be the jealous fans of other teams around the league  Don't worry I use the same tactic in football... "This is the last year the Lions will suck"... been saying that since... since I knew the Lions existed

(can't believe I invited you to my city...

Sigh   Please don't hate me because the Red Wings dominate.

Perhaps you should go back and ready your previous posts..
then mayhaps you could go back and edit your last posts so it even refers to what we've been talking about!

you see, canadian hockey fans bashing american ones (especially from Detroit) is an easy win for even a noob like me!

once you go back and read over your posts, you'll see that even a noob like you can learn to follow a discussion and make logical posts as opposed to all that jargon you've learnt to spew!

aah... you know you're good when you can make fun of one, and poke fun at another all in the same post!

it's just lucky for you that your team is one that I've always respected and with an Ottawa native for your captain, I think that speaks loud enough for me!

and i guess, if the US goes under, I'd let you come over... for a cost.

You would just have to understand my situation as a Detroit fan.  The Red Wings are the only team I can brag about and hang my hat on seeing as the Lions (Football) and Tigers (Baseball) suck and I don't care much for Basketball (Pistons). Once they go down hill, I am left with nothing

ever notice that when an Ottawa fan talks to a TO fan, the discussion goes as follows:

OT fan: Man, Ottawa rocks this year, we've been doing really well!

TO fan: Well, wait till we get to the playoffs before jumping to conclusions

OT fan: 8-0 win for Ottawa, god Belfour sucks!

TO fan: you'd better hope TO doesn't make the playoffs or OT will be out!

OT fan: With a new GM and a new coach, OT is doing really good!

TO fan: Playoffs play not good, the Sens do.

OT fan: OT has so many good and productive players! Alfredson, Heatly, Havlat... even chris Neil!

TO fan: Sens + TO in playoffs = bad

OT fan: Hashek is awsome, man we have a great goalie!

TO fan: Playoffs...

Do you see a patern? Good it's getting repetitive...
