No one in their right mind would prefer to freeze their arse off in Canada when they could spend the winter in Hawaii and South Florida. Alaska has everything Canada has, and the rest of the States have eveything that Canada is missing.
YAWN!!! Last year? They say that every year. Although I do see a decline in their play... we do have a loss... so you do have a point there
As much as I hate the Wings, I have to admit they're a legitimate Cup contender and potential dynasty. Datsyuk (is that how you spell his name?) and Zetterberg will be cornerstones for years to come and Legace is rock-solid in goal. Their scoring depth and talent are unmatched...watch out for the Preds though. They play great defense, have an elite goaltender in Vokoun, and have finally figured out how to score goals.

All Canada has to offer is hockey, hunting, and skiing. I can find those in the US. If it weren't for those, it would be nothing but a socialist wasteland. If the USA's best athletes all played hockey, we would be as good as, if not better than Canada. Let's see how the CFL's best team does against the Super Bowl champion, US soccer, against Canadian soccer, US baseball, against Canadian baseball, etc. etc. ... we'll see what happens, the Preds and the Kings look like they can take the Wings, as does Vancouver if it finds a real goaltender.

well considering the cfl's is for older nfl players that cant cut it anymore, yeah I'd have to agree...
but remember that canadian quarterback that went to the nfl and cleaned up?? you know, Flutie?? was prolly the best in the league...
ok if you're gonna talk about a girly sport like baseball... you remember when the TORONTO BLue Jays won 4 years straght?? remember?? TO???
oh and by the way, Vancouver?? well that's in Canada.

oh and I forgot to mention...
you know that even they hold every so many years...
where all the countries submit their best of a particular sport, to compete against the other countries' best?? you know the olympics?? well guess what? we clean up there too!
oh and the states have like what, 100 times our population? and they still can't beat us!
(most likely cuz they haven't mastered how to make one small, but ever so crucial thing... ICE.

I don't see how putting down Canada is "Hockey talk" Its likely best not to make insults that don't relate to the topic, people will likely respond better to your opinions.
As for hockey... I'm just so tired already of seeing power plays and all the wimpy play.
Remember the days when they played 5 on 5, and guys actually finished their checks?

Please. Montana, Elway, and Marino were all much better than Flutie ever was. How many Super Bowls or big playoff games did Flutie win? Montana won four Super Bowls, Elway won 2, and if the Dolphins had ever had any kind of running game during Marino's career, he would have won his share too. Those 3 are first-ballot Hall of Famers. Flutie probably won't even be considered for the Hall of Fame.

I'd say that Ottawa is a legit contender this year, and I'm still not ready to count out the Flames either.

Nah, Montreal and Ottawa are the class of Canada, but Calgary is asking an awful lot of Iginla and Kiprusoff and so far, Kiprusoff hasn't delivered. Calgary needs someone supplement Iginla, who in my mind is the best player in the NHL. The HABS have shot, but Theodore needs to play better than he has and I'm sure he will.
Ottawa should be able to go deep into the playoffs now that they have an elite goaltender. Btw, Philly and the Rangers both look capable of stopping the HABS and the Sens. New York finally found some1 to replace Richter and Philly is solid at every position. Any one of those four teams, and maybe even Carolina (Ward and Staal are incredible young talents) could win the East... Out of curiosity, what do the yellow and red stars represent?

Like that time Theo gave up a 3 goal lead and then they went right down in flames? nahhh, that's not choking
Canadians have some talent, but I don't think its enough - right now I don't like Calgary's odds either, but they can be a slow startin' team - I'd say Ottawa (bleh) is the best shot.

let's see... one year made it to the second round and lost. and then 2 years ago, we made it to the second round and lost to the stanley cup champs! hmmm, your idea of chokin' differs from mine.
