The Humiliating Defeat Thread
Are you a loser? Do you make mistakes that can cost you games or your pitiful remainders of self-esteem? Do you manage to suicide against a pack of peasants? Does the AI beat you? On easy..?
You have come to the right place!
Because I will personally make sure that your heroic exploits will be remembered (and been made fun) by all!
Enter the Humiliating Defeat Thread!
I realize that it may seem a bit degrading at first glance but remember that it takes great dedication to devote yourself to the art of losing and even greater skill to eventually master it. Some people are simply better at losing than others and it is a skill that must be passed on.
As Ceres says: 'Winning is boring, everybody likes it.'
On the other hand losing in a hilarious way will cause some good laughs for both players and you know that laughing 'signals acceptance and positive interactions with others', helps to protect the heart and brings out positive energy. Ergo, it improves your social life as well as protect your health.
BUT it also boosts your friend's confidence! There you have it,
losing is good.
Now you have the choice to teach people how to lose in appropriate fashion and help generate a wave of euphoria throughout the community so it can become a better place Winning does not make you cool, it only makes you a jerk! An arrogant one at that. Loss teaches experience and selflessness that is infinitely more important
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How to
-Be creative, there are so many ways to lose. Pick the funniest one by either sabotaging yourself or helping the opponent in either a simple or complex set of plans.
-Be unpredictable. A player will expect you to kill his phoenix, use harm touch on sprites. Because you can
-Be suicidal. If you have one turn before your opponent kills you suicide with an armageddon.
-Be you, lose.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There is also the separate case where you lose out of bad luck. Be sure to post your findings on such situations because they can help you lose in more creative ways next tine.
I will give one example.
Yesterday I attacked lots of seraphs with 7 titans. First stack attacks me and 2 die in the retaliation. Next two stacks took me out with divine vengeance before I could understand what happened
Stupid? Yes. Fun? Immensely. Your turn!
Replays appreciated too.

Ooh, ooh, I just did one of these.
I tried out a might wizard on normal* difficulty. No magic skills, all might. No problem I thought as I easily conquered the enemy knight castle defeating a level 14 knight with my level 15 razzak.
Then Klaus showed up level 18 with a real army and crushed me.
*note: modified to build every day and cast 5th level spells-but still a humiliating loss

Last game I had 6 titans with mini artifact on my main and the secondary gave me 30+ storm titans. Visited hill fort just before attacking my opponent only to find out that I could not retrain because it's prohibited in this map. I gallop ahead, attack him and get thrashed.
Later I realize that the mini artie was on my 6 and not 30+ titans
As a sidenote retribution, empathy and mass haste with the opponent having superior initiative/attack/luck mini arties is crazy Never saw that coming.

I tend to forget to properly use the tactics phase of the battle... I can't recall how often I forget to cover my ranged attackers or how often I've managed to make such a formation that an important melee stack got completely stuck between other troops and terrain obstacles so it took several turns of freeing it up and taking far more losses than necessary as a result.
I need to learn to pay more attention when I'm playing

If a defeat is embarrassing enough I don't mind but don't expect us to laugh at you if it's not your own The point of the thread is to ridicule yourself beyond any semblance of reason.
As for sending your opponent resources and such that is no fun either. The point is to have a perfect game and throw it all away due to stupidity or amusement. Or jinx.

I was playing vs sylvan with inferno. The enemy had around 500-600 war dancers with battle frenzy, nature's wrath and necklace. The dancers where covered from all sides(my 10 devils, 23 pit spawns, all 90 succubi, around 120 firehounds and 2 imps. Then with all my stupidity I attacked the dancers with the imps and they had lucky retaliation killed all hounds, all succubi and all devils

Ah, so that was the point! XD
Ok. I had it quite recently when II let my army to be halved by Emeralds...
I had about 100 Marauders, 70 Warmongers, 2 Cyclops and about 300 Witch Doctors...
I had 3 slots free but there was written that Threat Level is low and there was only a pack of them so I started fight without even tactic placement...
There was about 15 Emeralds...
On the first turn (I played Haggash, so Centauyrs acted first) i didn't even manage to slain one of dragons, but I was quite confident, becasue my warmongers were standing before centaurs:
"They will taunt them" I thought and so they did, but poison breathe reched centaurs also...
"Shiiiiit!
Ok 10 warms, 10 centaurs, not to great looses..."
Another turn...
I could kill the stack which attacked me first, with my marauders, but I wanted to be smart and I thought:
"Geez there is only a one dragon! It is better that he attack my warms and centaurs and not let another stack (5-5) to come here!". He was placed in the middle of 8 square. I was really pleased that I was so far-seeing and let this draco live attacking the next stack.
But when the dragon could move, he attacked my goblins and opened 8 tiles for his comrades...
"Whatta?! O_O"
One of them attacked- 10 warms, 10 centaurs... "Yay will live!"
Then another- 20 warms, 23 centaurs- "Oh snow! I forgot about the rage!"
Finally I managed to kill those dragons witch cyclops, who for some time were blocked by the wall of mushrooms, which I could use for my advantage and go from this fight with simply no looses...
After the fight there left:
36 warms
28 centaurs
2 cyclops
98 gobos
Another funny battle:
Early creeping. Hero- Garuna. Fighting with Shieldguards.
Having my all gobos with me- four of them guarding centaurs, the rest as free stack, is a back-up for supporting force- Warriors (as you know Garuna has less starting dudes than for example Telsek or Haggash).
Ok. Here they come...
One shot- two dead.
Another one- three dead...
"I need to rush my gobos!" I thoght and so I did. I attacked the closest stack with one of my centaur's guard.
"Ha ha! I ate his retailation!"
But...
"Wha?! I can't even reach him!"
Anyway, I managed to fill the gap and kill the nasty shieldguard with my warriors (after sacrifiecing another gobo XD). I got bonus to attack from Blooddrinker and was really happy. No looses, without that two gobos.
"Will do"
Another shieldguard attacked the supporting gobos. They were badly injured.
Again I sacrifieced one gobo and attacked Shieldguard with my Warriors. Unlucky strike...
"O_O O_O O_O"
Shieldgurds attacked my gobos again and...
Da da dam! Treachery!
Gobos attacked my centaurs, ate their RP, and then shieldguards ( who had good morale) killed 10 of them with lucky strike O_O
I became really angry and shot the game down XD...

I got rushed when i was fortress lately, and took on a hopeless battle against 96 archangels with fortress army of 156 harpooners, 15 thanes and 300 shieldguards, the battle was so so hopeless i wondered why i took it on in the first place

randomized duel ebba vs razzak.
I had ebba, my friend had razzak. I won, but I got totally owned at the beginning of the fight because I didn't know how to use runes (it was my 1st time playing with a dwarf) and lost all the bears without killing many opponents. fortunately magma dragons + runes were totally amazing.
another duel I lost against my friend, and I was trying to beat his super-hero wyngaal with uber powerful imbued ballista and insanely quick units (all of his arties either increased his initiative or lowered mine) fortunately he didn't have many units. my hero was galib, I made him an extremly quick caster with mass plague.
finally my friend won with a few treants remaining, not only I ignored the magic mirror doesn't work against imbued arrows, but also I thought I had poisonned the treant, but actually I didn't...
well, I could also speak about a cool loss of my friend.
it was another randomized duel, I got galib, and my friend got shak'karukat, the arena was that narrow bridge. I managed to block his whole army with my stack of gargoyle. his poisonous wyvern flew above them but then got crushed by titans and rakshasa, then I freed up my rakshasa and send them in the enemy lines with arcane armor and dash.his whole army was still blocked (his other wyverns got owned by my shooters and my hive spells) in overall an easy win for me.

Drunk_Lord and Lesij take the lead, they are natural I hate the situation where you enter a battle and it is hopeless from the beginning.
Now I will let your eyes feast upon my own incompetence!
Old game on battle for honor, Ylthin with hunters, druids and several single sprites covering them try to take down the archdevil guardians. Out of bad calculation my sprites fall leaving an opening to the hunters. There is one tile gap between them and 5 devils while there is a big devil stack near that is about to play. The druids target the small stack hoping to kill 2, I get luck and all 5 die
Next turn the big stack attacks the hunters.
Somehow I still won that fight but it still felt like a bad loss. Casualties: 50 hunters.
