Then Anwen will help u in different way, to kill the enemy faster, thus giving him less time to cast.

what about the humiliating defeat of a friend? (ok, I know it isn't exactly what you expected, but I think this one was funny)
I was trying my new duel hero. my friend had quite a big stack of orcs with shields and swords remaining and I had about 5 dragons and 15 invisible shadow ladies. I attacked with both stacks of shadow ladies, and the second one casted rage. I was like "oh snow" but then I realised I had plenty of time before the orcs attacks, so I only left a stack of shadow ladies near them, and ordered the other stack to flee, then I casted 2 firewalls between the orcs and my ladies.
guess what happened next?

Hi!
This is not exectly what should be posted here, because I will write about my great succes. Anyway I humiliated my opponent.
It was competition between Sylvan and Academy. I leaded Sylvan side. After starting a battle I realized that my opponent had good army, but he located his troops totally wrong (I could reach almost all his troops with my meele combatants...).
It funny was because - from the beginnign of the battle - he made only one move - hero - cast phenix. That was all he did. I just killed stacks, which were close to beginning ot ATB bar. I lost 11 winddancers...Titans retalitated.
SYLVAN + MASS HASTE + MASS SLOW = INVINCIBLE POWER

Not so long time ago I played with quite unexperienced player (he was good in RTS strategies but novice in Heroes) so I completely underestimated him.
I went with my main army (over 400 skeleton archers, ~200 zombies, ~70 ghosts and 60 vampires, hero lvl 16, and one powerful artifact reducing spell cost by half) passing by his pitiful scouts to castle he has just conquered. This castle was not his main and wasn't even fortificated so I was self-confident I didn't even look who defends it (shame on me!). I thought there are some weak or less numbered creatures so before the battle, in tactics mode, i picked up to battle ONLY my 60 vamipires. I wanted to preserve the rest of my army for the final battle. What i saw was his main hero lvl 16 with his main army (sic!). So even raise of dead casting all the time didn't help me. I was such a lame to rush this castle without even see who guards it!
With my all army, I know I would have won this battle. But i lost

yesterday i decided to go for a necro single against four random AI and i didn't check at that time but they cooperated with each other. and in week five or so they came from four different ways so i spent my last movement points and resources on going back to my castle and build a citadel. the first one who attacked me i won with ease but the second one took out half my army before i killed him. the third one tok out the rest of my army but one bone dragon. the fourth one killed me instantly.

Played dungeon in lategame yesterday . I was just "testing" how much can the AI's stupidity go - played vs 5 of them. they come and attack me. Beating the first 2 without even sweating. The others two were sh*t. The fifth would've crush me but he decided to flee(that's AI after all, enters combat casts eldrich arrow and flee  ). So I headed towards one of the enemy towns. The hero there was a 18 Zoltan with reasonable SPP. So I summoned the phoenix and just Zoltan puppeted it and finished me off  (btw I could have got vampirism, I was just lazy enough not two go to the necro town which one of my secondaries captured)

it reminds me of a siege in heroes 3, a barbarian attacked my castle with an average army (something like 25 cyclops, 10 ancient behemoths and a few other things)
I had like a thousands of skeletons warriors, hundreds of zombis and wraiths and scores of powerlichs, but my hero was level 1 or 2 and he was something like level 15. (and he had yog, so his cyclops were as strong as nagas. but he was still easy to beat)
the only problem is I decided to test on this map, a script to make the ballista decent. and his ballista was definitely more than very decent since every shot dealt me 7000 damages and killed me a stack.
needless to say I could do nothing, his cyclops resisted enough to let his ballista kill me.
oh and I forgot to say his ballista was incredibly hard to destroy too, it was actually 10 ballistas I think, and I was dead before I could destroy them all.

This definitely isn't the right place to say, but I defeated a friend in H3 rushing with a barbarian specilist in balista(don't remember the name, I haven't played H3 for aeons). And I had many balistas(commander) and earth magic-slow. Very nice for rushing. My enemy thought I was easy prey and entered combat with walkers

One of the most stupid things I ever did during battle was in h2. I had a large bunch of sprites (+ 200), but misclicked and the flew right into the arms of some genies, which split the stack, afterwhich 25 paladins popped up and slayed all of them. I only had circa 5 Greater Druids and 2 unicorns left vs 5 Genies, 25 Crusaders and 10 Rangers. Ouch !!!
This was my last hero and she (she was a Sorceress) didn't have any town left, so I got screwed. AGAIN !!!!

ok i got a new one.
yesterday i played with haven taking the all known overpowered klaus. in month two i attacked a demon called grok with an almost twice as big army as his. and his heroes first move was an overpowered meteor shower. most of my archers gone and i went really pissed of and threw my paladins in there. and killed his sucubuses. the next turn his pit lords use vulnerability. then his archdevils attack my paladins. boom most gone. relitates and killes some archdevils. then his firehounds attack. boom the rest gone. and in the thick of battle we was having a close tie with me in the lead and his vermins have stolen all my mana and givn it to his pit lords. they use meteor shower gets my vindicators. the remaining ones of them gone for ever. my only defense now are some seraphs with his mana left. my enemy has only his pit lords left. and then my brother calls me downstairs and needs help with a thing one www.Heroescommunity.com. and then i remember this thread and i dont use my divine vengeance and instead use my wait option. the next turn his hero attacks and who strangely has much mana left. he uses ressurection (how the h*ll did he get that?) on his archdevils they move in and attacks my angels. only five left my heroes turn and i know that the next turn i gona lose. i panic and accidently presses the wait command. and his pit lords move in and attack...

Haha LOL! Btw Klaus is not overpowered, serves you right for trying to win with heroes that you think are imbalanced It has been some time since I last expected my opponent to be predictable about his magic. Take sylvan for instance, I have faced it with light, destructive and dark/summoning all very effective. Light is not the exclusive property of good factions, most maps have witch huts and arcane libraries now.

Yeah, I've got an example of that as well, I once attacked a Necropolis with a big stack of Berserkers... At some time both the gate and some wall sections were breached so I decided to use Rune of Charge and Berserker rage... only to the fools take the shortest route to their target and getting stuck in the moat in the process, so they didn't get to attack. Immediately after that a bunch of Vampire Princes had a lucky attack against my Berserkers, killing about 90% of them because they now had 0 defense I still won the battle as the Berserkers fortunately weren´t the only creatures I had but it was still incredibly stupid

Last time I tried berserk in a siege was in HoF and they attacked MY units It was funny to learn that berserkers will not attack behind walls even if the gate was open
