Mod comes as executable, click on it and choose Heroes folder. Any manual install could go wrong unless you are familiar with how Era works. I see no reason autosaving would not work, never experienced that.

Ahh... yes you are right now everything works fine...
P.S : I HAVE TO WIN THE FIRST BATTLE WITHOUT LOOSING A SINGLE ARCH-DEVIL?? Because every time the prison guard catches up on me when I board the ship(even with expert logistics) and the Quest Guard doesn't give me the artifact unless I have 4 devils...
So... I guess that artifact is something that will help me escape the prison right? But really ? Without loosing a single one?? Salamandre you sadist
Ok I try to move around until I can get all the swordsmen with a single meteor shower. Then I cast a shield on my devil and a magic arrow. Finally I move around so until one of them gets into such a position ,that I can attack him without getting attacked by the other 3 stacks.
But even with all these I loose one Arch-devil!
What If I cast slow , then use the wait mechanism in order to attack them twice in a row? With a slow I can afford the wait , they will take more than one turn to reach me anyway , and then I get to play twice , arch-devils don't get retaliated --> I win!!!
Mr.Salamandre I am currently doing my MSc in Game Design and if that's the solution I salute you. You took some of the game's battle mechanics and essentially created a new puzzle , chess-like mini-game.Congratulations this is very elegant work, you make want to see even more what's on the rest of the map

No puzzle sorry. Just slow-wait, basically I put this battle to stop newbies from further frustration and save my time from answering common game play questions.

I think you are selling yourself short. Essentially it is a mini-game on its own.
Setting : 4 Swordsmen stacks 15 units each , Movement 6
Map size : 15 x 11
Victory Condition : Eliminate all Swordsmen , without loosing a single arch devil.
Loose Condition : Loose the battle or Win the battle with casualties.
If you see it like this is pretty simple. And impossible. So we have to use another mechanism:
Rules :
-You may "wait" during your turn and play last.
-You can withstand one hit from one stack without loosing any arch devils.
-You may cast slow 4 times.
-Arch devils do not receive retaliation attacks.
What is the wait mechanism? Essentially if you play last on purpose , given that on the next turn you will play first , you play twice in a row. Add that to the fact , that Arch devils don't receive any counter attack and you now have a combo!
Wait --> Attack --> Go Back --> Wait
Now your main concern is this. Since you are "waiting" your turn this means that the opponent will also play twice before you play. So given that the swordsmen move 6 tiles that means that they can traverse 6 + 6 = 12 tiles before you will be able to play again and execute the combo. Notice that the map is 15 tiles width. That means that if you manage to bring them on the 3 farthest left or right rows you win.
The orange dots are the "safe" squares you want them there. If you manage to get all the swordsmen there you win. Now this can be a little tricky if there are 3-4 stacks.
For example here I managed to bring 3 of them in the "Safe" zone the fourth one can actually reach me in 4 rounds.
In order to compensate for this you have some help. First you have 4 slow spells on expert level. This is you "ability". You may use it either to manipulate their movements easier or to kill one stack practically for free (since the swordsmen movement is reduced to 3 all you need is to be more than 6 tiles away to execute the combo.
However DO NOT cast slow and then wait if the enemy is closer than 3 tiles to you. You slow them not petrify them. For example here you are safe:
Don't forget you can also take one hit from them! So you have "1 life". This is to make the map more forgiving to mistakes but you can use this to your advantage too! In the picture above you may execute the "wait combo" on one of the 3 stacks below and then move for an extra attack on the lonely stack above! You will get attacked of course but from only one -weakened- stack.
Also moving always the furthest away is not always the best solution
Here for example if I move on the corner the AI will not "enter" the safe zone. Remember that's your goal! So move a little closer. You may get hit once (you can take one hit ,you have one life) , or you can cast a slow and avoid it all together.
DO NOT JUST USE SLOW. Yes it will give you a "safe" wait combo. But 4 combos are not enough. Bring them on the edge of the map.You may also use the map for your advantage , they will take longer to go around.
So as you can see you have lives, special powers , advantage of the ground ( but in a more unique way in my opinion than normal maps since it's of much more importance) and tactics. As I said it's a mini-game on its own. This would not have worked so well with other units(too easy if enemy slower , impossible with faster enemy you would have to make him cast slow all the time but you remove the fun).

Now back to my play through! I was continuing the map. I can't seem to be able to beat Damacon . I hadn't played Heroes for so long. I visit all the dwellings, gather my money , amass my forces , upgrade them... Nothing. Those goddamn angels he has. Maybe in the end I am not that good player.
When it's a good time to attack him? I try to attack him right before the end of month 2. Is it too late? I just want to have a measure if my play style is right or wrong. When do you guys finish with this battle?

Its good to beat Damacon before begining of third month(so to say before end of m2w4).
Usually(third faction) I beat Pasis m2w1 or m2w2.
After that I go to Damacon.
What faction you play with?

Anyway, an easier tactic someone pointed out is to split Devils into a 3-1 setup. 1 Devil will be used as "lure" material. Yeah, you have to keep them swordsmen chasing the single Devil dude =)) Then all is ok.

Hi! I have a problem with the "Open Army" and "Open Magic" in the in-game. Whenever I click on them I get forwarded to the Kingdom Overview. Same goes for the "Help" box and all the other boxes (there are 8 or so I guess). I found it pretty hard to defeat certain heroes without being able to upgrade my army's stats or abilities....
Amry training works though, but that's that. Do you know how I can fix that? I've installed the newest ERA version and TEW IV version.

Got another problem too. I know this is the wrong section, but if anyone know the source to the problem I'd be greatfull. The ERA start menu and Mods Manager worked perfectly a day ago, but now (whenever I try to run a mod, TEW, HOL etc) I get an "ERM syntax error". I've reinstalled heroes 3 complete, wog and ERA but I still get the error. Just running Wog works fine, but whenever playing a mod with h3era.exe I get the error.

I remember I had some unexplained bug with new borders if a monsters stays by and you have the sword cursor when passing (you go through but the game does not recognize you passed). Anyway, to pass them all in that area, you need the last tent, the black one. Just visit the bonus area before the end, can't think to something else.

At the moment I cant go through the yellow one and when I click with right button on green border gate,it shows nothing,looks like this.
Yet I took the familiars and the dogs previously,so the rest are not so important.
I got 500 vamps already,but I guess screens would be entertaining when they are more and the banks are fuller.

Yes, technically if you make an unpassable square passable by ERM and there is a monster in adjacent square, it conflicts with monster attack area. No fix so far, that's why I let that area as bonus, to be taken only in the end-black tent will enable all tents-. Sorry for inconvenience.
So, what was the trick to take CB without a single spell?

Edit:Taking cyclop CB: (632 VLs vs 5 troops per 823 cyclops)
When a player doesnt use a spell,he uses ability!
Very interesting effect about the double move from the combo-
when I attack medusa store with my army,my efreet sultans get stoned and still can move second time!

Nice, I did not try to vampire lords but that's why I put so many home of the bats there.
Off topic: I don't know if it is my connection, but you use images bigger than 2 Mo then it takes forever to load. Converted to jpg they would take 150 ko at most.
